Chapter 12 ( updated)

Hey sorry for not uploading, I was just not sure how to continue the story for some reason, hopefully this chapter is ok. I should really plan this out but I haven't and it probably shows, anyway if people have any ideas on we're this could go I would appreciate it if you shared it as I'm not the most creative. :/

Another thing I need to figure out is sapphires personality/ how she acts around others, hopefully the one I go for is not horrendously cringe.

Ps I have also realised I am most likely changing from third and first person and haven't caught my self doing it, if so sorry it's most likely going to continue but I will try my best to not do that.

Jack turns around so he can hug sapphire. Standing up jack stands a bit taller then sapphire, sapphire at around 5ft8 while jack is around 5ft10. Skannon comes and hugs the both of them.

10 Minutes pass

Sapphire, seemingly stopped crying. Slowly stands up, Sapphire wipes her eyes, " s sorry jack,I thought, I thought everyone…, it's good to see you two again." sapphire says red eyed

" It's ok saph, you want to come home?." Jack asked

" I, I can… but."

" Fantastic, we can leave when ever your ready saph." Jack says quickly

" We don't need to leave straight away sapphire, take as long as you need, just remember, we are here for you." Skannon says with a soft smile.

"Oh, what happened to the 3 people following us?" Jack asks, Skannon looks interested in sapphire response.

"Well, i made sure they won't be bothering us again, so don't worry." Sapphire reply's with blank eyes.

" I might as well get my stuff, they are at joe's."

Jack trying to bring up sapphire mood" after do you two want to come to fera's restaurant?"

"That a good idea jack. You are not going without us though understood." Skannon reply's with a smile .

"… ye, that's fine" sapphire reply's.

" also sapphire, jack is your adopted brother." Skannon adds " I guessed so, but thanks for saying." Sapphire says back.

10 minutes later

Sapphire looking annoyed enter joe's shop with jack and Skannon following close by.

" Getting my stuff, be leaving in a couple days." Sapphire says with little emotion to joe, she then going into the back of the shop and upstairs.

" Oh, blue haired boy, you're alive, that's a surprise."

"Ha, well, to be honest, it was close." Jack says while rubbing his head.

"What happend?" Joe asked intrigued.

"Well… she walked into are room… me having my guard down thinking she recognised me I turned around and she attacked me, and got her claws to my throat and threaten my life… so not the reunion I was thinking I would be getting, also this is are dad." Jack says embarrassed while also pointing to Skannon.

Joe let's out a hardy laugh " well at least it seems she let go… so you two taking her home? Joe says slightly sad.

"Ye we will be when she want to, also why do you care and why is her stuff in your shop?" Jack asks, Skannon while looking at the weapons listens closely to the conversation.

"Well, she helps out around the shop when she can as payment for her staying here. I keep on saying she doesn't need to do that but she doesn't listen, but to be honest she's a good helping hand I have to say.

The main reasons is because Of her eyes, she should not have that look at her age.

I also have a daughter around her age, So I wanted to help… doesn't mean it was easy getting her to stay here though, took almost a month for her to move in here. Before she moved in, she was sleeping in a tree, a tree! You believe that, I was also trying to help her be a bit nicer to people as before, well, let's not ruin the mood ay."

"Thank you joe, for looking out for my daughter, and not giving up, it means a lot." Skannon says smiling.

"No worry's, even though she was a handful, she verry slightly, sort of, reminds me of my own daughter, if she was still living with me I feel like she might of help sapphire out a lot more then just me.

She is now a knight apprentice in the main capital academy, her name is Ashley, hard to miss, as she has beautiful crimson wings."

"Oh I think I have seen her a couple of times, she seems like a lovely person always smiling and talkative." jack reply's.

"ye she is like that, if you see her tell her, her dad misses his baby red kite will you?"

"Ummmm, do I really need to say to to her?" Jack nervously asks.

"Well if you are to embarrass to say it just leave the baby red kit bit out, but she use to love being called that when she was younger." A smile slowly creeps on joes face.

