Catching the Attention of the Gods

After tidying up the messy room, Charlie suddenly remembered an important question he had forgotten due to being busy.

"Aishia, since you're a Spirit, can you also take an astral form?"

Since Aishia had a humanoid appearance, it seemed natural for her to manifest physically. Charlie was curious if she could take an astral form like Heroic Spirits in the Nasuverse.

"I can do that."

Aishia's figure turned into particles of light and vanished.

"Are you here, Aishia?"

Charlie tried to sense her presence, but he could only feel it faintly due to his sixth sense.

"I am here." Aishia replied.

The light particles gathered together to form her shape once more.

"Doesn't your Essence deplete in that form?"

Spirits emit Essence just by existing, so they use far less energy when in their astral form. Manifesting and maintaining a physical body consumes a considerable amount of Essence/Mana, making it a very inefficient use of energy.

Charlie was worried that Aishia was overexerting herself by using her physical form.

"Charlie doesn't need to worry about that. While we slept last night, I recharged my Essence more efficiently beside you. It's also more comfortable." Aishia replied logically.

"I'm relieved to hear that. Let's have breakfast first."

Taking the sling bag-shaped Space-Time Cache and putting it on, Charlie naturally held Aishia's hand, and the two exited the room.

This time, he didn't ask her to wear a hood to hide her face. Charlie didn't want Aishia to live her life constantly covering her beauty.

If trouble came, so be it.

As he predicted, Charlie could feel many people's gazes drawn to Aishia as the two walked down the street.

Ignoring the passersby around them, Charlie and Aishia entered a restaurant they found after a few minutes of walking.

Ordering the recommended dishes from the waiter, the two enjoyed their meal.

"How's the food?" Charlie asked.

"It's delicious. Here, try mine." Aishia replied.

Under the envious stares of the men in the restaurant, Aishia scooped a bite of meat onto a spoon and offered it to Charlie.

"Yeah, not bad." He said calmly.

Unlike most protagonists who would feel embarrassed, Charlie opened his mouth and ate the food Aishia gave him.

To onlookers, they seemed like a couple flaunting their affection in public. This broke the hearts of the single men in the restaurant, who quickly finished their meals and left.

Fifteen minutes later, Charlie and Aishia walked out of the restaurant with full bellies.

The two strolled together under the gaze of many men, captivated by Aishia's beauty. Fortunately, the security in Orario was excellent, with members of the Ganesha Familia patrolling the city. As a result, no one caused trouble trying to take Aishia from Charlie like in a Chinese novel scenario.

Among the many pedestrians, the Gods and Goddesses immediately recognized Aishia as a Spirit. Consequently, they looked at Charlie differently.

"Hey, young man, there's something I'd like to talk to you about. Can you spare a moment?"

One of the gods couldn't help but step in and block their path.

"Wow, a Spirit?! Could this young man be the hero we've been waiting for?"

"HA HA HA... Finally, it begins! I can't wait to see the One Eyed Black Dragon defeated by the Last Hero!"

"The boring days are soon to end; it wasn't in vain that I descended to the lower world."

Seeing one of their kind make a move first, the other gods didn't want to be left out, so they gathered around Charlie and Aishia, speaking all at once, making it hard to understand what they were saying.

"I knew this would happen." Charlie smiled wryly.

Aphrodite had already predicted this situation and warned him to be prepared.

"What should we do now, Charlie?" Aishia asked while brushing off the gods' hands trying to touch her.

"Let's fly."

"Understood."

It was impossible for the two of them to push through the growing crowd of gods, and more people were gathering out of curiosity as to why the gods were surrounding them. So, Charlie and Aishia took to the air under the stunned and shocked eyes of everyone.

To avoid causing a commotion by flying over the city, Charlie bent the light with Spirit Art so people wouldn't see him and Aishia while they flew.

He had learned this trick by referencing Shibazaki Yousuke.

"Where are we going?" Aishia asked.

"To buy supplies. I plan to go on a dungeon expedition. Will you come with me, Aishia?"

"Of course, I'll go wherever you go, Charlie."

"Thank you."

In invisible mode, Charlie and Aishia didn't fly too high. Aside from the towering Babel Tower, most buildings in Orario were only two or three stories high.

Charlie navigated toward a shop that sold potions. Seeing Loki Familia go on an expedition yesterday inspired him to do the same.

With his current strength, the monsters on the Upper Floors only gave him a small amount of Excelia, which would slow his growth rate. Therefore, he planned to do an expedition in the Middle Floors.

Others would think Charlie was crazy if they knew he was planning a solo expedition.

A Level 2 adventurer exploring the Middle Floors alone—what would call that if not a death wish?

But they didn't know that judging others based on their own standards was a foolish thing to do.

Charlie's perspective was different, and he had his own considerations. He was too lazy to explain his expedition plans to others. Plus, he had no friends in Orario.

"It should be around here." Charlie observed.

Both sides of the street were lined with shops selling props, weapons, and equipment, all of which were large stores.

"There it is."

Charlie led Aishia to a supply store on Sea Road. The words "Dian Cecht Familia" were clearly written on the sign.

Disabling their invisibility mode, their sudden appearance startled the people around them.

Not wanting to repeat the earlier scene, Charlie, still holding Aishia's hand, quickly entered the shop.

Upon entering, they were greeted by a vast array of potions on display, including Health Potions, Magic Potions, High Potions, Dual Potions, and other varieties.

At the back of the counter, there were potions in crystal bottles with seven colors, looking incredibly valuable.

Charlie recognized them as Elixirs.

Elixirs were the most powerful healing potions that could cure all injuries and illnesses in general, though they couldn't restore lost body parts. For instance, internal organ damage and broken bones—any injury could be healed, even those on the verge of death.

However, Charlie could use Spirit Art to heal his own wounds, so he wasn't interested in buying an Elixir like other adventurers.

"Welcome, customer. What are you looking for?"

A friendly woman's voice greeted Charlie, snapping him out of his thoughts.
