"Well," grunted Pure, sounding a lot like Gabriel for a moment. "I can't say that I saw that coming." He was staring at his forearm, where three blades were coming out of his skin, fully extended. The silver metal contrasted with his midnight skin, but I could tell that he took great pride in that.
"I don't think any of us did," grunted Zuhn'thian as he examined his forearms and the blades that were coming out of them. Unlike Pure, he had a total of six blades hidden under his flesh.
"Are you okay?" I asked, turning to Ma'stbaut. He seemed to be the only one who hadn't gotten something 'extra' from my blood. But then again, he already had the nanos in his body. Maybe mine didn't think he needed any upgrades.
"I'm fine," muttered Ma'stbaut, a smile on his helmetless face. He hadn't bothered to summon it again, and I was grateful for that. As unusual as his features were, I loved looking at them.
