Sera is a bright but innocent young lady who lives in the countryside and has never met her biological father. She was free-spirited but educationally deprived due to her life circumstances and she never dreamed of having a well-off living out of the countryside. She decided to look for her own father in the city after her mother died and she became financially unstable. She used to learn that her father is a millionaire businessman— Emmanuel Leviste, and she was warmly welcomed after she introduced herself. She assumed that everything would go smoothly and that she would finally be able to live in harmony with her new family, but her half sister, Dannah, despised her so much. Sera tried as hard as she could to please Dannah, but Dannah kept pushing her away. Meanwhile, Dannah has a boyfriend named Liejel Samaniego, a handsome guy who is the acting CEO of a technology company and the son of her father's best friend and business partner. Perhaps it was love at first sight for Sera, who admired Liejel from the moment they met, but she tried to hide her feelings so she and Dannah wouldn't fight and she could gain her acceptance.
Sera's heart shattered when she learned that Liejel and Dannah were about to marry, but she also learned that their marriage was predetermined for the sake of the company's partnership and the two didn’t reveal their relationship in public as there was no love involved with it. Sera supported the couple rather than interfering in their relationship. Dannah abruptly left without saying anything just as the wedding date approached. She simply informed her father that she was about to marry someone else and that she still resented him for bringing Sera to their house.
However, with or without Dannah, the business partnership must be completed because it was stated in Liejel's father's last will and testament that he would be able to fully gain the CEO position and money lineage if he married any of Emmanuel's daughters. Sera was considered to marry Liejel because she is also Emmanuel's biological daughter, even though she did not grow up in the same social standing as them. Liejel's company's financial support is also required for Emmanuel's company to survive, so both Sera and Liejel agreed to marry, and Emannuel requested that Liejel must teach Sera about corporate literacy while she was going to study. But, of course, the marriage must take precedence over Sera's college studies.
Their marriage is strange for both of them; Liejel had a negative impression of Sera ever since they met, believing that Sera was acting foolish and naive in order to seduce him, and he did not believe that Sera is nice to everyone. Sera was a con artist in his eyes. Sera, on the other hand, knew how much Liejel despised her, but she doesn't mind as long as this marriage brings her closer to his heart. How could she make him love her when the whole point of their marriage was to save a sinking company?
