Chapter one

I couldn't believe what I had just heard. It had to be a lie, if not, my dad was messing with me, this had to be a sick joke of his. There was no way in hell that what he had just said to me was relatively close to the truth.

I wholeheartedly denied it with all my being. So what did I do you ask? I laughed...hard

"Wow, dad, nice one. You had me going for a sec."

I pat his shoulder as I walked past him, still laughing while shaking my head at him.

"I wasn't joking Clover, I'm serious."

Stopping in my tracks, I slowly turned to him and eyed him. Looking for that glimmer in his eyes that always shone whenever he was pranking me. It wasn't there.

No....no, no, no, no!

This wasn't real, I had to be in some sick, twisted nightmare. I knew I should not have eaten that spaghetti last night. It did look a bit odd, not to mention the questionable taste it had.

Whether dream or not my panic was very much real. I felt my throat close up as bile rose to clog it up. My eyes frantically moved about, looking everywhere but at my father.

The pace of my breaths became laboured and it felt like I was hit by a bus.

Which I had no idea what it was like at all but thought it was similar to this feeling.

My body shivered but not from the cold, it was impossible to shiver because of the cold when it was over thirty degrees Celsius.

"No, no you're lying! This isn't real. Yeah, I'm in some awful dream. My real dad wouldn't allow something like this to happen. Not in a million years."

I was starting to talk nonsense now. But could you blame me? I was panicking here!

"Clover, it's already been decided. Your mom and I already agreed to this. We have everything packed and ready to go."

So while I was out of town with my grandparents, they were busy packing our lives into small boxes and shipping them off to some other place...behind my back?!

"What! You guys didn't even talk to me! Or ask me!"

He sighed out in frustration running a hand through his black hair with grey streaks in it.

"I know, I know. But we didn't have enough time to discuss it with you, besides we didn't want to disturb your special time with Nona and Pops."

"I refuse I say...Refuse!"

I screamed at my father, voice firm with my hands crossed, scowling at him. There was no way I was agreeing to move over to a new state, to a place I've never visited before, or even knew anyone in!

"Clover please, we need this change. Your mom needs it. Besides what is it that's even keeping you here?"

"Uhm, besides the fact that I've lived here my entire life and have my own things going on?"

I questioned with a brow raised hands sassily placed on my hips.

"What things might that be?"

So, how do you tell your dad, you don't want to move from a small outcast town, with basically no friends, because you've been stalking a senior at your school for the past three years?

Think he'll want to stay if I tell the truth?

"Well...things like...teenage girl stuff. You wouldn't understand."

I scrambled out in panic. Playing the teen girl card was my best bet. He doesn't know a thing about us teenage girls. Even if he did he wouldn't want to know exactly what his "precious girl" has been conjuring up in her messed-up head.

"Well I'm sure I'd understand then"

Oh, great she just had to show up? Giving my mother a side glance she smirked quirking a brow at me.

The fact that she knows exactly what I was talking about, but asked anyway cause she wanted to mess with me, did not help at all.

A few weeks back she went into my room and just decided to clean it out of the blue. She went under my bed and found my box filled with my most precious memories of stalking Steven McCoy.

It's not as bad as it sounds though, I swear!

They were just a few pics I took of him when he wasn't looking...a lock of his hair, a pencil he had chewed out then threw away and my most favourite, a list of names for our future kids.

See, not that bad, at least I didn't collect his blood to create a voodoo doll or something....hehe

Anyway, my mom found the box and I found her with the box waiting for me on my bed. Seriously though, how could she go through my things? Talk about privacy.

And what was she doing cleaning anyway, she never cleans, especially my room. What bad timing the woman has.

"Mom you're over a century. I highly doubt you'd be able to understand the mind of a 21st-century teenager."

I arched a brow at her, giving a pointed look.

She huffed at me and returned to the kitchen, proceeding with her banging of pots and pans.

Wait...was she cooking? Oh lord have mercy!

"Whatever the reason is we are still moving and that's final"

He turned to leave, signalling the end of this conversation.

Sighing out loud I walked into the living room and carelessly threw my body onto the couch next to my six-year-old sister. I huffed then turned to the doey-eyed cutie. Her hair was styled in two pigtails and she kept herself preoccupied with the television, loudly sucking on a lollipop.

"Life really is hard huh Syl."

She turned her eyes away from the big screen to look at me. Releasing the sticky sweet from her even stickier lips, she raised the lollipop toward me giving me a big toothy grin displaying her missing front tooth.

I smiled at the cute gesture and sucked the sticky contraption still in her hand, releasing it with a "pop"

Her smile grew even wider if that was even possible. Sticking the sweet back into her mouth she shifted her attention back to the screen.

Huh....well at least Syl is coping with this.
