The Only Master in Its Life

My head hurt so much...

As my memories changed, I gnashed my teeth in pain. Even without a mirror, I could tell that my veins must have been bulged and that I had a ferocious look on my face.

Holding my phone, I pushed through the crowd and rushed out of the subway station.

Annie could do nothing but scream hysterically due to the severe pain. Every scream of hers seemed to tear at my heart.

I flagged down a taxi, got in immediately, and said anxiously, "Go to West Serenity Street. Hurry up!"

The driver gave me a stunned look. I guessed he didn't understand why I would take a taxi to the last stop outside the subway station.

I had no choice. I had checked before I came out that the next train would be due in eight minutes. It would be too late!

The driver started the car. I kept looking out the window, searching for Annie and her stepfather.

I didn't think they had spent much time at the subway station. There was a good chance I would meet them on the way!
