Chapter 19

"Seriously, can you villains be a little creative?"

Spider-Man has reached its final moments, and Peter Parker faces the ultimate choice: save innocent researchers or save his girlfriend, Gwen.

"I want them all!" Spider-Man declares, without hesitation. He launches himself towards Gwen, putting his own safety aside.

"Oh oh—" the audience exclaims as Spider-Man dives down, grabbing Gwen in the nick of time.

"Got you!" he says, holding her tightly. Using the momentum of his fall, Spider-Man redirects his web swing, propelling them around the building to the other side.

Just as the elevator cabin is about to crash, Spider-Man gazes at Gwen with deep affection. "Trust me," he says.

"Um," Gwen responds, nodding calmly, her trust in Peter unwavering.

Spider-Man throws Gwen into the air and swiftly shoots several webs between the buildings, catching the falling elevator. The powerful force of the elevator's fall tears at the walls, but it halts just a meter above the ground!

Spider-Man, using the slingshot effect, accelerates towards Gwen. He catches her before she hits the ground, landing with a heroic flourish.

The rescue is a success! The researchers, now safe, exit the elevator, while police officers and civilians applaud excitedly.

But just as they think the danger has passed, Gwen suddenly looks up in horror at the roof of the building. "Dad!"

"Oh, shit!" Spider-Man doesn't hesitate, swinging up to the rooftop.

Sheriff George, using the indoor elevator, has already reached the top floor. He is pointing a gun at the old Green Goblin while communicating with a police helicopter.

"The suspect is under control. Send in backup."

The old Green Goblin raises his hands, feigning surrender. "Oh, officer, I admit defeat. I'll confess to all my crimes..."

But just as Sheriff George lets his guard down, the Green Goblin summons a distant aircraft! The spike-covered machine zooms toward the sheriff's back.

"Noooo—" Peter screams as he arrives at the rooftop, but it's too late. The sheriff is struck down, collapsing to the ground.

The Green Goblin seizes the opportunity to escape on the aircraft. Peter rushes to the sheriff's side, but the injuries are fatal.

"Peter, promise me... stay away from Gwen... keep her safe..." The sheriff's arterial blood flow cannot be stopped, and he passes away in Peter's arms.

Enraged, Peter swings after the Green Goblin. Their battle takes them to the Osborn Villa, where they both crash-land.

The old Green Goblin struggles to stand, his body battered, his mask half-destroyed. Peter, fueled by anger, rushes towards him.

Norman Osborn, revealing his true face, pleads with Peter. "Peter, it's me. I'm being controlled by my second personality. Help me!"

Peter's fist, raised in anger, pauses. "I knew it was you, but you killed Sheriff George... and so many innocent people!"

"I couldn't control it! Please, help me! You're Harry's best friend... I've always wanted to adopt you, treat you like my own son..."

But the Green Goblin doesn't know that Spider-Man's spider-sense is alert! As the aircraft sneaks up behind him, Peter dodges with a quick backflip.

In the end, the Green Goblin is killed by his own devious trick, looking at Peter with despair in his final moments.

"I have a father," Peter says, "and his name was Ben Parker."

With a mix of emotions, Peter looks down at the fallen scientist he once admired. But he remembers his Uncle Ben's words: "With great power comes great responsibility." Peter vows never to become like the Green Goblin.

He removes the Green Goblin's armor, giving Norman Osborn a dignified death.

Peter returns to the Osborn Building, where Sheriff George has been carried downstairs. Gwen, holding her father's body, weeps bitterly.

Gwen successfully uses the antidote to save the mutated innocents, but the cost is steep—she has lost her father.

Peter watches her with complicated emotions, his heart heavy.

The audience sighs as the scene unfolds.

In the end, New York is saved, and many lives are spared, but the victory is bittersweet.

Norman Osborn and George Stacy are buried on the same day, but Peter doesn't attend either funeral. Instead, he watches from a distance, perched on the edge of a tall building, observing the two people he cares about most—his best friend Harry, and the woman he loves, Gwen.

Back home, Peter collapses into Aunt May's arms, overwhelmed by grief. The doorbell rings, and Gwen stands there, holding an umbrella.

"He made you promise... that it would keep me safe, right?" she asks.

Peter is silent, his eyes filled with pain and guilt.

Xu Can's acting leaves the audience stunned. His expressions convey more than words ever could.

Tears fill Gwen's eyes as she turns to leave.

Back inside, Aunt May has already seen through Peter's anguish. "If anyone can make her happy, it's you, Peter. I believe her father would want that too."

Peter listens to Uncle Ben's last voicemail once more. "The same things that cause us pain also make us strong. If anyone is destined to do great things, it's you, my child."

The camera cuts to Spider-Man, standing on the top of a tall building, overlooking the city he loves.

The police radio crackles with reports of bank robbers fleeing the scene, their car in a high-speed chase with the cops.

"No matter what my future holds, I will always remember this: With great power comes great responsibility."

"This is my gift and my curse."

"Who am I?"

"I'm Spider-Man."

The beginning and end of the film echo Peter Parker's narration. The once carefree high school boy has transformed into a determined hero, fully embracing his role as Spider-Man.

This is the story of a boy next door becoming a superhero.

As the film closes, Spider-Man is once again swinging through New York, using dazzling shots from the Spydercam that thrill the audience. Just as he shoots a web towards the screen, the film cuts to black.

As the credits roll, the theater falls silent, with only the stirring background music filling the air. The lack of immediate reaction leaves the cast momentarily uncertain.

"Uh... don't they like it?" Emma Stone asks, a bit anxious.

"The film was clearly great. Why no reaction?" she wonders.

"Don't worry, just give it a moment," Xu Can reassures her with a knowing smile.

"What does that mean?"

"You'll see."

Suddenly, a fan in the back row shouts, "Bravo! Amazing!!"

The entire audience erupts into thunderous applause, cheers, and whistles that nearly shake the theater.

Even the seasoned director Marc Webb, producer Avi Arad, and others turn around in shock at the crowd's wild enthusiasm.

Everyone stands, clapping and cheering, the excitement filling the room.

Xu Can pulls Emma up, and the rest of the cast and crew join them, waving to the fans in appreciation.

The applause continues for several minutes until the screen lights up again, revealing the post-credits scene.

In the scene, a heartbroken Harry Osborn sits in the empty villa, his father's presence now gone.

In the darkness, Harry hears what seems to be his father's voice. Searching through the study, he finds a unique recording pen set to play at a specific time.

"Harry, if you're hearing this, I might not be around anymore. Do you want to avenge me?"

Following the recording's instructions, Harry uncovers a hidden hatch beneath the ruins. Inside, he finds the serum and Green Goblin equipment, leaving him stunned.

The Green Goblin... was his father.

"Revenge for me! Hahahaha! Avenge me..." the voice on the recorder becomes increasingly distorted as Harry's heart twists with it.

The screen fades to black, the Columbia Pictures and Sony logos appear, and the video ends.

The audience bursts into applause once more, their excitement renewed.

The host steps onto the stage, smiling as he picks up the microphone.

"Well, ladies and gentlemen, I believe you have some questions!"

"Next up is the much-anticipated Q&A session with the creators!"
