[MARINA]
Ten minutes later, Ivy leaned forward and said to Marina, "honey bunny, take your time. It is not like people are waiting for us inside the conference room."
"Why didn't you say anything?" Marina asked as she stood.
Ivy glared at her, one question in her eyes, "are you kidding me?"
Marina winked at her and walked around the desk. "Give me the file." Said Marina as she stretched her hand to Ivy.
Ivy sighed and picked up the file that was on the desk and gave it to Marina. Marina squinted her eyes as she read the pages in concentration. Ivy tapped on the desk impatiently, by now, she would get used to Marina's weird behavior, but no.
She still found everything Marina said and did weird. But she never asked.
"Okay, done," Marina said as she picked up her backpack.
"Great," Ivy said and rose.
They walked to the conference room, side by side. As soon as they entered the room, Ivy Tanner apologized to the people waiting, "we apologize for keeping you waiting."
"It is okay." One of them said.
Marina pulled out a chair for Ivy when she heard her wolf saying, "Ivy is madder."
Marina pulled her out and sat. She placed her hand in front of her and looked at the people staring at them with anticipation. Ivy pinched her under the table, Marina glared at her. "What?" She asked.
"Apologize!" Ivy said while opening her laptop.
"Right," Marina responded. "Good morning, sorry for keeping you waiting."
"A pinch is coming, it is coming," Lana warned Marina. Marina removed her hand from the top of the table and placed it under the table, she took Ivy's hand into hers.
Ivy smiled and said to the people in the conference staring at the two of them as if they were some kind of trophies, "we went through your company profile, and we have a few questions."
RIMA Travels, Marina's company deals with advertisements, selling, buying, and manufacturing boats. Most importantly, tourism. Marina started the company with one idea in mind, "send tourists to Lake Rimaria to make it known and grow."
And it helped as it provided a source of income to many people near Lake Rimaria. If it wasn't for the Fishers Pack werewolves, then it was the humans who stayed near Lake Rimaria.
Once Ivy saw how good the company was doing, she informed Marina about expanding, and Marina was on board with the plan.
Lakeside Corporation wanted a deal with them for advertisements for their water motorcycles.
Most of the time, Marina and Ivy took turns asking the necessary questions in meetings before they decide if they wanted to strike a deal, but when Marina squeezed Ivy's hand, Ivy knew something was wrong.
Marina squeezed it again and when Ivy squeezed back, she released her hand from Ivy's and placed them on the table.
Ivy glanced at Marina and then proceeded with the meeting, asking the necessary questions.
Marina was there but not there.
She heard Ivy's voice from a far distance, her wolf was restless, already started to scream 'hot' again. Something was wrong but she couldn't figure out what exactly. When Lana screamed, 'hot.' Again, Marina stared at Ivy.
Ivy saw Marina staring at her from the corner of her eye.
It went unnoticed by the other people in the room since they didn't know Marina as Ivy did.
Ivy Tanner shut down her laptop and asked, "any question?" And before anyone would ask anything, Ivy Tanner closed her laptop and said, "good, no question. Thank you for coming. We will be in touch."
The people in the room didn't have the chance to ask anything, they couldn't, not when Ivy was staring at them with the look on her face, "I dare you to ask anything."
They gathered their belongings and left Ivy and Marina sitting there.
Once the last one left the room, Ivy turned to Marina and asked, "what is wrong?"
Marina chuckled, "nothing. Why?"
In disbelief, Ivy shook her head and said, "let us go back to your office."
"Okay," Marina replied.
**
When she heard the door locking, Marina placed her backpack on the table and removed her satin top. "The fan isn't working." She thought and looked around the office. It wasn't the first time Marina did something weird in front of her, and that was why Ivy asked nothing.
She just opened her laptop and got to work.
Marina slumped on the love seat in her office and said to Ivy, "I need space."
"Marina, can't you see I am working?" Ivy asked, not looking at her.
"Now, now. Why do you seem, mmh, angry?"
Ivy sighed and walked to Marina's desk.
Marina straightened her foot and yawned.
"You didn't eat?" Ivy asked.
"Uh?" Marina asked absentmindedly.
"I asked…" Ivy stopped when she heard him knock on the door, "come in."
Marina straightened up and stared at who just entered her office. "did he just enter my office without knocking?" She wondered as she stared at the man.
"Mr. Ballentine, how can I help you?" Ivy asked.
"A knock? Etiquette." Marina thought.
"I am here to speak with Miss Marina, Miss Ivy." Mr. Ballentine said, trying his best not to stare at Marina who hasn't stood to wear her shirt.
"Marina?" Ivy asked.
"You are fired, Mr. Valentine," Marina said, before the man would even register what he just heard, Marina walked to the restroom inside her office.
"What just happened?" Ivy wondered as she stared at the man whose mind has gone blank. She rubbed her face with frustration and approached the man. "I apologize for that Mr. Ballentine," Ivy said and placed her hand on the man's shoulder.
She locked the door and headed to the restroom, "Marina, are you insane? You can't fire him, and he is not Valentine." Asked Ivy with disbelief written all over her face.
"Why can't I? He entered the office, without knocking and when he saw that I am naked he didn't even bother to apologize and leave. He is so fired." Marina responded.
"He knocked, I answered, and about you being naked, why do you keep removing your shirt at work?" Ivy asked with a frown on her face.
"Get out, Ivy," Marina said softly.
"No. You go and apologize to that man, he has been the best employer in the company since we started, hell you made him the best employer of the month last month."
"Now, now. Who did what?" Marina asked.
Ivy huffed. "You did it. Go apologize."
"You go apologize." Marina said, and when Ivy scoffed, Marina spun around, her nose flared up, "you do not get to tell me what to do Ms. Tanner, I said go apologize to him and I mean GO! Got it?"
Ivy took a step back, never in all her years with Marina has she seen her angry like that, and in a spun of seconds, it was like something switched in her mind. "Are you okay Marina?"
"I said go!" Marina yelled.
Ivy jumped a little and left the bathroom.
"It is hot in here. Get out!" Lana screamed at Marina.
A soft growled escaped her lips, she left the restroom and found Ivy standing in the middle of the office, she grabbed her things from the office and left leaving Ivy shocked.
