7. The Graduation Test

A month passed in a flash and finally, this was time for Ieyasu to go to the Academy. After making at least 50 clones and giving them their jobs, he then going to the Academy together with Hiruzen.

Every students then led to the hall where the Third Hokage will began his speech about Will of Fire. After that, Ieyasu and the other entered their assigned classroom.

Ieyasu's class is at 1-A together with some other kids from the famous clans. Being the most younger from everyone making him to stand out more and it was worsened with addition of him as the son of the late Fourth Hokage.

He also saw Uchiha Itachi amongst the students. He was as stoic as ever, not long after, a teacher for their classroom, that was a middle-aged man with brown hair and average face, arrived.

Six months, it was time for Ieyasu to be hailed as the Genius son of the Fourth. He scored perfect in every test and also get into ranking one in the sparing. With addition of his young age, his fame getting bigger by each time passed.

Not only did his Academy life that was advanced, his actual prowesses also advanced considerably. He had mastered Sealing Technique up to Master level, just one level below the Sannin Jiraya.

After comprehending the Flying Raijin jutsu, he created his own Flying Raijin Seal and used his own kunai different from Minato's. It is created from materials he got after completing Missions from IVY.

The kunai is all black with the handle being coated in the soft fabric with red color that was used to put the Seal. The blade has a symmetrical spear shape that is 8 inches long with a circle on the back of the handle.

And now, Ieyasu was in front of three people, one of them is the Third Hokage and the other two is the village Elders. Right now, Ieyasu was having an assignment for the graduation.

But, it is not the same as the usual test that is just to perform three Academy jutsus. The test Ieyasu was going to face today is to fight against a Jonin. If he could still stand up for 10 minutes then the test finished with Ieyasu passed and become a Genin afterwards, but if he couldn't then he must wait until the next time.

Not long after, the Jonin arrived. He is Mimura Hamaki, a man with short dark hair and brown eyes. He wears the standard attire of the Konoha shinobi inclusive of flak jacket, and hitai-ate that he wears like a bandana. He also carries a tanto strapped to his lower back.

With his teacher at Academy as the referee, they both stepped into the arena and formed seal of confrontation. Mimura had been serious all this time because he knew that Ieyasu was called a genius for a reason.

And maybe if was to lose in this fight against a child, he might be demoted to Chunin even though he just got promoted recently. And that's why, he needs to be serious and not to let his guard down.

"Begin!" ⟨Teacher⟩

With his teacher's cue, Ieyasu quickly dash off towards Mimura surprising him at the display of his speed. In no time, Ieyasu was already in front of the Jonin as he jumped high and sending a kick to the Jonin's side.

Getting out of his trance, Mimura noticed that the child's leg was already in front of him. Quickly dodged it to the side, he looked ahead to see nothing. In terms of strength, Ieyasu is obviously inferior to him, but when it comes to speed he's the winner.

Sensing something from behind, he get down and surprisingly able to dodge a kunai from Ieyasu.

"Futon: Breakthrough!" ⟨Ieyasu⟩

With a couple of hand signs, he took a deep breath before exhaling creating a strong gust of wind heading towards the Jonin who received it head on and blasted off a few meters away.

Shaking his head, the Jonin get up from the ground and took the tanto strapped on his back. He might be not good at Taijutsu or Ninjutsu as Kenjutsu is his selling point.

Ieyasu also took out his normal kunai from the pouch on his waist. He readied himself as the Jonin dashed towards him with a battle cry and slashed vertically.

It was blocked by Ieyasu's kunai but the force behind it sending Ieyasu backwards a few feet. The Jonin smiled as he thought that he can with this and continued his barrage of slashes, stabs, and thrusts to Ieyasu.

He dodged what he can and blocked what he can't dodge but it was comes to an end as he was cornered to the wall. Mimura then placed his tanto on Ieyasu's neck, thinking that he had won the fight.

But then, he sees Ieyasu smiled for the first time for the whole time he was here. And that smile send a shiver down his spine. The next moment, Ieyasu puffed into a smoke and a cold and sharp tip of a kunai suddenly appeared on the Jonin's neck.

"I won." ⟨Ieyasu⟩

Mimura noticed now, that this whole time he was actually just fighting with a clone. He raised both of his arms in defeat.

"The winner, Namikaze Ieyasu." ⟨Teacher⟩

Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

The Third Hokage and the Elders clapped their hands in astonishment seeing the battle between them. Ieyasu put down his kunai and dusted himself off before presenting himself to the Third Hokage.

"That was truly fascinating, Ieyasu-kun. That display of strategy, how you used distraction, everything in it... sigh... I don't even know what rank am I going to place you in right now." ⟨Hiruzen⟩

The two Elders also nodded in agreement at his words. Ieyasu had already surpassed Kakashi, who was graduated at the age of five and became a Chunin at the age of six before being promoted into a Jonin at the age of ten.

But because of his young age, they're confused as to what rank for Ieyasu to be placed. And so after discussing for a while, they decided to put him into Chunin rank.

After receiving his hitai-ate, Ieyasu went back home. Arriving shortly after, he dispelled the clones guarding Narumi. And carries her on his arms as he tell his day to Narumi who just listening while giggling cutely even though doesn't know anything he was saying.

Meanwhile, in a dim room an old man wearing a black and white outfit could be seen with his right eye getting bandaged.

"That child... I need my preparation to be completed faster." ⟨The Bandaged Old Man⟩

He snapped his fingers as two persons came from the shadow of the room kneel down before him.

"Call Orochimaru, we need that projects to be finished more faster." ⟨The Bandaged Old Man⟩

Without giving an answer, the kneeling persons immediately left in a puff of smokes. The Old man looked up at the moon, the only light illuminating the room, his eyes flashed red for a while before faded a few moments later.
