Chapter 13

At three o'clock in the afternoon, as the bell rang, school ended.

Lip took Karen's hand and they left early.

But what neither of them knew was that they were about to become famous at school.

Lip's confrontation with the gangster students was filmed by some onlookers and posted on the campus network.

This incident made Lip and Karen famous, but that was all later.

They were walking happily down the road.

By the time the last class started that afternoon, Lip had collected a total of $1,025 in mental damages.

However, Peter did not come to Lip to pay the tuition as agreed.

Lip didn't take it to heart.

Because his mind was focused on another matter—after getting rich, the first thing to do is spend money!

When Lip told Karen this and prepared to split the money with her, she immediately refused.

She took Lip to a cheap clothing store.

After Karen helped Lip pick out a full outfit for him, spending less than $100 in total, she took his arm and walked toward her home.

Though the money had come from Lip, he was still very happy.

I have to say, clothes really make a difference.

After Karen dressed him up, Lip looked completely new and handsome!

"Is there something on my face?" Lip asked.

"No!"

"Then why do you keep glancing at me?"

"Oops, don't people think you're so plump and handsome that they can't help but look at you more?" Karen blushed.

Lip felt great at that moment!

Her words greatly satisfied his vanity.

"Mua~" Karen kissed Lip with a sweet smile on her face. "Lipp, I dreamed of you last night!"

"Miss me so much?"

"Hehe, I don't miss you!" Karen's sweet smile turned a little naughty.

She reached out and grabbed Lip: "Guess who I'm thinking of?"

It must be said that when a girl who looks as pure and beautiful as an angel turns into a little temptress in front of you, it's impossible for a strong-blooded man to stay calm. At that moment, Lip was completely stunned.

"Wow, I haven't seen you all night, but Little Lip seems to have changed a lot!" Karen's face was pink, her eyes starry.

"Well, let me arrange it tonight so that Little Lip and your sister Little Karen can have a good discussion!" Lip teased.

"Ah? I don't have a sister!"

Karen obviously didn't understand the deeper meaning of Lip's words.

So Lip leaned in and whispered something in her ear. Karen's face and ears immediately turned bright red.

"Lip, you are so mean!"

"Hehe, men are not bad, but women don't love them!"

"Big bad guy, I'm going to hit you!"

Karen and Lip were laughing and playing on the road.

When they passed by the flower shop, Lip bought Karen a large bouquet of roses.

When they passed the fruit shop and bakery, Lip bought fruits and pastries as gifts.

Soon, they arrived at her home.

"Mom, Lip and I are back!" Karen called out.

"Honey, you can play for a while, I'm still busy making dinner," came her mom's response.

However, Karen, who had been smiling just a moment ago, suddenly became cold when she saw the man sitting in the living room, drinking coffee and reading a newspaper. "Haha, you're here too," she said, stiffly.

That man was clearly Karen's father, Eddie.

After glancing sideways at Karen and Lip, he went back to reading his newspaper.

"Hi, uncle, your daughter is greeting you!" Lip said cheerfully.

"Boy, who are you? It's not your turn to speak here," Eddie replied coldly.

"He's my boyfriend!" Karen yelled loudly. "Lipp, let's go to the room and ignore him."

"Fool, trust me. Now that I'm here, let me face and solve some people and problems!" Lip said as he placed both hands on Karen's shoulders and gazed at her tenderly.

Karen smiled, feeling at ease. She nodded firmly. "Yes!"

"Hi, Mr. Eddie, my name is Philip Gallagher, but you can call me Lip," Lip said with a smile, not pretending at all.

"Gallagher?"

"Uh-huh~"

"Oh Shet!" Eddie's disgust was clear. He nearly shouted, "Get out!"

"Eddie, how could you be so rude?!" Mrs. Sheila asked, spreading her hands.

Eddie's posture suddenly softened.

"Boy, what are you doing here?"

"Just visiting and playing!" Lip said casually, placing the fruits and pastries in front of Eddie and then staring directly at him.

Eddie felt like he was being stared at by a ferocious beast. The discomfort crawled over him, and he even got goosebumps.

Lip pulled up a chair and sat across from Eddie.

Eddie looked at Lip, who was still staring at him with a half-smile. His eyes started to dart nervously.

Lip couldn't help but think, This Eddie really is something. A coward who desperately wants face, yet full of resentment inside.

Because he cares so much about his reputation, Eddie never dares to show anger.

Because of his bitterness, he ignores Karen.

Because he's timid, he becomes nervous in the face of Lip's confidence.

Lip thought to himself: My future father-in-law is really tangled and contradictory!
