On the sea, these two killing machine surrounded the Green Hat Pirate Ship and began their slaughter. Pirate ships were either shattered by Bemei or wiped out by Bein. In just a moment, large chunks of wreckage could be seen scattered all over the sea.
Many pirates, upon seeing these two meat grinder-like demons, were terrified. Without needing the captain's command, they began steering their ships to flee the area.
The situation on the sea became chaotic. Pirates from behind, unaware of what was happening, shouted loudly and tried to rush forward. The pirate ships inside, fearing they would be targeted by the demons, scattered like sheep being driven by wolves, desperately fleeing in all directions.
In the panic, some ships collided with each other, causing piles of blocked vessels to appear on the sea, almost like the traffic jams in Kado's past life. What was even more tragic was that some of these ships collided in a chain reaction, with smaller pirate ships being instantly crushed into thin sheets by the force of the crashes.
The chaos on the sea also affected the ships behind. Seeing the fleeing pirate ships coming straight at them like they had fire on their tails, Kado could only steer the Kado to avoid the collisions. Their smaller boat couldn't withstand such impacts.
"Holy shit, what's wrong with these assholes, when there's an advantage, they run faster than me, now that they know the danger, they actually want to bump into me" Kado loudly cursed at the pirate ships around him, which were now in a state of panic. These guys couldn't even be bothered to retort, not even sparing him a glance as they quickly steered their ships to escape.
"What's going on up ahead? These guys seem really scared," Fite frowned, looking at the chaotic crowd in the distance. The sight was still a bit far off, and he hadn't yet realized the slaughter caused by Bein and the others.
"It seems like there are two fleas, jumping from this ship to that one, and then these guys went crazy." After enhancing his speed, Kado's sensitivity had greatly improved, allowing him to vaguely understand certain situations. This extraordinary reaction and observation ability, far beyond that of ordinary people, made him start to doubt whether the speed enhancement also involved a strengthening of his Observation Haki. According to his understanding from his previous life's anime, Observation Haki grants a much faster reaction time than normal, allowing one to predict the movements of others and keenly sense what they are doing. His current abilities seemed somewhat similar to this, but Kado couldn't fully believe that speed enhancement was the cause of this. The effects were quite different from his previous life's understanding of speed, and as a result, he remained skeptical.
In the novels from Kado's previous life, all speed enhancements meant that after the enhancement, one could run very fast. But now, the enhancement on his speed through the crucifix was actually improving his reaction speed, which was a huge difference. Because of this, Kado couldn't believe it, but it wasn't entirely unexpected either.
"Two fleas!" Fite frowned deeply. He really didn't know how to make sense of Kado's explanation. These pirates could never have been scared into fleeing just because of fleas.
Time passed quickly, and the sunset had already shrunk to just the upper half of the sun, with the lower half hidden on the other side of the Earth.
The glowing red of sunset cast a brilliant light, staining the sea and the ships with a bloody hue.
The chaos had reduced significantly, and the Kado ship slowly approached the vicinity of the Green Hat Pirate Crew.
At this moment, Fite finally understood what Kado had meant by "two fleas." Those were two figures, drenched in blood, jumping from one broken pirate ship to another.
With each leap, the once intact pirate ships were reduced to shattered wrecks. The pirates on board screamed for help, or leapt into the sea themselves, hoping to escape the pursuit of these two demons.
"Hey, help us! Please save us!"
On the sea near the Kado ship, many pirates who had fallen into the water were shouting loudly, hoping that Kado and Fite would lend a hand and pull them out of the sea. After all, being soaked in the water was an uncomfortable experience.
Fite threw a rope from the ship's side, and the pirate, along with some of his fellow shipmates who had fallen into the water, scrambled up to safety.
"Hey, what the hell happened? How did you end up like this?" Fite asked the pirate who had just called for help.
This pirate was the one who had been thrown off the plank by Beimei earlier. Now, he was soaking wet, with a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. It seemed that the impact from being thrown by Beimei had left him with some serious injuries.
"Do you really need to ask? It's obvious." The pirate gave Fite a look as if he were an idiot. "These pirates were all destroyed by those two people."
"You're saying that just those two people destroyed all of you?" Fite, seeing the contemptuous look from the pirate, felt like throwing him back into the sea. However, getting the Golden Scale Fish was more important, so he decided to gather more information.
"Haha, Fite, this guy is right, you're really a bit of an idiot" Kado laughed out loud, 'This situation is obvious at first glance, those pirates were annihilated by those two guys and escaped.
"Fuck off," Fite, who had been scolded twice in a row, flew up and kicked Kado right in the face, sending him into the cabin.
"What do you mean 'just two people defeated us'? We didn't even know what was going on! The ship was wrecked by that fat guy crashing into it. If it hadn't been for the ship being destroyed and that guy's sneak attack, I would've definitely taken him down!" The pirate said angrily, clearly dismissive of Beimei's sneak attack tactics.
"You're quite interesting, huh? Unlike the others, you actually have some courage to fight back instead of just running away," Kado said as he walked out of the cabin, giving the pirate a nod of approval.
"Hmph, don't compare me to those pathetic pirates. I'm not like that mob of fools," the pirate replied smugly, his tone full of a "I'm the best" attitude.
"Hmph, I wonder who was defeated in one blow and is still here talking big," Fite shot a glance at the pirate, then turned his gaze away.
"What do you mean by that? You wanna duel me?" The pirate was furious, clearly provoked by Fite's dismissive eye-roll, now looking like he was ready to challenge Fette to a life-and-death battle.
"Oh, by the way, from what you just said, it sounds like you're not a pirate. If you're not a pirate, why are you involved in this plunder?" Kado asked.
"Hmph, I'm not one of those bastard pirates. I'm a proud chef!" The pirate shot a glare at Fite, then turned to answer Kado's question.
"Chef!" Kado's eyes lit up. Good chefs are hard to find these days, and this guy seemed alright—he was brave enough to try and rescue his crewmates. He had some guts, but Kado wasn't sure how good his cooking skills were.
Kado's glowing expression greatly satisfied the chef's ego. The chef proudly pulled out a small album from behind his back, like a photo album, and gleefully flipped it open. He pointed at the medals and said, "See this? This is the medal I got when I won the culinary competition at the age of ten. And this one, this is the honor awarded only to the winner of the Western Sea BBQ Competition..." The chef continued to flip through the pages, pointing at the medals and speaking excitedly, saliva flying as he went on.
"Wow, so many! You're amazing!" Kado shouted in awe, drooling as he looked at the chef's medals, thinking about all the delicious food.
"By the way, what's your name, and why are you here?" Kado suddenly asked after a moment of stunned silence.
The chef froze for a second, then stopped flipping through the album, realizing that the current situation didn't really allow him to keep showing off.
"My name is Buffett Sanchi. In order to obtain rare ingredients, I hired a few assistants and a pirate crew to come to this sea, I came here to see the legendary Golden Scaled Koi Fish, but who knew, The pirates I hired are all assholes. Not only are their boats not strong, they don't even save us when we fall into the sea, They just ran off. I swear, I will never pay them the remaining money. If I catch them, I'll make sure they return the deposit." Sanchi's face was full of resentment, and he looked as if he wished he could catch those pirates who had abandoned him right then and there.
"So, you're saying these people behind you are the chefs you hired to help?" Kado pointed to the terrified individuals behind Sanchi.
"Yeah, but now they're my companions. Any ordinary person would have run off with the others in this situation, but they stayed and honored the agreement they made with me. At least for now, they're my partners," Sanchi said.
"Alright, I've made my decision. From now on, you are the chef of our Night Owl Pirate Ship," Kado suddenly said.
