I apologize, but you cannot freely take advantage of my subordinate

Just as I was about to lend the Wolf King a hand and eliminate that scoundrel Jack, a burgeoning fire threatened to spread. A dashing young man, engrossed in conversation with a blonde beauty, was suddenly interrupted when the flames from the Wolf King's breath scorched a significant hole in his immaculate evening gown, shattering the flirtatious atmosphere and igniting his fury. Without uttering a spell, he raised his hand, unleashing two tendrils of dark energy aimed at both the Wolf King and Jack. Despite Jack's remarkable speed and the Wolf King's fiery form, they could not evade this dark force.

The two tendrils of darkness struck them, instantly transforming into massive serpents, coiling around the two combatants like a giant dumpling. Jack struggled desperately to tear through the serpents with his sharp claws, but his efforts were in vain. The Wolf King, slower to react, found himself ensnared, unable to unleash his flames due to the awkward angle.

This sorcery undoubtedly belonged to the dark arts. While I considered myself quite knowledgeable in magic, I was not well-versed in the origins of such spells. There were similar incantations for summoning magical creatures in the Max Magic Compendium, but their high level was beyond my current capabilities.

"Rude intruders, this is not a place for novices like you to recklessly wander. Get out!"

The adept sorcerer, familiar with telekinesis, unleashed a powerful psychic wave that sent Jack hurtling out of the hall, crashing against a sturdy wall outside with a resounding thud, his cries echoing in agony. However, the same force that propelled Jack merely ruffled the Wolf King's hair, leaving him steadfast and unmoving.

This was not preferential treatment; I simply could not bear to watch as he was attacked. I had no intention of rescuing Jack, but the Wolf King was my comrade. Allowing him to be tossed out like that would be a blow to my pride.

Apologies, but it is not the Wolf King's style to simply retreat. "Come down, Wolf King! That massive serpent is no match for a beautiful woman's charms."

I strode into the fray, casually stroking the magical serpent that ensnared the Wolf King. This creature, which had proven formidable to both the Wolf King and Jack, instantly dissipated into wisps of black smoke, freeing the Wolf King.

Any entity conjured from magical energy will return to dust once its source is extinguished. I learned a spell from the "Max Magic Compendium" that specializes in dissipating the residual magical energy from enchanted objects. To my surprise, it worked remarkably well.

The striking young man scoffed, "Another inconsequential novice! You should leave now and repent; I could spare you my wrath, as I've been rather disinclined to engage in combat lately."

Before I could respond, the Wolf King grinned menacingly and declared, "But I am feeling rather energetic and in need of an outlet! You've interrupted my enjoyment of beating someone up. I require your lawful compensation!"

It was quite vexing; did the Wolf King not realize his opponent was far superior? Would he truly relish the joy of being the one getting pummeled?

Fueled by fervor, the Wolf King was unlikely to heed my warnings, and I had no intention of stopping him. This burly man from Siberia was tough and resilient; enduring a bit of hardship would be no great misfortune.

With a fierce roar, the Wolf King lunged at his target. The concrete beneath him cracked like spiderwebs under his weight, and his golden flames coalesced into a thin layer, clearly preparing for a powerful attack.

The dashing young man smirked coldly, releasing tendrils of dark energy that coalesced into a fearsome beast before him. Every official member of the Demon-Slaying Mercenary Corps possesses formidable skills, and this young man had mastered the dark arts to an impressive degree, perhaps even surpassing the undead entities like Snooker.

Were I in his position, I would avoid a direct confrontation, but the Wolf King was not me. In the time we had been apart, his strength had significantly increased, yet he was still far from matching that man. Before he could even leap into the air, he was met by the dark magical beast, which tackled him mid-flight.

The magical beast showed no mercy, landing heavily upon the Wolf King, its claws raining blows upon him, making him howl in agony. With a mighty roar, it unleashed a torrent of golden flames that vaporized a significant portion of the creature.

The young man, witnessing this, appeared somewhat astonished. Forming a mysterious sigil with his hands, the magical beast regained its vigor, casting the Wolf King into a pitiful state.

I had no qualms about a romantic entanglement, but I must insist: you cannot exploit my subordinate without consequence.

With a swift, electrifying projectile, I hurled a weapon imbued with lightning. The dashing young man was caught off guard by my rapid assault, unable to mount any defense as the Necromancer's Thunderbolt struck him squarely in the face.

Since enhancing my own abilities, my strength had surged, and the weapon, crafted from the indestructible Skystrike wood, delivered a devastating impact. The force shattered his handsome visage into a disarray of pain.

Had I been dealing with an ordinary individual, this surprise attack would have decisively determined the outcome; who has ever seen a common person survive a shattered skull? Yet, remarkably, the young man merely shook his head, the strands of black energy that emerged from his neck quickly mending his grievous injuries. If not for the distressed expression on his face, one would hardly suspect he had sustained any harm at all.

I was furious; you have provoked my ire!

I hope you are not afflicted by fatty liver disease or any other ailments of the elderly, for such anger could have dire consequences.

This soirée, meant to be a celebration, had turned into chaos. Fortunately, the attendees were not ordinary folk; most maintained their composure, while a few displayed a fervent excitement, evidently enamored with the violence unfolding before them.

With my ambush diverting the young man's attention, the Wolf King seized the opportunity to push the magical beast off him, finally standing shoulder to shoulder with me. After suffering two unexpected blows at my hands, the young man seemed wary, commanding the beast to retreat a step while altering his incantation. The air around him thickened with dark energy, and seven additional identical beasts materialized before us.

These magical beasts, resembling wolves yet more formidable, boasted large jaws and fangs, their size surpassing that of a polar bear. Wisps of black smoke billowed from their limbs, shifting and undulating, as they emitted low, silent growls, seemingly poised to feast upon their next victim.
