Maddie looked up at Aiden, eyes wide and hopeful. "I don't care if you're older, Aiden. You'll still be handsome," she said, the words sweetly confident.
Aiden chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And how do you know that, squirt?"
Maddie smiled knowingly. "My grandpa's still handsome and athletic! It's all about eating healthy and exercising," she announced with a nod.
Aiden laughed, his amusement growing. "Guess I'll have to take notes then."
She scrunched her nose. "Just don't be like my dad's dad. He just works and doesn't take care of himself." The girl looked up at Aiden, her wide eyes sparkling with admiration. "You're not gonna be old and grumpy, are you? Like, not just sitting around all day?"
Aiden laughed, glancing at her with mock seriousness. "I'll try my best, but you never know. Old Aiden might surprise you," he teased, giving her shoulder a playful nudge.
