"We should get going," Kakashi suggested, placing a hand on Shikadai's shoulder to get his attention.
Shikadai nodded in agreement, and they both left the training ground. As they moved, Kakashi took the opportunity to teach Shikadai a simple technique to lessen the sound made when jumping and to enhance his stealth skills.
Meanwhile, Boruto, in the middle of a downward slash, abruptly turned towards the forest. He had a nagging feeling that someone was watching him.
Tenten lightly tapped his head with the wooden sword, bringing him back to reality. "What are you looking at?" she asked, curious about his sudden distraction.
"I felt like someone was watching me," Boruto confessed, still looking towards the forest.
Tenten's mind immediately jumped to a possible explanation. 'They must be the Anbu assigned to protect Boruto,' she thought to herself.
"Focus on the training," she urged, trying to bring Boruto's attention back to their session.
"I understand," Boruto responded, turning his gaze away from the forest and back to Tenten. He gripped his sword tighter and prepared to continue their training.
7.30 pm,
Both Boruto and Tenten were so engrossed in their training that they lost track of time. It was only when Boruto glanced up and noticed the darkening sky that he realized how late it was.
"It's already dark, shit," Boruto cursed under his breath, thinking about his mother's reaction. "My mom's going to kill me."
Tenten chuckled at his worry. "Let's clean up, and I'll walk you home. Hinata won't be mad; I can handle her," she assured him.
With that, Tenten began packing up their training equipment. She carefully placed each weapon back into her scroll, securing them away for the next training session. Once everything was packed up, she accompanied Boruto on the walk back to his home.
As they made their way home, Boruto turned to Tenten and said, "Thank you for teaching me."
Tenten smiled at him and replied, "No problem. Just promise me that you'll become a strong ninja, just like you said."
Boruto grinned at her words. "I won't go back on my words, just like I said I'd marry you if you're still single," he teased.
Tenten rolled her eyes, but a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. She placed her hand on his head and ruffled his hair a bit. "Shut up," she said, her tone light and playful.
"Understood," Boruto replied, chuckling.
A few minutes later, Boruto and Tenten arrived at Boruto's home. Boruto knocked on the door, and it was promptly opened by Hinata, with little Himawari peeking out from behind her.
"Where have you been?" Hinata asked, her voice laced with concern.
"I was training with Tenten-sensei," Boruto replied, trying to sound casual.
"We lost track of time. I'm sorry, Hinata," Tenten quickly added, hoping to ease any worries.
Hinata looked at them both, her confusion evident. "Huh? When did you ask Tenten to teach you, Boruto?" she asked, turning to her son.
Meanwhile, Tenten waved at Himawari, who was shyly hiding behind Hinata. The little girl responded with a cute smile.
"Yesterday," Boruto answered his mother's question.
Understanding dawned on Hinata's face. "Come in, Tenten," she offered, stepping aside to let her in.
"It's fine," Tenten declined politely. She turned to Boruto and said, "See you tomorrow, Boruto. Our training will start early, around 3 pm."
"Okay," Boruto replied, giving her a thumbs up.
With a final wave, Tenten flickered away, leaving Boruto and his family at the doorstep.
"I'm going to take a shower," Boruto announced, making his way to the bathroom. After freshening up, he headed to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator in search of something to eat. He grabbed some bread and a jar of jam, placing them on the dining table.
He carefully spread some jam on the bread and began to eat. Just then, he saw Hinata walk into the room. A warm smile spread across his face at the sight of his mother.
"Kaa-san, can I ask for your help?" Boruto asked, swallowing a bite of his sandwich.
"Hmm, what is it?" Hinata responded, her attention fully on her son.
"Can you teach me Medical Jutsu?" Boruto requested, hopeful.
"Sure," Hinata agreed easily. "Can I ask you something, Boruto?"
"Hmm," Boruto hummed in response, taking another bite of his sandwich.
"Why did you ask Tenten to teach you?" Hinata asked, curious about his decision.
Boruto shrugged as he chewed. "She's one of your friends and she has a lot of experience with weapons. That's all," he answered. "Is that all, Kaa-san?"
"Yes, also remember to clean up the table. Have a good night's sleep, okay?" Hinata reminded him, leaning in to plant a kiss on his forehead before heading back to her room.
Next day, Around 9.50 am,
With a loud thud, the fish flopped from the table and hit the ground, startling Hinata who was standing nearby. Boruto, who had been practicing his Medical Jutsu, quickly rushed to pick up the fish and place it back on the table.
"Finally, I made it," Boruto said with a smile, wiping the sweat from his forehead. Hinata couldn't believe how quickly her son had learned the technique. She had always known that Boruto was talented, but his progress with the Medical Jutsu had surpassed her expectations.
As she watched her son work, Hinata couldn't help but wonder if his younger sister, Himawari, was just as talented. She looked over at Himawari, who was sitting nearby, and wondered if she too had inherited the same level of skill as Boruto.
Boruto's rapid progress with the Medical Jutsu could be attributed to his modern era knowledge and his talented body. Hinata couldn't be more proud of her son and his natural talent.
