A writer's journey

Life they say, is full of ups and downs and I enjoyed all the good things life could offer for the first thirty years of my Life. Wealth, riches, happiness and prosperity, I had my fair share of it all.

Everything was all thanks to God and the beautiful woman I took in as a wife. I must have done some good deeds in my past life, for God to bless me with such a beautiful, caring, understanding, and loyal wife.

I wouldn't be shameless enough to admit that I'm the most handsome human in the whole universe, but I'll proudly say that if I should claim to be the second most handsome human on Earth, nobody will have the guts to claim to be the first.

I married my wife at a 'tender' age, she was 22 when I married her, while I was 25 at that time.

On the night of our wedding, we consumed the – I wouldn't call it the forbidden fruit—but I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say. Nine months after, she gave me the most precious of all my possession.

A handsome man was walking up and down, with his eyes firmly placed on the door of the labour room like a sentry on duty. If asked, he would be able to tell how many times each nurse entered and exited the room. The shouts, shrieks, grunts…every sound that was made in the room, he listened to them all without missing a single detail. If you should look into his eyes you'll see worry, sleep, exhaustion, hope…all emotions and expression jumbled up into one person, and that made him look older than his age.

Yes, that's me. I have been here for the past two days, my wife's in labor and I have to be here, to pray and do everything possible for her to give birth safely—even if it meant, disturbing every nurse and doctor as they entered and exited the labor room--- I turned the entrance of the labor room to my very own checkpoint.

I was busy 'interrogating' a nurse when I heard the cry of a baby coming out of the room. I quickly pushed her out of my way and rushed inside the room, to see the most beautiful thing I always wished for, my precious treasure… it's a baby girl!!

On that very day, I wrote a poem to commemorate the arrival of my very own pink jet.

We lived in peace and harmony for the next five years after treasure's birth. I wasn't overly rich as you would have imagined, but God blessed us with everything we could ever wished for. A fine house, cars, a beautiful wife, my precious treasure ( my daughter )…and I'm content with that.

Buleria is one of the best countries in abrina continent. Buleria is also known and called as the giant of abrina, due to its large economy and prosperity.

Buleria is home to all kinds of geniuses and different types of people.

This planet is divided into four different continents which are:

1. Isae continent

2. Abrina continent

3. Amrina continue

4. Finna continent.

As I was saying about buleria, buleria was once the giant of abrina but they're only bearing that title in name at the moment. The situation in buleria has deteriorated to the case that nowhere is safe in the Nation.

With guns in hands, kidnappers roam the streets. The northern part of the nation is home to terrorists, vandals and bandits.

Some other countries in the world lay down on their beds at night and sleep off, without minding anything that might happen after. The only sound that can wake them up is the beeping sound of the alarm clock.

Here, we all sleep with one eye open, all our senses on standby, we must find the source of any commotion we hear, even if it's in the middle of the night. A nation where both the rich and the poor live in constant fear.

That's my country, and I'm very…proud…of…it?

Though, finding a job in buleria is harder than winning a lottery. My wife, Selena, works in one of the best oil company in the nation while I as the husband, works as a journalist of some sort.

I owned a blogspot where I post news and all recent happenings in the country. That's just a side job, something I usually do to pass time.

I'm a screenwriter, novelist, poet…anything that deals with writing stuffs, I'm very good at it. In one word, I'm a writer.

" treasure!! Go inside and tell your mummy to do quick, we don't have all day" I said, while smoothening my suit.

The five year old girl ran inside to disturb her mother for the umpteenth Time.

A few minutes later…

A stunningly beautiful woman walked out of the house. A black beauty approached me and I was stunned speechless at the spot where I was standing. The anger on my face vanished immediately as she picked up my jaw from the ground and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.

It's been six years since we married, in all those years I always treat her like an angel, her model like body always drives me insane. In my heart, her love is like a fine wine; it gets better with age.

" Once again

I'm here

To sing praises

Of your stunning beauty.

Let me not bore you with stories

You're endowed with everything

A man wished for in a man

Like fine wine,

You grow more in beauty,

Stronger and intoxicating

With each passing day.

Let me stop here for now

Lest I incur the wrath

I recited a poem I just made up on the spot. She's my muse, if you wished to know.

My little girl met us there, acting lovey dovey. She got jealous and we both hugged her, to show her that we loved her more.

Since everybody is now ready, we got inside the car and I zoomed off. Off to my friend, William's wedding party.

We partied all day till when it's 6:00 pm and it's getting dark outside. I excused myself from the party after bidding our farewells to the newly Weds. We jumped inside the car and zoomed off.

We soon got to a checkpoint. I don't know what happened but I saw about twenty soldiers stopping every vehicle on the road. They're only searching private cars but all commercial cars are free to move—after giving them bribe, that is— and that led to my suspicion.

The soldiers were all wearing the military uniform, but their uniform does no contain the name tag that's supposed to be attached to the chest area of their uniform.

"Get down! We want do stop and search for this motor, we hear say some criminals dey hide bomb for inside car." A burly man who reeks of alcohol from head to toe commanded us to come down from the car. Selena carried the now sleeping treasure in her arms as we got down from the car.

We all were led to a corner where those people said they'll search us one by one.

They were in the middle of searching us when I noticed those guys beginning to surround us.

Suddenly! They all pointed guns at us, and guided us to enter two buses prepared for us and they zoomed off.
