A Love Not Bargened For

It was the morning of Halloween in a small town of 5,446. Obi a freshman in college, fresh out of high school had just gotten up and looked out his window. "Wow what a pretty blue sky. As he stretches and get out of bed. "Hmm today's gonna be a good day I can feel it!" He thinks to himself as he goes down to the kitchen to eat breakfast and start the day. Luke his best friend, who is also a freshman in college, right out of high school was already on the first floor of the two story building that their parents bought them for college.

Obi says, "Morning, Luke!"

Then jumps from the 4th stair from the bottom of the staircase and with a loud, boom! Then lands on his feet and then walks over to Luke who is making breakfast.

Luke laughs and replies, "Morning Obi, ready for the Halloween festival and dance?"

Obi blushing and says with a loud but nervous tone of voice "No way, I don't have a date!"

Luke patts him on the back reassuringly "Oh, you'll find one."

"Psh...easy for you to say, you have a girlfriend and have had her for 4 years, with no break ups and getting back together after the heat's off."

laughingly "Okay point taken, but there are tons of pretty girls out there for you to ask out and take to the festival and dance."

Obi smile but still a little nervous "I hope so."

"I have faith that you can and if not I can always set you up with a girl."

Luke raises his eyebrowse up and down "huh, huh"

Obi lightly hits Luke's shoulder, hollow laugh "ha no way."

"okay but if you change your mind you know where to find me"

hollow laugh "yeah"

Thinking to himself as he walks out onto the patio and closing the door behind him, "Can I really find someone to ask out?"

Across town in a small 3 bedroom house two girls were getting ready to get their hair and makeup done for the dance that night and to be judged to see out of 15 girls to see who would be crowned fall princess of the Halloween fall festival.

Levy yelling up the staircase "come on Meldy were gonna be late for our solon appointment!"

Meldy laughing as she runs around the corner to go down the stairs "I'm hurrying give me a minute would you!"

Levy jokingly "Ha we don't have a minute, now come on times wasting we gotta get to the solon then to the festival stage in the center of town before noon or we'll be disqualified."

"Okay, okay I'm coming."

Door opens and shuts as they walk out, and down the sidewalk to the car and get in.

meldy "So did you choose your make-up and hair style yet."

"Yep sure did I picked a braided updo and a soft blush to go with the foundation I already have and a dark black ish purple ribbon to put in my hair and best of all it matches my dress perfectly. What about you did you pick anything special up or are you gonna wing it with what you already have?"

"Nope not gonna wing it. I got a light powder foundation and a rosy red blush. Then for my hair I thought I'd do a curly half up half down braided hairstyles."

Shows a picture of the idea.

"Aw that looks so cool, and your blush will match your foundation beautifully."

enthusiastically "Thanks that means a lot coming from you!"

"how come?"

"Well you've always been there for me, even through my parents divorce when I was less desirable to be around."

"Ah you were going through a pretty rough patch, what was I supposed to do leave?

laughingly "

Ha guess your right."

"hmm I know I'm right"

Both girls laugh till tears, as they wipe away their tears levy pulls the car into the parking lot and both girls get out and walk into the salon. Ching! door opens and closes slowly behind them.

Miss Lucy at the register greets them as they come in the door.

"Good morning girls here for your hair appointments?"

Both girls answer. "Yes ma'am!"

"Okay Juvia will be with you in a moment, you can have a seat over there while you wait."

"Thank you!"

Miss Lucy smiles lightly and goes back to work writing in her log book.

10 minutes later, Lucy says "Alright girls I got two seats open meldy tell Juvia what you want and Levy I'll be the one doing your hair and makeup today so you come tell me what your looking for."

Both girl "Okay, thank you!"

2 hours later

Meldy in a tired tone of voice"Uhhh I thought we were never gonna get out of there."

Levy in a jokingly voice"Oh meldy she was hurrying you just couldn't make up your mind on how you wanted your makeup to look."

"Haha I guess you're right."

"Ha I know I'm right now let's get going before we're late!"

"Okay!'