With a quick two-finger salute at his original self, Boruto's clone disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving Boruto alone in the room. He turned to his mother and announced his plans for the day.
"Kaa-san, I'm going out soon with Shikadai," Boruto said.
Hinata nodded in agreement, a small smile on her face. She was happy to see her son spending time with his friends and enjoying himself. Boruto quickly set to work cleaning up the kitchen table that he had been using, making sure to leave it spotless before he left the house.
With his preparations complete, Boruto quickly made his way out of the house and toward the Nara clan house.
As Boruto arrived at the Nara clan house, he saw Shikadai walking out of the gate with a nonchalant expression on his face. Boruto's face lit up with a smile as he greeted his best friend.
"Yo!" Boruto called out, raising his hand in a friendly wave.
Shikadai mirrored the gesture, replying with a casual "Yo" of his own. The two boys exchanged knowing glances, both eager to start their day of adventure and excitement.
"Let's get going," Shikadai said.
"Sure," Boruto replied.
As Shikadai was about to head out, his mother Nara Temari suddenly appeared from the entrance door. She looked at her son and reminded him, "Remember to return early, Shikadai. Your shinobi training hasn't finished yet."
Shikadai replied with a simple "Okay," but muttered under his breath, "What a drag."
Temari, who had sharp ears, heard what Shikadai said and closed her eyes, trying to hold back her anger. She turned to Shikadai and asked, "You just said 'What a drag' under your breath, didn't you?"
Boruto, who was nearby and listening closely, couldn't help but chuckle at Shikadai's miserable life. He also saw an opportunity to learn wind style Jutsu from Temari.
Feeling confident, Boruto raised his hand and asked, "Can I join the training session?"
Shikadai glanced at Boruto and whispered, "Are you crazy?"
Boruto just smiled back at Shikadai, unfazed by his friend's reaction.
"You are crazy," Shikadai muttered, observing Boruto's reaction.
Temari was a bit taken aback by Boruto's request since he usually left. After a moment of contemplation, she finally said with a nod, "...Okay."
The three of them were at the backyard of the Nara head clan house. Temari had already made Shikadai run around the backyard while using Chakra, and he was having the worst time of his life.
Temari noticed that Shikadai was getting tired and warned him, "If I notice that you say 'what a drag' again, I'll double your laps."
Shikadai let out a sigh and just endured the pain of running around. The thought of having to run even more laps was unbearable, so he tried his best to focus on the training, hoping to avoid any further punishment.
Boruto cut straight to the point and asked, "Can I learn some wind jutsu?"
Temari was a bit confused but also curious, so she asked, "Why do you want to learn from me when your father is the best wind style user?"
Boruto explained, "Well, he can't teach me much and he's been very busy with his Hokage work lately."
Temari smiled and agreed to teach Boruto a few jutsu. "Sure, I can teach you a few jutsu," she said. "Let me show you an example."
Temari performed the hand signs for Serpent, Ram, Boar, Horse, Bird, and then clasped her palms together. She quickly extended her right palm in front, releasing a compressed wind.
Temari gave Boruto some advice, "If you put more chakra into it, you can make it even more devastating." As she turned around, she was surprised to see Boruto performing the same hand signs and releasing a compressed wind.
"Hmm, if I compress it even further, I can use this as an assassin move," Boruto muttered, putting his hand on his chin.
Temari was shocked to see that Boruto had picked it up so quickly, but then she remembered that Naruto was his father. "Boruto," she called out.
Boruto snapped out of his thoughts and said, "Yes?"
"Do you want to learn other wind style jutsu?" Temari asked.
"I can?" Boruto was surprised, thinking that Temari would only teach him one jutsu. He was excited to learn more and eager to see what else he could do.
Temari proceeded to teach Boruto three more wind styles: Wind Style: Air Bullet, Wind Style: Breakthrough, and Wind Style: Gale Blade. Boruto picked up each jutsu on his first try. Wind Style: Air Bullet was a jutsu that created a powerful bullet of air, while Wind Style: Breakthrough was similar to Water Style: Water Trumpet. The last jutsu, Wind Style: Gale Blade, created wind slashes.
Once Temari finished teaching Boruto, Shikadai finally finished his laps and took a seat on the ground nearby. Temari was fascinated by how quickly Boruto had learned the jutsu. She was tempted to teach him some of her own jutsu using the fan, but she decided against it since Boruto was only a friend of Shikadai and not someone from her family.
Boruto smiled and thanked Temari for teaching him the new jutsu. However, he suddenly remembered that he had a training session scheduled with Tenten. "Temari-san, I just remembered that I have a training session with Tenten-sensei. So, I'll be leaving first," he said while scratching the back of his head.
"It's fine, go ahead," Temari replied.
Boruto made his way to where he would train with Tenten. Meanwhile, Temari looked at her son and said, "Get up, your training is not done yet."
Shikadai couldn't believe what was happening. Normally, his mother didn't train him at such a fast pace. But after seeing how quickly Boruto had learned the new jutsu, Temari was fired up to make her son stronger.
