Chapter 60: I was hoping you kind of like me too, Pepper

Asher stood there as the police approached him. His eyes looked at the armed robbers as they winced from the pain of being shot in the legs.

"What happened here?" One of the policemen asked him.

Asher had a straight face as he shrugged "It was the craziest thing. Out of nowhere, they shot each other in the foot. It was weird really. Can I go? My wife was shot"

As soon as the policeman nodded, Asher straightened his shirt and walked away. They would need a statement later but now he needed to be with his wife.

When he got to the car, Duke was placing a duffle bag in the car.

"The strangest thing happened, you see, someone…I am guessing a sniper shot the gentlemen with guns on their legs as they were about to hurt me. I don't suppose you know anything about it, Duke?"

"That's weird, LT" Duke shrugged.
