Inside the zoo's security room, Lao Biao and several other men in black had tied Kekelin to a wooden chair and began interrogating her.
"Why did you sneak in over the wall?" Lao Biao asked.
"I'm a tourist. I saw you weren't letting people in, so I climbed over the wall," Kekelin replied clearly, as if it were the truth.
"Pah," Lao Biao scoffed, unsatisfied. "Stop lying. When you fought with our guys, you used Israeli Krav Maga, Sakura Jujutsu, Street Fighting Muay Thai, and Military Boxing. No ordinary tourist could do that."
Lao Biao, a former veteran who had left the army due to a mistake and become a security head in the south of the city, had experienced her skills firsthand. If it weren't for their numbers and a well-timed taser attack, she would have escaped.
Naturally, he didn't believe she was just a tourist. Why would a tourist sneak in over the wall?
Yet Kekelin's tone remained unchanged, "I was taught some self-defense techniques growing up."
Lao Biao laughed angrily, "Fine, keep making up stories. What's your real purpose for sneaking in?"
"I wanted to see the animals."
"Damn it, still not telling the truth? Fine, keep spinning tales. Let's see how long you can keep it up." Lao Biao sat down in front of her. "What's your name, and where are you from?"
While Lao Biao continued questioning Kekelin, Zeng Shen, Xiao Ai, Xiao Ti, and Bai Qi appeared at the door.
Zeng Shen glanced at the bound Kekelin and walked in, saying to Lao Biao, "Lao Biao, let her go. This woman's name is Kekelin. She's interested in me and has been following me for a while."
Hearing Zeng Shen's voice, Lao Biao stood up and turned, "Yes, Brother Shen."
He moved to untie Kekelin, but she glared at Zeng Shen, "Who's interested in you?"
"Oh," Zeng Shen said, feigning realization, "I misunderstood. Lao Biao, don't untie her. Keep questioning her, and if nothing comes out, call the police to hold her for a few days."
"You, Zeng Shen..."
Kekelin felt offended at the thought of being handed over to the police. She paused before spitting out, "Bitch."
Hearing the English expletive, Zeng Shen narrowed his eyes and told Lao Biao and the others, "Lao Biao, you all step outside. I need to show her who the real bitch is."
Though Lao Biao and the others didn't understand the English insult, they quickly left, closing the door behind them.
Now, only Zeng Shen, Xiao Ai, Xiao Ti, and Kekelin were in the room.
Seeing Zeng Shen approach, examining her, Kekelin struggled, "If you try anything, I'll—"
"Shut up. Who's interested in you?"
Zeng Shen sat in Lao Biao's chair, crossing his legs, "If you don't want to go to the police, just tell me what your Jack wants to know from me."
Kekelin, seeing he wasn't trying to undress her, resumed her calm demeanor, "Can't you guess?"
"I want confirmation," Zeng Shen replied.
Kekelin paused, "He wants to know where the Green Dew Imperial Jade was discovered and if there's more."
"His real identity."
"He's above me. How would I know? All I know is he can call the White House president directly and get maximum assistance and resources."
"Your identity?"
"A disregarded branch of the Kekelin family."
"Good, cooperative," Zeng Shen said, signaling Xiao Ti to untie her ropes.
Freed, Kekelin rubbed her sore arms and asked, "Are you done? When will you meet our Jack?"
Zeng Shen stood up, opened the door, and turned to her, "Now."
"Now?" Kekelin asked, surprised.
Zeng Shen didn't respond but told Xiao Ai, "Go handle things. Xiao Ti, follow me in your car."
"Yes," Xiao Ti nodded, quickly heading out to her Divine Energy Vehicle.
Zeng Shen leisurely walked out of the zoo towards Kekelin's SUV, opening the door and sitting in the passenger seat.
Following behind, Kekelin realized Zeng Shen was serious about meeting Jack this time.
Soon, she started the SUV and drove towards the World Trade Hotel. Noticing Xiao Ti's RV following, she sped up, trying to lose them.
However, despite pushing her SUV to its limits, the RV remained fifty meters behind, unfazed.
She frowned, avoiding the hotel to try and shake them off.
She accelerated, weaving through Jinhai's streets, hoping to lose Xiao Ti.
Unbeknownst to her, Xiao Ti wasn't driving. She rested her hands on the wheel while the Divine Energy Vehicle's system followed Kekelin's SUV.
Turning a corner, Kekelin, not seeing the RV in her mirror, relaxed, ready to head to the hotel.
Yet, there it was again, behind her car. Frustrated, she honked twice.
Zeng Shen, putting down his phone, teased, "If you're not in a hurry, you could try circling the city again to shake her off. I'm not in a rush to see your Jack."
Kekelin huffed, "How is she keeping up in an RV?"
Zeng Shen wouldn't reveal the truth, so he shrugged, "Maybe because it's a Wuling Divine Vehicle."
Kekelin rolled her eyes, giving up on losing the car.
She just wanted to deliver Zeng Shen to Jack and distance herself from him.
She was tired of this man who constantly frustrated her, even more than the family intrigues she dealt with.
Soon, the SUV parked in the World Trade Hotel's underground lot.
Kekelin led Zeng Shen to the elevator, pressing for the 13th floor and quickly hitting the door close button.
Zeng Shen, however, held the door open.
"You," Kekelin pointed, "fuck."
Zeng Shen smiled, unfazed, which only annoyed Kekelin more. She turned away, not wanting to see him.
Turning, she saw Xiao Ti, confident and composed, steppi
ng in and standing beside Zeng Shen.
Resentful, Kekelin felt the urge to challenge Xiao Ti to a fight or a race.
