Chapter 47. The Return of Thor!

"Thor!"

As Noah and the Destroyer exchanged laser blows, a terrified cry from Jane suddenly echoed from behind them, causing everyone to turn around.

Following the explosion from the clash of two laser beams, debris flew in all directions. While Sif, the Warriors Three, and Iron Man weren't concerned about such things, there were still other people on the battlefield. Fortunately, Darcy and Erik had taken shelter behind a car, which protected them from the flying debris.

But Jane wasn't so lucky. A piece of debris, hurled by the explosion, was headed straight toward her. As an ordinary human, she wouldn't have been able to react in time.

Luckily, Thor was close by. He quickly pushed Jane aside, sending her to safety, but took the hit from the debris himself and fell to the ground. Blood covered his chest as he lay motionless, seemingly dead, while Jane stared helplessly at him.

"What...?" Noah, observing this, suddenly felt uneasy. He realized he hadn't accounted for the presence of ordinary people on the battlefield. Caught up in his fight, he had exchanged laser blows with the Destroyer without thinking about the consequences.

"Thor!" The four Asgardian warriors, upon seeing this, immediately rushed to him, momentarily forgetting about the Destroyer.

The Destroyer, meanwhile, also halted. In reality, it was Loki, controlling it, who had stopped the attack. When he saw that his brother might truly die, he felt a strange mixture of emotions, without the joy he had expected.

Noah didn't know about Loki's conflicted feelings. He wondered if Thor could be saved with the Resolve Rune. Thor appeared to have perished; at this moment, he was just an ordinary human, and such a blow should have killed him.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, thunder rumbled in the sky, catching the attention of both Noah and Tony.

"What's going on, JARVIS? Was a thunderstorm in the forecast?" Tony was puzzled. The weather had been clear just moments ago, and now the sky was suddenly overcast.

"Sir, there was no mention of rain in the forecast. The current weather conditions are highly abnormal."

Noah, watching this, smiled slightly. He knew what was coming next.

In the research camp, Mjolnir began vibrating, causing panic among the scientists. Then, the hammer shot into the sky, flying toward the city with a loud sound.

Mjolnir tore through the sky, accompanied by thunder. Darcy noticed something flying toward them and quickly pulled Jane away. The Asgardians also paused, looking at the flying object, and their faces lit up with joy.

Mjolnir flew toward Thor, lying on the ground, causing Jane to scream. As the hammer reached Thor, a bolt of lightning struck him, and in the flash of light, a hand rose to grasp the hammer. Then, armor began to form on his body. Thor was back!

The Asgardians were overjoyed: their familiar Thor had returned!

In Asgard, Loki clenched his fists and left the throne, realizing that with Thor's return to power, his plans had crumbled. He now intended to bring the Frost Giant King, Laufey, to Asgard and kill him to prove his superiority over Thor.

"Oh my god!"

Jane and the others were stunned, looking at the man resurrected by lightning.

"Damn!"

Tony was also taken aback. The real God of Thunder?! Tony felt that his worldview was shifting today. Too many surprises: the Rainbow Bridge, the mighty Asgardians, and this God of Thunder who could summon lightning.

Nick Fury and his team were shocked, while Barton nodded, acknowledging that Thor truly looked like a god now.

Noah, watching this, also nodded, realizing that he didn't need to intervene any further. But he began to worry that if Thor destroyed the Destroyer instead of him, he might not complete his mission.

"Is this your usual attire?" Jane asked, looking at the newly-revived Thor, who now looked very powerful and handsome.

"Almost. But right now, we need to deal with the enemy. Jane, it would be best for you and your friends to get to safety."

Thor approached the battlefield and nodded at Noah and Tony.

Then, he hurled his hammer at the Destroyer. It staggered from the blow and nearly fell before the hammer returned and struck it again.

The Destroyer, regaining its balance, fired an orange beam from its head. The high-temperature laser was aimed directly at Thor, distorting the air around it.

Thor threw his hammer to block the laser, then grabbed it as it returned and flew into the sky, summoning a storm. Enormous storm clouds began to gather above him.

"Isn't this a bit much?" Tony remarked, watching the scene. He felt he was struggling to keep up with all the changes in the world.

"Damn, they're going to steal my kill. I've got to act!" Noah thought, seeing that Thor was preparing for the final blow. If he didn't intervene now, the mission might fail.

He transformed his Statikk Shiv into a sword and, pushing off with his right foot, lunged forward like an arrow.

Strong wind, thunder, and lightning merged as Noah appeared in front of the Destroyer and struck with his sword. The power of the elements enhanced his blow, slashing through the opponent's chest and forcing it back.

At that moment, Thor, engulfed in lightning, also charged down, holding his hammer before him, intending to destroy the Destroyer.

Seeing this, Noah raised his hand, releasing magic. Wind and lightning began swirling around him, tearing apart everything nearby. Tony, noticing this, quickly retreated.

"Hasagi!"

Noah swung his hand, and a lightning-wreathed whirlwind soared into the sky, ensnaring the Destroyer. The whirlwind tore it apart, as lightning and wind entwined in a deadly dance.

Thor, having ascended into the sky, met the Destroyer caught in the whirlwind. Mjolnir struck its legs, shattering the lower half into pieces that fell to the ground. This was exactly what Noah had aimed for.

He bent slightly, preparing to use the power of the runes. Massive magical energy radiated from him, causing surrounding objects to tremble. He ascended into the sky, unleashing his secret technique.

"Final Breath!" Noah thought, then charged at the Destroyer. His Statikk Shiv, empowered by magic, extended to five meters, and he swung it with both hands.

The five-meter giant lightning blade slashed through the Destroyer. Cracks began to appear where the blade struck.

Noah continued his assault, each blow precise and powerful, pinning the Destroyer in midair. On the final strike, he concentrated all his power, and lightning and wind surrounded his blade. He delivered the blow with maximum force.

"Sorye-ge-don!"

A massive surge of blade energy crashed into the Destroyer, smashing it into the ground and leaving a gigantic fissure spanning dozens of meters.

The Destroyer, lying in the center of this fissure, was utterly destroyed and could no longer move.

Seeing this, Tony Stark, Nick Fury, the Asgardian warriors, and all the other onlookers were stunned. Ordinary people like Jane Foster were especially astounded, their jaws practically dropping.

"Wow, I didn't know you, a sorcerer, had such good sword skills," Thor remarked, flying over to Noah. Of course, he had no idea that Noah had purposely lifted the Destroyer so he couldn't deal a critical blow, nor did he even consider it.

"You're strong too, Thor. It feels good to have your power back, doesn't it?"

"Absolutely."

They descended to the ground, with Jane approaching them first.

"Jane, would you like to see the bridge I told you about?"

While they flirted, Noah opened his task panel to check if his mission had been completed.

Usually, he didn't rush to complete missions and did so after returning home. But this time, he was in a hurry because he wanted to accept a new mission. The current mission he had taken on yesterday. But since he had no time limit, why not take on a new one in advance?

Last night, after midnight, he had already opened the task panel, but all the new missions were of little value, level B. So he decided to check now.

"Hmm?"

However, upon opening the panel, Noah noticed something strange: the mission he had accepted yesterday was still incomplete. He was puzzled—had the Destroyer not been defeated yet?

Noah glanced toward where the Destroyer had fallen, and at that moment, strange changes began.
