Chapter 14: First Actual Battle and Meditation

 Walking down the cave, Saffiyah and Shiny noticed an unbelievabally weak monster that shouldnt be able to survive in this cave. It was a worm with E rank endurance and everything else was that of a toddler. "Dear, you see that strange worm over there, I want you to attack it using your magic" Ash responded with a nod. Forming a spear coated in white flames, Ash sent it crashing down on the worm. Smashing the portion of its body that was hit. "Dear, even if youre power is not as powerful or stronger than something, with enough mastery you can make your abilities surpass your raw power and overpower things that are stronger than you" Said Saffiyah as Ash was amazed about the power behind that attack. 

 "Let's stop here, there is an abundance of different element mana here" said Safiyah as Ash sat down being tired from the walk. "Now Ash, calm your mind and sense the different energies around you, try identifying each of them as the easiset way to sense different elements is how they act and their color. For example, mana that is blue can be associated with the water element, however there are different elements that have the same color with slight differences but react differently. One example is azure, a rare fire element that appears blue and slmost the same color as the water element. However one is flame while the other is water." Ash nodded and went into deep meditation.

 "Such concentration is hard to achieve, even Max can't do such deep meditation." Said Saffiyah with Shint nodding in agreement. "I was shocked watching Aaron when he was three but Ash is doing things that normally would take kids reaching the age of ten, and even grown ups not being able to achieve it '' Said Shiny who was focused on their surroundings. "Shiny, I will continue my practice, just give me a signal if there's a problem" said Saffiyah who got a nod in return. 

 Both Ash and Saffiyah would meditate and wake up again from time to time when they got hungry, due to the zone and danger though they just slept on a futon when they felt tired. Due to Saffiyahs power and experience, she would be able to train for extended periods of time without food or sleep. Ash needed a lot of both however due to her young age. Shiny kept looking out but had no problems averting away the bats and taking out the ones that were valuable or useful. This would repeat for two weeks.

 While Ash was practicing, she was inching closer and closer to the bottleneck. After a week of not actually practicing something that was more focused on increasing her strength, she hit the bottleneck. Following this, Saffiyah stopped her practice and guided Ash to break through, Making her core at the E-rank realm. After this breakthrouh, both Ash and Grim found it much easier to sense their surroundings and be able to identify mana elements. Saffiyah told them that she would give them a book about the different elements for them to study later. 

 Three days into the second week Ash managed to master aura concealment and concealing her aura was natural, causing less problems by attracting the bats to them. Taking a huge load off of Shiny who was just glad that her partner's daughter was making such progress. After the second week was done, Ash and Grim were able to convert neutral mana and slowly refine elemental mana to become an element that they could consume. 

 "Dear, are you ready to pack up and leave?" Said Saffiyah as Ash got out of meditation. "Yes mother" said Ash who was ready to leave. As Saffiyah packed everything they started their journey to the entrance of the cave. While walking back, Saffiyah would shoot an elemental bat by the wing, sending it crashing down while Ash would practice her aim. At first Ash missed every shot and only hit the bat while it lay on the ground. Once they were almost out of the cave Ash hit her first descending bat, hitting it straight in the head, causing it to die on the spot.

 "That's how you do it dear" Said Saffiyah proudly watching her daughter have better aim than a lot of people, even though Ash hit the bat by pure luck. They walked out of the cave embracing the sight of a rising sun, enjoying the breeze as their experience in the cave was extremely warm and somewhat uncomfortable. "Come on dear, let's go. We're gonna go to the nearest kingdom to get you those cultivation methods" said Saffiyah, who brought out her broom. Picking up Ash and setting out to the kingdom of Salavaria.
