Commotion

Sergeant Kace and Volk led the small strike group into the Southlands a week after I was taken, they followed the obvious trail the soldiers had left in their haste to leave the kingdom, they crossed the border into the empire 4 days after that, making good time they dodged roving patrols and the occasional small village as they followed us to Lady Darks foreboding castle.

"This is as close as we can get", he told the 10 men that followed them as well as my five bunkmates, Sergeant Kace said when they were 10 miles out in a small secluded wood area to the east of the castle.

They made a small, well-hidden little camp as they prepared to do some observations of troop movements and anything else related to the castle's defenses and soldiers manning defenses. They had been tasked with observation only as the group was too small to do much else, 10 soldiers 5 trainee mages, and 2 sergeants wasn't an attacking force so they made preparations for future military action against the Dark lady, not to solely rescue me but also to get revenge for killing almost an entire generation of the future mage core.

As the days past they had gotten a rather large amount of information about the castle and the soldiers that they had Sergeant Volk relay via air mana communication on a bi-weekly basis to update command as to the situation.

Days turned to over half a month, today was another report day but before Sergeant Volk did his very draining communication spell today a solder that was in an observation post on a hillock overlooking the castle came bursting into camp at a flat run "Something has gotten the solders all flustered on the walls! A loud explosion was heard and we saw soldiers running to the inner bailey!" the man spoke fast as the Sergeant Kace made a snap decision

"Everyone, prepare to move out! I'm going to go check on the walls and I will be back once I have a clearer picture of what's going on," he said as he belted on his sword and made haste to the observation post.

When Sergeant Kace arrived and looked at the castle, men were running from the inner bailey but he couldn't see what they were running from but he had a sneaking suspicion as to what or who was most likely the issue. He guessed it Bruni, an envoy of destruction, nothing could bind an envoy down according to legends he read before embarking on this mission.

They were wild and dangerous beings, Sergeant Kace had first-hand experience as to just how deadly they could be as he had been stuck dealing with the aftermath of a few small episodes of my power while I was still in the army training camp.

His suspicions were confirmed as he saw a burning figure jump through the gate in a shower of flames and splintered wood as I when through the gate instead of slipping between the closing doors, chasing down the soldiers who were running even faster now.

Kace turned towards the slack-jawed solder and with a commanding tone ordered him to retrieve the rest of the group and have them form up in their combat gear, there might be an 'opportunity' to take advantage of the chaos I was creating as all eyes were now focused inside the castle instead of watching for any intruders.

Kace watched as I threw a spear at a fleeing soldier catching him in the leg as I ran full tilt and pounced on the man instantly the man's clothes burst into a conflagration of flames from the immense heat flowing from me. "What have they done to you boy?" he whispered to himself as he saw me savagely cut the man's head off.

After I killed the lone Terra mage the solders near me started to run for their lives, they were non-mages and lost all will to keep the demon at bay so they broke formation and sprinted for the closing iron-bound gates of the inner bailey.

a score of soldiers made it out of the gate before it closed, they momentarily slowed thinking they had gotten away from the crazy mage that was literally hot on their heals moments ago. They quickly realized their error as I burst through the gate before jumping on a soldier and decapitating him.

The castellan came through the ruined gate moments after I did but stopped when he saw me laughing as I beheaded yet another solder. He had used a vast amount of mana to keep me in the darkness to no avail so he couldn't just charge me and force me to submit, it was like I had an endless amount of mana flowing into my body, little did he know, I was almost at the breaking point, if he could have seen my face he would have seen blood pouring out of my nose and now both my ears, the damage was really starting to mount up but still I cared little for I was getting my revenge for what they did to me!

I saw a solder sprinting towards the outer wall while constantly looking back to see who was my next victim. I met the man's eyes and excitement began to grow ever higher. The hunt had begun once again as I sprinted towards the man who began to scream and cry seeing my rapid approach "NOO!" he screamed as I slammed my sword through his back and it came bursting through the front of his breastplate.

I kicked the man off my sword and put my foot on the man before yelling out in triumph, "MOREEE!! I screamed before looking for my next target, I was now well away from the broken gate and closer to the outer wall. I felt eyes on me and turned around seeing the castellan not more than 20 feet behind me sprinting hard towards me in the last-ditch effort to keep me contained before I made it out of the castle proper.
