I never saw the Truck that hit me. In fact I'm pretty sure that the traffic was nonexistent when I went to cross the road, and I know that I definitely checked both ways before crossing.
Hmmm... actually with how out of nowhere the Truck appeared, it might have been the legendary Truck-kun himself that did it.
Not super important though. What is important is that when I opened my eyes, I was in an unfamiliar place.
It almost looks like I tripped and fell into someone's model train diorama. I mean those mountains look pretty detailed, but aren't they way too small? And that river seems to use actual Water, so props to the modeler, but it's only as wide as my pinky.
That's when I noticed the Castle in the near foreground, approximately 20m away from me. But it looked like it was built for Lego minifigures with how small it was. I estimated that it wasn't more than a meter tall. I mean it was a big impressive Castle for its scale, but absolutely tiny for me.
I stood up, trying not to damage the scenery, although that was way easier said than done. However because I know how much effort it takes to make detailed terrain at this scale, from my attempts to make Wargaming Terrain, I didn't want to destroy some hobbyist's hard work.
I approached the Castle to take a closer look at the details, when I suddenly saw something that really surprised me... there seemed to be an army of people coming out of the trees, but they were all Lego minifigure scale!
I stopped, and crouched down. I wanted to take a closer look at these figures that seemed to move on their own. As I looked at them, they seemed to have stopped in their tracks.
I guess they noticed me? Because they seem to be panicked and running around in groups. Oh, wait that one seems to be trying to organize them? I want a closer look at that one.
I reached over and picked up the one giving the orders. They tried to run away, but the sheer size difference made it hard for them to move enough distance in time. I was slightly surprised at this, because usually bugs were so much faster at running away. Maybe it's because 2 legs instead of 6.
Anyway, after I grabbed them as if pinching with my thumb and forefinger, I held my left hand in front of me palm up, and dropped the figure on it. At this closer range, I was able to tell that this individual was wearing full plate armour, with a Crown molded into the helmet. I tried tugging the helmet off, and while at first it caught because of a chin strap, the individual on my hand quickly undid the chin strap, gasping for air after.
Oops, I may have accidentally been choking... I think it's a her? I suppose it might just be a guy with a feminine face. Hard to tell.
At this point I spoke for the first time to this individual. "Who, and what, are you?"
At the sound of my voice, all the scurrying around below me abruptly stopped, and it looked like every figure turned to look at me.
Oh, maybe they don't understand English. They can probably tell that I just spoke, but they might not understand the content?
"I'm Kiera, Queen of Resquintia. Who are you, and why have you kidnapped me?"
A quiet voice was carried to my ear. Actually, looking at the figure on my hand, maybe it was shouting for them? Hmmm, well it doesn't seem to carry that well. I guess the soundwaves run out of energy quickly at that scale.
"I'm John. And I just picked you up out of curiosity. I have never seen such tiny beings before. Hmmm... looks like you have an army with you. Are you attacking that Castle over there?"
I moved my hand closer to my ear in order to try and here the reply better. She seemed to realize why I was doing that, because she seemed to cup her hands around her mouth before replying. Wait, what's that small blue sparkly light effect near her face?
"That's my Castle. We're returning after a Skirmish against a kingdom that was trying to invade us. Where have you come from to suddenly be in our lands?"
Oh wow, her voice was much louder all of a sudden! I subconsciously lowered her a bit to try and reduce the volume, but it didn't seem to affect it.
"Why are you suddenly so loud, and what was that blue glow before you replied..."
Wait a moment, my brain just triggered into overdrive. That was probably Magic. If that Castle really is hers, then I'm probably not in a diorama, but another World. Which means right now I'm a big, terrifying invader.
Deciding that I may not want to antagonize the locals anymore than I already have, I lowered my hand to the ground in the vicinity of her army. Maybe 100m away at their scale? It was only about 2" for me, but I didn't want to risk accidentally crushing something and coming across as more of a monster than I already do.
"Sorry, I just grabbed without thinking. Where I come from, people like you are an impossibility. So I initially mistook you for toys, or models."
"And where exactly are you from? Do we have to worry about more Titans rampaging through our lands?"
Wow, even though she was on the ground, I was hearing her at a 'normal' volume. I stood up from the crouching position I had been in, stretching my legs in the process.
I looked back at where I had initially found myself. There was a large imprint in the ground, that looked suspiciously like I had been laying there on my stomach. Well, that tracks with how I found myself.
I pointed at the area, "I awoke over there. I don't know how I ended up over there. But I don't think that you have to worry about more people like me if I'm right about how I got here."
"We can't see what you're pointing at from down here. How do you think you got here?"
"Magic, after I died in my own world. The imprint in the ground almost looks like I fell there."
"Wait, are you a fallen God?!?"
I sensed panic in her voice at that notion. I started laughing. "No, I'm most definitely not a God. For starters I can't use Magic. Also where I come from, I was very much an uninteresting mortal."
"Do you plan to stay around this area then?"
I heard worry and concern in the voice this time. Probably concerned about how much food it would take to feed me, and the effect on her lands.
"I don't currently have any plans. I'm still trying to get my bearings. I might go check out the other areas I can find."
I realized at this point that I could see a large body of Water past the indent I had left in the terrain. Curious, I headed over there without a second thought.
When I got closer I realized that it was probably the Ocean, as even with my great height compared to my surroundings, I couldn't see the other side.
I stepped into the water, just enough that it wasn't even above my ankles, and followed the shore that went off to my right.
