Chapter 69: The Three-person Journey

The first to speak was Spielberg. With an appreciative look, he praised, "This movie has an excellent quality and has the potential to perform well in the summer box office."

"I've watched Gilbert grow in the industry, and now he's reached this point. I'm very pleased and wish the film a great box office success."

This statement indirectly admitted that Gilbert was his student.

For Spielberg, this was beneficial with no downsides. Having such a talented young director as a student also reinforced Spielberg's good reputation.

Sarah stood up and asked, "Director Gilbert, how was making this movie different from your previous ones?"

Gilbert responded, "The biggest difference is that this is a completely new genre and field for me. It's my first time working on something like this."

Looking at the team members around him, Gilbert continued, "However, with such an excellent team and talented actors like Keanu, Sandra, Dennis, and Naomi, we managed to do a great job."

Gilbert didn't take all the credit but attributed the success to the team. After all, filmmaking is never a one-person job. Even the most gifted directors can't make a movie alone without a talented team.

As expected, the team members were visibly pleased with Gilbert's remarks.

The reporters then asked questions to the main cast, but most of the attention was focused on the leads, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

"Gilbert, you've done very well. I believe you'll make a name for yourself in Hollywood," the old man said, satisfied.

After that, he staggered off, probably thinking about which bar to visit that night.

Aunt Meryl, however, looked at Gilbert with concern. She pulled him aside and asked, "Tell me honestly, have you slept with both of them?"

There was no point in hiding it, so Gilbert admitted.

Meryl looked surprised. "And they don't fight?"

"Uh," Gilbert glanced at the two women, who seemed to be in a silent contest, and said, "You can see for yourself. This is the situation."

"Sigh," Meryl sighed. "I just hope you can manage it well and not end up like your late father, creating a mess."

Gilbert nodded, "I know, Aunt. I'll be careful."

After the premiere, work wasn't over. Starting tomorrow, Gilbert would take the cast and crew on a promotional tour across the U.S.

Cameron Diaz and Naomi Watts accompanied Gilbert back to his current apartment, where they had been competing since the theater.

"Hey, you two have been glaring at each other for ages now. Aren't you tired?" Gilbert asked, feeling a headache coming on.

They both responded in unison, "Nope..."

And then, they went back to glaring at each other.

After a long stare-down, Naomi Watts finally spoke up: "Let's stop pretending, Michelle. We're both Gilbert's lovers. Even if it wasn't me, eventually there'd be some other woman for you to compete with."

"I'm not happy about it, so I want to win over Gilbert right in front of you," Cameron Diaz said, still sulking.

Naomi Watts had her own pride too. If Cameron could make a move, why couldn't she?

"What are you two planning?" Gilbert was a bit dumbfounded.

It was his first time in such a situation, and he was panicking. What should he do?

That night was one of pleasure for Gilbert, with both Naomi Watts and Cameron Diaz falling into a deep sleep beside him by the end...

The next morning, Cameron Diaz woke up, remembering what had happened the night before, and felt a little shy about her bold actions.

"What did I even do last night?" Cameron touched her face, feeling embarrassed.

Perhaps because of their shared experience the night before, the two women seemed much more relaxed around each other today. At the very least, the hostility was gone.

Seeing the two women finally able to communicate normally, Gilbert felt like a bit of a scoundrel, like a man with too many women in his life.

If only he had firmly rejected one of them, maybe last night wouldn't have happened.

It was time to ask Sheena Boone to find a bigger house; otherwise, there wouldn't be enough rooms.
