Andrew, an autistic teenage boy living in Washington D.C., meets a young girl, Candy, who truly understands him. Andrew is put in a home for being 'too close' to Candy. Years later, Andrew is released. The oppressed pair meet up again, and this time, Candy is 'of age'. But it soon becomes apparent that the consequences of their connection in youth are still hot on their heels.