Sapphire comes downstairs wearing a backpack," oh saph, let me take it, I can store it in my storage bracelet."

"Ok jack" sapphire reply's and hands her backpack to jack.

"Saph, not to be nosy, but why don't you have any clothes, not in a creepy way! Jack say panicked, sapphire glares at jack. " like when you put the backpack in It notify me what is generally inside like food, clothes, camping gear and so on, but there is no clothes section." Jack quickly informs sapphire.

"I'm wearing my clothes." Sapphire stats still glaring at jack, "well we can't have you in just them sapphire, why don't we go clothes shopping, we will pay." Skannon suggests.

sapphire does not reply.

"Well, that seems like a yes to me. Might as well go now if you have everything." Skannon says.

"thanks joe ." Sapphire quietly says and walk out the door.

"Wait up saph, you can't go shopping without us you know." Jack says jogging to the exit.

Sapphire verbally sighs

"So she does know basic kindness. Hey make sure she get a good night sleep when she can, she hasn't had one the entire time she's been here, also, try to help her with her temper, it's not the best. Joe say seriously to Skannon

"Will do joe, and again, thank you, for everything you've done for my daughter." He then puts a sack of money on the counter " for the trouble of looking after her." And Skannon walks out the shop.

"This shop looks good, what do you say saph."

"whatever"

" oh come on, it's just cloth's shopping, it's not like we are doing anything illegal here saph." Sapphire does not reply and just walk into the store.

"Don't worry jack she will warm up to us soon, don't try and force her." Both Skannon and jack follow sapphire.

Sapphire can be seen blankly looking at the clothes, a couple minutes pass. Skannon decides to go to the clerk, "excuse me miss, can you help my daughter here with getting some clothes."

" oh sure sir, just take me to your daughter so I can see what would suit her."

The female clerk follow Skannon and comes across jack trying to hand sapphire a pink top, sapphire is not very amused.

female clerk" I assume it's the white haired fox who is your daughter sir."

" yes that is correct."

" well don't you think she is old enough to get her own clothing with her boy friend?"

" well first off that her brother, secondly she has been by her self for a while and has, from my knowledge, never picked her own clothing out so if you can, just help out please."

"Oh, ok sir, I will do my best"

" hello miss, can you come with me please, I will help you with some clothing if you would like." The female clerk says with a friendly smile.

"Ok." Sapphire them Follows the clerk.

"So, miss, what are your sizes so we can get the correct clothing for you."

"Don't know them."

" Well, then miss, why not let us measure you and we can get them for you?"

" I'll measure my self."

" well ok them miss, I will show you to the changing room and you can measure in there, there are Instructions inside the changing rooms on what to do." Sapphire nods and then follows.

A couple minutes later

"So miss what are your rough sizes?" "around **** for bust, **** for waist and **** for hips." "O oh great miss, ok… are you sure your bust is that size?"

" ye, I have bandages around them at the moment it hide the size well, useful for fighting things if they are like that."

" right, sure miss, well I think I have an idea on what would be good for you." The clerk then walk off for a couple minutes and comes back with a good amount of clothes.

" miss why have you not removed the bandages?"

" I don't want to."

" ok, miss." The clerk seems annoyed.

"well sapphire that's way better, you look more like a normal civilian then a bandit or very bad assassin." Jack says cheekily.

"whatever jack." Sapphire is currently wearing, a sleeveless white buttoned top with a piece of black cloth strapped around the bottom that hangs over her hip and stops halfway down her left thigh, black trousers and black boots that are a mix of long boot and hiking boots.

"I'll take this outfit them." Sapphire says.

"wonderful miss here are the next outfits."

The clerk heads sapphire a black fluffy bow gown, and many others.

A while later

"Do you have anything that can block the smells, as i am going to make sure she does not wear the bandana when in casual clothing." Skannon asks the clerk.

" oh, yes we have scarfs that are able to block out most bad smells for beastkin what colour would you like to get."

