With the massive summoned serpent Manda joining the battlefield, the casualties among Kumogakure's forces escalated rapidly. For the average Genin and Chunin, their attacks against Manda were little more than an itch.
"I'm heading out," Mirai announced, seeing that Kumogakure's formation had been thrown into disarray. With a flicker, he vanished from atop Manda's head.
...
When Mirai appeared amidst the Kumogakure shinobi, they jolted in surprise before quickly surrounding him.
"Cocky Konoha brat! You think you can just walk in here and look down on us,?!"
"Kill him!"
"Hah! A Uchiha, delivered right to us... this'll make for some commendations!"
"Rip out his eyes! Then our village can wield the Sharingan too!"
Hearing their arrogant taunts, Mirai's face twisted with a slight sneer as he casually broke a Kumogakure shinobi's neck.
"Do you all want to dance too?"
His Sharingan's three tomoe spun rapidly, and Mirai moved gracefully, almost like a dancer, weaving through the ranks of Kumogakure's shinobi. Each strike was precise, every move claiming another life.
Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward plundered: Chakra +1!
Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward plundered: Mental Strength +1!
Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward plundered: Physique +1!
"Too slow," Mirai muttered, unsatisfied, as the system notifications rang in his mind. Such an opportunity, but if he could only plunder rewards at this pace, it felt like a waste.
In the next moment, he rapidly weaved hand signs.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Poof! A series of clones appeared in a circle around him, each one joining him in weaving hand seals.
"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!"
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
The flames, enhanced by the wind jutsu, exploded outward, engulfing everything around them in a sea of fire. Screams erupted as the stench of charred flesh filled the air. Meanwhile, the system's notifications continued to echo in Mirai's mind.
"Now that's more like it," Mirai said with a satisfied grin. But to the Kumogakure shinobi, that smile was that of a demon from the depths of hell, brimming with insanity and bloodlust.
"Don't be afraid!" a Kumogakure commander shouted. "No matter how strong he is, he can't take on all of us forever! So long as we hold out, this brat will run out of chakra eventually!"
His words barely finished when Mirai's hand pierced his heart. "Nice idea, but too bad... you'll never get to see that moment."
Just then, a bolt of blue lightning sliced through the darkness, and a huge creature—a beast with the head of a bull and the body of an octopus—charged toward Manda.
"Orochimaru, tonight's the night you die!"
"My brother's right! Konoha will fall! We're putting in work, otherwise, we're not pulling our weight—could even be seen as criminal hate!"
"Bee, shut up!"
With a deafening roar, Ay and the fully transformed Killer Bee launched their attacks on Orochimaru and Manda. With their arrival, Kumogakure's forces managed to halt the tide of the one-sided slaughter, forcing Orochimaru and Manda into a retreat.
Mirai cast a quick glance in their direction, then dismissed it, focusing entirely on reaping the lives of the shinobi around him.
As Orochimaru and Manda were occupied, Kumogakure's elite ninja began to converge on his position.
"Hahaha! Lord Ay and Lord Bee are here! Konoha's defeat is certain—kill this arrogant Uchiha brat!"
"You've killed so many of us, there's no escape for you today!"
"Die, you bastard!"
Though these elite shinobi weren't much of a threat to Mirai, they were starting to slow his progress. Annoyed, he stopped fighting them directly and used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport to a new location.
"What the—why is he suddenly over there?" In a time when the Flying Thunder God Technique was still shrouded in mystery, few in the shinobi world understood its true power. To these Kumogakure shinobi, Mirai seemed like a phantom, always managing to reappear in the weakest areas of their formations.
Ding! Congratulations, Host! Reward plundered...
Ordinary Kumogakure ninja fell by the dozens, and the elites grew more and more furious, grinding their teeth in frustration. Every time they neared him, he'd vanish, only to reappear in another vulnerable area, leaving them chasing shadows, worn out and exasperated.
As he watched the carnage unfold, Mirai's excitement only grew. This was supposed to be a battle, but he was treating it like a game of mowing down grass. With his attributes rapidly increasing, his body was in peak condition the entire time. If given enough time, Mirai felt he could kill every single Kumogakure ninja on this battlefield alone.
With their mounting losses, the Kumogakure shinobi around him finally began to break. After countless attempts and hundreds of deaths, they'd come to a single, grim realization—
If they kept fighting, they'd all die by this Uchiha demon's hand.
Thus, a strange scene unfolded. Uchiha Mirai, drenched in blood like a demon escaped from hell, chased after thousands of fleeing Kumogakure shinobi. In his wake, these once-fierce warriors abandoned their weapons and fled for their lives.
Their only thought now was to run—as fast and as far as possible—to escape this nightmare.
Their panic spread, and soon, other Kumogakure shinobi, seeing their comrades running for their lives, followed suit in confusion, creating a mass retreat.
Konoha's ninja stood stunned at the sight.
What's going on? The mighty Kumogakure forces… routed by a single Uchiha?!
...
Boom! Manda's massive body was sent flying once again, carving a deep trench into the ground.
"Orochimaru, I've done my part. Remember our deal." Manda glared before dissolving into a cloud of smoke, vanishing from the battlefield.
Orochimaru, bruised and panting, barely restrained his urge to curse. By their original plan, Mirai was supposed to assist him against Ay and Bee as soon as they appeared. But after all this time, he hadn't even caught a glimpse of the boy. Now, with Manda gone, he was left facing two of the strongest opponents alone.
"Do I have to retreat?" Orochimaru's face twisted in frustration, but he knew he had no choice. Facing Ay and Killer Bee in his current state, he'd likely end up dead.
But just as he prepared to signal a retreat, Ay suddenly transformed into a bolt of lightning and sped off in another direction. Staring after him in disbelief, Orochimaru finally noticed that, somewhere along the way, the entire Kumogakure force had broken ranks. A lone, blood-soaked figure was chasing after them, reaping lives as they fled.
Orochimaru's mouth fell open, utterly stunned.
In the time he'd been struggling with Ay and Bee… Mirai had single-handedly broken the Kumogakure army.
