Chapter 5: it's okay, Momma.....

"Daddy, I think mommy is having some fever..." He nervously mumbled, pressing his fingers on his mother's forehead; it was scalding. He could see the sweat too glistening on her forehead.

He pressed the fingertips on his forehead to test and could feel the body temperature difference; hers was burning while he was at normal room temperature.

"Fever?" He placed the little girl down on the couch before walking over to the bed and checking on her temperature; true to his word, she was having some fever with the burning temperature her body was feeling.

He picked her up and strode over back to the main mansion, Huo Qi was still in the living room tending to some files and was surprised to see their master carrying that woman in his arms.

"Huo Qi, get some tablets for the fever and bring them over to my main bedroom.... " He took her upstairs to his master bedroom and placed her down on the bed; the kids were also behind him, looking all worried.

"Daddy, will she be fine? Will these high temperatures fry her brain? Will she become stupid?" They worriedly inquired as their father rushed over to the bathroom and got a face towel, soaking it in the cold water before getting back into the bedroom and pressing it on her forehead.

Huo Zhihao walked over to the bathroom, got a basin of water, and brought it over closer to the bed to make work easier for his father.

"She will be fine...." This was the first time he punished her severely, but he kept monitoring her inside that cage; he hadn't expected her to get some fever. He just wanted to warn her.

Huo Qi got the medicine and brought it over; they diluted it with water before feeding her, and after that, they nicely tucked her in while checking on her temperature.

"Should we call the doctor?" Huo Qi gazed at the woman who was shivering as her lips trembled, lying quietly in bed. They knew she held a special place in their master's heart, and he would never be cruel to her, no matter how much she rebelled or insulted him.

"We will call one if there's no change after an hour or so...." They sat there accompanying her silently, and almost thirty minutes had passed when he checked on her, the earlier burning body temperatures had gone down.

"Finally, it's better...." It was eight into the night, and the kids were already sleeping beside their mother.

"Master..." Huo Qi signaled him to get the kids away from the bed but he shook his head.

"Let them stay, if they could fall asleep beside her while they are scared of her, meant a lot; they yearned for motherly love from her... Let's see how she would react when she wakes up tomorrow morning and sees them beside her..." He wanted to know if she had truly repented or if she just apologized while plotting something behind their backs.

"All right, Sixth Master Huo, Huo Yang is back and wants to see you..." He notified him but he shook his head.

" Not today or anytime soon, I want to rest..." He got up and strode away into the other guest room and slept there. He was too exhausted to even be bothered with other things.

It was eight in the morning, and Tang Fei had just woken up; she rubbed her eyes and head hair, feeling their heaviness, and she felt weirdly unwell. Her body and mind were groggy.

She opened her eyes, and what came into her eyes were the kid's eyes that were gawking at her and eagerly waiting to see her open her eyes; when they saw that she had opened her eyes, they moved a little backward, keeping some distance.

"Good morning Mommy..." They were nervous but gazed at her yearningly. You could see those hopeful eyes.

" Good morning... You aren't going to school today? Or you took a day off.." She inquired curiously as she felt coarser and dry around her throat.

Her voice was rough and deep; she sneezed and coughed several times, having a runny nose. It seemed like she was having some flu.

"Today is a Sunday Mommy... We will go back to school tomorrow on Monday..." They softly hummed, watching her from a distance, but this mommy now was a bit different and warm; she didn't curse at them, she didn't yell at them, she didn't do anything to make them feel unwanted.

"Oooh.. I will sleep for a few more hours then..." She closed her eyes to sleep; she was truly feeling bad, and she didn't care what time it was; she just wanted to sleep.

"You need to take some breakfast and these medicines before going back to sleep..." Sixth Master Huo Ting Cheng walked into the bedroom all dressed up, he was carrying a tray full of food that was light to the stomach and also some snacks for the kids as they had taken their breakfast.

Tang Fei wondered why the real Tang Fei didn't see the quality husband she had here.

"Okay..." She didn't resist; she sat up but suddenly felt dizzy; before she could hit the pillow, the little boy Huo Zhihao supported her from the back with his little tiny hands.

"You don't have to, I will lean back on the headboard...." Tang Fei could see the kids cared and didn't mind doing everything so that she could stay with them; they promised to behave, and maybe this was one of the ways.

"It's okay momma... Xiao Zhihao is very strong...." The boy sweetly mumbled, and Tang Fei could only sigh, feeling sad for them. The kids were totally innocent for the original Tang Fei to treat them like that.

Sixth Master Huo Ting Chen placed the food tray on the drawer before arranging the pillows at her back letting her lean back. He was surprised that she hadn't insulted them and was very understanding towards them.
