Chu Yu's face darkened with frustration; he had not anticipated that Shao He would claim responsibility for the deed. While he had come to confront her with accusations, he now found himself at a loss for words.
It was impossible for Shao He to have done it, as she had never been to the Marquis's Mansion and thus could not possibly have had the opportunity to administer poison. Her admission was clearly meant to provoke him.
Luo Jiner stared with incredulous, almond-shaped eyes at Shao He. She opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by Shao He before she could speak.
"Marquis, you'd better think carefully about who stands to gain from this situation!"
Upon hearing this, Luo Jiner's face contorted in anger.
She glared savagely at Shao He and bit out, "You're despicable, trying to drive a wedge between the Marquis and me with this affair!"
