Synopsis

Be careful what you wish for. That’s what they all say... But there was a half-second time limit... and worse, a word limit. Flustered, all I could say was, “Let me enter my novel.” And guess what? I wrote five novels. A power fantasy, a slice of life story, a short love story, a reimagination of a historical event, and lastly, my alcohol-delivered brain-child, —A story of tragedy and calamity, where I let my sadistic tendencies descend upon every character, every place, and every little specimen I deemed worthy enough to mention. Which novel do you think I was placed into? CAN YOU ******* GUESS? YOU CAN, RIGHT? DAMN IT ALL! I will survive this even if I have to sacrifice the entire world. Gods? Superior Races? Unsolvable mysteries? I am the creator of them all. They. Will. Cower.

Chapter 1Emerallia I — Ambrosya

The light of transmigration was blinding.

The process itself was an amazing feeling.

Wrapped up in mysterious energy, my soul traversed the barriers between realms—the walls between worlds. It was truly an out-of-this-world experience. Pun intended.

But as I looked out at the scene that lay before me, I could not help but frown quite deeply.

"No..." I muttered. "No way."

What were the words that I said just seconds before my transmigration?

[ Let me enter my novel. ]

"I am an idiot." I cursed. "Perhaps the biggest idiot of all time."

This place... this world... this... novel...

It was the creation I entitled [ Evergreen Passage ].

And oh boy, that book would be best explained in two words.

[ Tragedy ]

And,

[ Calamity ]

Nothing more, nothing less.

"GODS DAMN IT!" I screamed to the heavens and swore against my own name. "AMBROSYA, YOU ABSOLUTE DIMWIT."

I was brought into a world that was going straight to shit in just a few volumes.

And death here meant that I would lose everything.

I did not have the option to die. I could not allow it.

Thus, I blinked. Slowly.

As slow as a cat would when it blinks at its beloved owners.

I allowed my focus to return to the scenery before me.

There I saw a sparsely populated forest placed upon brown, dry earth. A sky of grey filled with low-lying clouds. A sloped landscape with sharp edges and cliffs.

It was a piece of nature that was present in all my books.

With only a single difference.

In the great, great distance, spreading out infinitely behind me, there was the Great Plains.

And a city could be seen just touching the horizon, brushing against the grey blanket of clouds. An invisible, infinitely tall tower that only I knew about should be standing there, at its very centre.

My descriptions of the location matched perfectly.

I was sure that this was Emerallia. A world that would be on the verge of utter destruction during Ragnarök. An event that would have arrived in the eighth volume.

To add insult to injury, I was familiar with this body that I was inhabiting.

I unsheathed my rusted dagger, and in between the patches of brown oxidation, I found the face I now wore. Black hair, black eyes, and a youthful face that looked somewhat androgynous.

"Caelum Phricius," I clicked my tongue as the memories of my character document flooded into my brain in great detail.

"A villain beneath being third-rate. A throw-away character that only lasted a few lines." I ridiculed, "Tragically slain by the main character, Virion Von Santos Sol the moment he drew blood from one of Virion's friends.

"Introduced in chapter 1, died in chapter 2." I continued. Boiling rage bubbled up from within me as more swear words threatened to rush out of my lips.

Inevitably, I controlled my anger and sighed.

"The world is going to end me even before the world itself ends."

I was dust blowing with the wind. Weak and puny.

Depressed, I sat down on the ground and breathed.

"F*ck."

...

After an hour of wallowing in my sorrows, I stood back up. Quite sluggishly, may I add.

I reminded myself that, no matter what, I could not die. Not here and not now.

And perhaps never at all... If I achieve the highest of heights.

"Immortality... It is a path that I hold dear to my heart. I want it more than anything else in the world." I chuckled, wryly.

To achieve immortality, I had to solve the problem at hand first.

I pursed my lips before muttering out loud, "Back to Caelum Phricius. I remember writing down the fact that he was part of a bandit group called the Luster Mountain Bandits. At the meagre age of 16, a life of crime was all that he had. Blood stained his hands, all for the necessary riches he needed to survive.

"He wishes to go to [ Aethercaller University ], located in [ Central Ring, Aelthrie Mana Metropolis, Great Plains, Emerallia ]. But alas, he can only wish for it. He is much too weak to even participate in its entrance exams that will be held in a week.

"He has no time to grow strong enough."

I shook my head.

Aethercaller was an important focal point of [ Evergreen Passage ]. I needed to attend its classes to reinforce what I knew of the world and leech off its sponsored resources.

I knew the bigger picture of this world, but I lacked all the minute details.

E.g.,

When I described mana as having the ability to become a mana program through the correct manipulation of spiritual mana, I did not elaborate on every single detail or actually create a mana program to represent it.

I knew things, but not exactly how to do them.

The exceptions, of course, were how big plot-changing devices and items were made.

