Dropping Riley off at her penthouse feels like the right thing to do, but as I watch her walk inside, I can't shake the gnawing feeling in the back of my mind. This thing between us … it's working, yes. In fact, it's working better than I expected. 

She's sharp, focused, and already proving herself valuable in more ways than one. But there's something else. Every time we're close, I can't help but kiss her. It's like a reflex, automatic, and the problem is—she kisses me back.

I'm not sure what that means yet.

As I pull away from her building, my thoughts drift back to the day we just had. The meetings, the way she stood her ground, how she called out those CEOs and practically dared them to challenge her. 

It's no wonder she came out of today with more respect than most people could ever hope to earn in years of work. And now, here I am, heading to Arcadia to deal with a different type of business entirely.
