XAVIER
I felt unsettled suddenly. I had gone back to the office in the Palace hoping that I could distract myself from the thought about Elijah and Morgana with work but all my attempts to get them off his mind.
I knew how carefree Elijah could be and I was afraid she would end up getting on his bed tonight.
"Shit!" I shouldn't have let them go. I should have stopped Morgana, after all I'm the king.
"But I stopped her and she didn't listen, does she like Elijah?" He thought out loud. He took a look at the wall clock but it seemed like it had stopped, so he checked it on his cell phone.
9:50pm.
How could they stay that long for Dinner. I couldn't control my mind as it spiraled out 9f control. I was both agitated and nervous with a little touch of anger. At first, I told myself that I trusted Morgana, of course she wouldn't do anything stupid but as the minutes went by, the doubts grew.
I stood up, pacing the room back and forth. Maybe I trusted Morgana but could I trust Elijah? I decided to calm down since getting nervous would never solve the problem. I took my seat and called in Dom, who bowed in greeting.
"Yes, My Lord."
"When did Elijah leave with the woman?" I asked, trying not to mention her name for reasons I myself didn't know.
"A little after six, my Lord." He answered, staring at me. "Is there a problem?"
"Not really. Do something about the clock on the wall, I think something is wrong with the battery." I said to him, trying to hide my displeasure."
"Alright. I'll inform you when they get back." Dom was about to leave but he must have heard Elijah's car at the entrance and turned back to me. "They're here."
My next action was confusing. I thanked Dom and asked him to leave. I had hoped that Elijah would come and say hi before leaving so that I could hear everything they did. When I heard footsteps that sounded like that of Elijah's, I pretended to be working on his laptop when Elijah barged in as usual.
I looked up, trying to look cool but underneath my shirt, I was sweating. 'Hey." I returned my eyes to my laptop while my mind thought about what I had seen when I glanced at him.
He was wearing a suit and I remember he had told me that it was one of his favorites. I was so eager to hear what happened but I just couldn't ask. I looked up waiting for him to say something but still I heard nothing. He just sat on the couch grinning.
"Why are you smiling so much?" I asked, trying to act casually.
"It was so beautiful." He smiled, spreading his hands like someone in love.
"What was beautiful?"
"The date with Morgana."
"Oh." That was the only thing that came out of my mind but I wasn't so glad that he knew her name. Hearing her name from his mouth felt like I was being stabbed.
"Do you want all the juicy details or do you want me to just forget it?" He looked at me for answers. He was ready to spill out everything that had happened then. I was curious about the juicy part but I wasn't sure I wanted to hear them from him. Morgana would do a better job in explaining why she had to sleep with my brother.
"What's wrong, you look dull and some how angry. Did something happen?"
"No, I'm fine. I would like to bear the juicy details from you but I have other things to do. Let's talk in the morning." Or never. I thought. It seemed Elijah knew what I was thinking because he just had this smirk on his face. That was how he was whenever he was with a new woman.
"I think you should support me this time. I think I'm going to be in a real relationship this time around." He said, standing up from the coach.
I couldn't hold back my surprise. "You want to get married to who, exactly?" This was the first time Elijah was mentioning marriage and it didn't just surprise me but also confused me. "What are you talking about?"
"I think I'm in love." He said with so much seriousness in his face.
"With Morgana?" I asked and burst out laughing. It was laughter mixed with confusion, anger and disappointment. "You aren't serious."
Elijah nodded, then yawned. "I'm going to bed. It's too late for me to go back to my house so I'll just sleep over here, today." He said and walked away, dragging his legs. I felt that he must have been tired because of the drive but that wasn't what bothered me.
I couldn't believe that Morgana would actually do that to me. I got up immediately to go to her room but a thought came into my head. If they really had sex, why does it matter to me since I was going to get married too. I fell back to my chair feeling completely helpless at the moment.
I tried to do a couple of tasks but I couldn't get myself to focus so I decided to go to bed. With my jacket in my hands, I closed the door to my office but decided to check up on Morgana first. The light to her room was still on and I knew that her personal maids might have gone home by now but I still couldn't bring myself to knock at her door.
I stood there for a couple of minutes, waiting for no one in particular hoping that something could happen and she'd open the door. After a few minutes, I turned to leave but hearing the door lock open, I turned back to see the charming face of Morgana.
"You're here?" She seemed surprised so I wondered what prompted her to open the door at first.