" can you get a white one please." Skannon reply's

"right away sir." The female clerk comes back shortly after and hands over a scarf.

"this will be 5 copper sir."

Skannon hands over the money for the scarf and then hands it to sapphire, who is holding clothes, so she is unable to put it on.

"Thank you for your service, have a good day." The clerk says."

"You too." Both jack and Skannon say,

"Sapphire, hand me your old clothes, and don't worry your mother use to drag me to clothing stores all the time just to carry her clothes." Skannon says.

"ok." And sapphire hands the clothes over to Skannon and he put it into his storage necklace.

The group then head towards fara's restaurant and order food for them selfs.

A couple hours later

"That was lovely , great suggestion jack ." Skannon says patting his stomach.

" It was a good spot." Jack says smiling.

All 3 then walk toward the laughing mug and go back to the room.

"So sapphire before we depart we should know each other's stats, can you show yours." Skannon asks.

" I'd rather not do that."

" saph, we seen what happend, well, what happend at the end, you turned into a hollow like creature, so we are prepared." Jack says a confident but joyful smile on his face trying to not destroy the good mood

This grant the user of this boon the ability to cast fire magic. Because the user was not granted this boon from the creature willingly it has becomes cursed, the curse make it so fire magic is 3x more expensive to cast and they have a curse mark somewhere on their body.

{lightning magic boon}

This grants the user of this boon the ability to cast lightning magic. Because the user was not granted this boon from the creature willingly it has been curse, the curse make it so the user feels more pain then normal and they have a curse mark somewhere on their body.

{Boon of higher will}

Willingly Provided by one of the gods. this boon is a higher version of the boon of will, large increases to the will of the user permanently, no markings.

{high level fast healing}

This is the highest level of self healing that is not full regeneration, this lets the user heal from most injuries with no issue. This does not let you regrow limbs but will let you re attach limbs and phalanges as long as they were originally from the user and have been no longer then 1 minute of the body. Thankfully this skill uses mana, so you do not shorten your life every time you heal an injury unlike… other healing skills.

{pain resistance}

The user has been able to resist a set level of pain and has gained the ability to feel it less, this does not stop the user from feeling pain, it just dulls it. There is no higher level as anything higher then level 5 would become detrimental to the user and would gain the condition: Congenital insensitivity to pain and anhydrosis. (CIPA)

{Feral fox claws}

This is achieved by becoming a feral, making it so the nails of the user becomes longer and sharper making the nails into claws, depending on the level of this skill will determine the hardness and sharpness of the claws, after reaching max level the user will be able to evolve it further into extremely sturdy and sharp metal rivalling the strongest swords.

{Poison resistance}

The user has been infected with deadly poison and lived. This skill makes it so the user has a more tolerance for poison so the body can take more before it becomes an issue and harms the user.

{drug resistance}

The user was drugged by something enough times and has now gained a resistance to drugs, this makes it so the user has more tolerance before a drug effects them, it also make it so any drug will be slower to act or effect the user.

{title intermediate monster}

This title increases the health of the user by 2x and increase the higher the title evolves. The user can also regain their strength once every day.

{ Monster physiology physical}

This is one of two paths this skill can go this skills increases the hp of the user by x5 and the physical stats of the user by 2x.

Skannon hugs sapphire suddenly. " I'm sorry, we, we tried finding you as fast as possible, we could of stopped this from happening." Tears slightly coming from his eyes."

sapphire does not reply

"Sapphire, What ever caused that title to appear you need to stop doing it, right now, you understand, that title bring nothing good, the title and monster core, theses thing will effect you, even if you don't notice it, it changes you…. You promise me, promise me you will stop what ever caused you to have those appear."

" good, when we get home, I will teach you ways of increasing your mana colour, it's important, for many reasons, One of the big reasons being, if you carry on, you can die, because you have a monster core as well as a normal mana core, the imbalance of your mana core colour and monster core rank are too far apart.

Sapphire doesn't say anything, but nods.
