Apocalyptic World: I've Got The Second System

Seventeen-year-old Seth's mundane existence takes an astonishing twist when he hears a divine proclamation from God. The world teeters on the edge of an apocalyptic event, but instead of the typical chaos and destruction, God transforms it into a challenge. A challenge where every human receives a unique system and concealed abilities, all in the name of survival. "Shit! What should I do?" I could hardly hear my own voice as I faced imminent death. In the midst of the darkness, a woman's voice taunted me. "What an intriguing human, on the verge of death, aren't you?" Yes, I am! Please, stop talking and let me pass in peace. "How about I offer you a chance? You need to help me escape, and I believe you're the only one who can." How could I possibly do that? "Yes, yes, just form a pact with me. I'll grant you the victory you desire most, and in return, I'll gain my freedom. But it won't be without a cost. I'll bestow upon you the Ouroboros curse." Are you seriously presenting me with this choice while I'm on the brink of death? Ugh, do I even have a choice? As I resolved to accept, I heard a voice. High In The Rooftop

I eyed the two players I had to deal with. Victor or something – I forgot their names. Faces, though, were those I remembered, unlike Amy who apparently had a memory wipe.

They were chilling on the rooftop, how could they do that? It was snowing here. They looked like they were smoking something. Please, not weed. Can't stand that stench.

I landed on the roof, and they just waved at me. What's up with that? Are they high or what?

"Hey, mate, want some weed?" said the dude, I think his name's Jacob or whatever.

Did I just off them like this?

But Jacob threw an arm around me, "Come on, join us." Took another drag and blew the smoke my way.

The woman, Victoria, or who knows, acted differently. She's got a staff and goes, "Let go of him, Jacob. He might be one of those Marauders!"

Jacob shoved me back, "Oh, crap. You're not with them, right, mate?" Sword materialized in his hand.

I shook my head, "Nah, just a regular player."

Oh yeah, her name was Victoire, she sized me up, "Yeah, he's not with that group. They usually wear masks or something."

Interesting info there. Maybe I'll let them chat about the Marauders. Even when my social battery was already at my limit.

After that, I will kill them. No games this time. I didn't want to turn into someone who enjoys offing people, even if they've got it coming.

Jacob tapped my shoulder, "Come on, mate, join the fun." He then strolled over to Victoire, and they casually took a seat on the sofa, exchanging a passionate kiss.

Now, that kiss was wild, and I was just there, feeling like a third wheel. But hey, the juicy intel about the Marauders was worth the discomfort.

I didn't want to ask Matthias about that group anymore. I didn't want him or other party members to get suspicious with too many questions.

I settled in next to Victoire, and suddenly her hand decided to go exploring, making a detour straight for my crotch. What the hell was wrong with this woman?

"Care to join us?" she purred while touching my chest, giving me the creeps. I was ready to off her if she went any further, but Jacob stepped in, pulling her onto his lap.

"Nah, not open for a threesome today, babe," he declared, smooching her neck, and she just laughed it off.

Thank the heavens for Jacob, I never thought I'd say that. I was supposed to despise them for what they did to Ara, but hey, they were pretty chill now.

"So, about the Malevolent Marauders. How do you know them?" I threw in the question, hoping to wrap this up ASAP. I hated being in this awkward situation.

"Oh, curious about them, eh? One of my mates is part of the group. Total assholes, they are," Jacob replied, dropping the bomb.

"Yeah, you can join them easily if you go to the barn," Victoria added, kissing Jacob's neck, and he just laughed while his hands started playing a game of peek-a-boo with her clothes.

How the hell did I not know about all this?! Must have been too busy on my killing spree. But it's disturbingly easy to join them.

"That's easy, but why doesn't anyone go against them?" I pressed for more, desperately trying to shift the topic from their increasingly intimate escapades.

"Oh, the Ace & King party sometimes hunts them down. They rock hard," Jacob quipped, now fully occupied kissing his girlfriend's breast, while Victoire moaned.

Her clothes magically vanished, and I was left squinting at this spectacle. Gracia and Gideon seemed like saints compared to this madness.

I needed to get my questions in before things got even weirder. My innocent eyes could only take so much.

Alright, enough of the wild show. "About their masks, what kind are they?" I asked again, hoping for something useful amidst the, well, distractions.

"Ah... Jacob. Emm... No, they just buy whatever masks they can find," Victoire replied with a half-moan. They were getting wilder, and my patience was wearing thin.

"Yeah, some blokes sport the same mask, a wolfy one. But they're rather significant figures, you know?" Jacob added, his hand was in Victoire's pants.

"How to become a top figure?" I inquired again.

"Easy, kill as many players as you can."

"But how do they know if someone's kill count is legit?" I asked. People could easily lie about these things, right?

"You ask too much, mate. Why don't you just join them?" Jacob seemed irritated; I was disrupting his intimate moment with questions.

"Don't be like that, Jacob," Victoire rebuked him. "Well, it's their secret. But my friend said one of the members has the skill to see another player's status."

A skill to see player status? Now that's intriguing. "Oh yeah, and they can even see the future," Jacob added, hand heading southward.

Ugh, this is it, my limit. I didn't want to see someone having sex in front of me. "I think it's time to call it a night," I declared, standing up.

"I know you don't remember me, but you guys are assholes and deserve it."

In the blink of an eye, I materialized my revolver. They were too intoxicated to react, and two shots pierced the night. Their horrified expressions played out before their lives were extinguished.

[You received 3500 killing points and 400 EXP for killing two players.]

[Killing count: 58 players]

I noticed Jacob's, uh, "root," and concluded I'm apparently superior in that department. Bigger gun, bigger... ego?

But the satisfaction was short-lived. A sense of being watched nagged at me, and I turned to the nearby exit door. It's not the first time I've felt this presence—first during my initial killing spree.

At first, I didn't care much, assuming they were just scared or unaware of my identity.

Yet, this stalker persisted, haunting me from my second spree to now. There's an eerie consistency about it. Who are they, and why spy on me?

Each attempt to catch up to them proved futile. My "Enhanced Perception" availed me nothing. Determined, I sprinted toward the exit, honing my senses.

I spotted someone heading towards the room. I followed them, catching a glimpse of a shadow leaping out the window. I gave chase, but they vanished into thin air.

Were they some kind of assassin? What did they want from me? The unease settled in. Whoever's tailing me knows my identity even without a mask. It's disconcerting, but one day, I'll catch them—whatever it takes.

Hmm is this kind of chapter turn you off? Or too much NSFW? No, right? At this point, should have added an r18 tag to this novel