A wonderful example would be the [ World's System ].

Originally, the World's System was crafted by the human gods of Emerallia to keep their faithful believers alive and combat Ragnarök. To stop the end of the world.

Thystaina, the goddess of concepts was the one who crafted such an idea. But she died just as Ragnarök began. Her works were discovered by the desperate gods and they tried their best to create the most powerful World's System possible.

Thystaina's calculations only required a few ingredients for its creation:

Her powers.

Mana as its fuel and coding language.

The Gaian Membrane (more on that in the future) as its medium.

And a human brain for its consciousness or A.I.

But the gods did something else.

They used the same mana, the same Gaian Membrane, but instead of Thystaina's powers, they used her corpse. And instead of a human brain, they used a god's brain.

What that created was a system so great that it could defy even its creators.

I, on the other hand, can make something simpler. Something better.

All I need are the powers of one of Thystaina's demigod children, the same mana program, the same Gaian Membrane, and simply the left hemisphere of the human brain.

This would create a very stable system. One that trumps even the gods' creations.

"But alas, that is only something I can do in the future." I sighed again.

How many times have I sighed today? My anger was fizzling out because of how tremendous a task it was to survive in this world of calamity I created.

"Nonetheless, I have to at least try."

This is probably my first full 5 star review since reading Dance With the Nightingale 9 months ago. Needless to say, it's one of the best books on this site. I'm using simple words, but this isn't cap. Anyways, time for the line by line: First is Writing Quality, which, although is a pretty mediocre in the first 20 or so chaps, it gets infinitely better as the author writes more chapters and by chapter 40, writing mistakes are nonexistent from the Author's writing. You can like, literally see the author's growth, and it's pretty cool. Also, if you don't trust me on this, well, I'm American student with a law major taking english courses on the side, so... Onto Stability of Updates which has no problems at all with a steady rate of 2 chapters a day. This is easily 5 stars, I don't think anybody could put 4 stars for this. Next, Story Development, which I think is perfectly paced. I honestly don't know how the author did it, but the novel's pace is just so, pure. Like, it's at the point where it slows down when it needs to slow down to give you a break between action scenes, and it speeds up when it needs to to give the reader that heart pumping adrenaline high that I love to get when reading books. Like, last time I had such a high from reading was a few months back whilst reading LoTM, which just shows how good this book is. Fourth is Character Design, and what do you know, somehow, the author made it so that all the character are phucing amazing. Like, it's probably because, in the first place, the world is a tragic world, so all the characters are definitely not two dimensional and are at least three dimensional with some branching out into the fourth dimension (Don't ask me how this works). Anyways, the design of the characters is just really great, as they actually have unique personalities, that, although having been used in some other books before, as all personalities have already been used by this point, I still believe the author does it a lot better than all others that have used these types of character designs before. Finally, world background, which, like the character design, isn't that unique, with just some different names for the same things found in other novels, but once again, the author writing just makes it somehow hit differently. And like, you can tell that some parts are inspired from other novels, but again, unlike the other types of novels that are just cheap knock-offs of TAPOV, this one definitely isn't, as it changes it a lot and makes many things unique. Like... well, that'd be spoilers, but trust me, the world building is absolutely different. Welp, that's all, don't know how you got all the way down here so quickly, but I promise it was a lengthy review :) Anyways, would definitely recommend this fervently to anyone that asked for a good novel, especially starters, cause the best I've seen in a while. Also, one more thing author, like, that cover, change it. It's pretty bad (pretty bad means "pretty" bad) and just makes other readers gloss over it, cause, well, people here judge books by their cover (Take it from a fellow author himself). One more thing, do you have a discord server? That's all, thank you so much for writing this author, and keep up the good work!

I’m not to good at reviews but this novel definitely deserves a 5 star review. It’s definitely one of the best of the ‘Author Reincarnated Into Their Own Book’ trope which has become pretty popular. Now for the rating criteria: Writing Quality: The writing quality for the first 20 chapters can be considered decent but still providing an enjoyable read. As more chapters get released the improvement in the writing quality becomes apparent when comparing the newest chapters released which have almost no mistakes to he first chapters released. Updating Stability: Nothing to complain about here as the Author releases at least a chapter a day but has had to take abit of break because of schoolwork which is understandable. Story Development: The pace of the story feels perfect and works really well slowing down when it needs to and speeding up at the right times. Character Design: The Author did a wonderful job on the character design as none of the characters feel like they like they lack a personality or are two dimensional but instead read like real people with all different personality’s, motivations and backgrounds. World Background: Lastly the world background for this novel while being similar to other ‘Reincarnated into my Novel’ worlds it feels unique to itself and has it’s own layer of history and intrigue to it that leaves the reader wanting to know more. I don’t know if this was a good review but I hope I got across the main points ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone as it’s made its way into my favourites and deserves more attention. :)
