Chapter 31: An Invitation

[Cursed Technique Reversal: Red lv2 (1/300): Generates repulsive force centered on Red. Minimum power is twice that of Blue, with maximum output reaching unknown levels.]

A flood of information surged into Alex's mind, rapidly increasing his experience in using the Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!

Alex activated Red again, and a black-and-red singularity formed above his index finger, growing from the size of a pea to a ping-pong ball, with its repulsive force amplified several times over!

Looking at the black-and-red singularity on his fingertip, Alex couldn't help but reminisce about the Hulk and Abomination. Of all the battles he had experienced, they had provided the most satisfying feeling of resistance, something he still remembered fondly.

"Wait a minute, from what I overheard between Coulson and Nick Fury, there's a strange crater in New Mexico with a hammer no one can lift at its center. Doesn't that mean the God of Thunder has already been banished by Odin and is now on Earth?

I imagine that once he regains his power, he should provide quite the challenge, and the Destroyer armor controlled by Loki will be even tougher. They'll make great targets!"

A barely noticeable smile curved at the corner of Alex's lips...

New fun awaits!

He found Spider-Woman again, though she was no longer in the same spot but rather perched on a tall building. Although Alex wouldn't have been in danger without her help, he still felt grateful to Spider-Woman for her assistance. Without it, he wouldn't have been able to hide the fact that the mutant suppression device didn't affect him, which would have taken away a lot of the fun.

"Thanks for your help. Next time we meet, I'll give you a gift to show my gratitude."

Gwen's curiosity was piqued by Alex's words. She wondered what kind of gift the powerful White Mutant might give. Then she heard the charming mutant himself give a mysterious smile and say, "Keep looking forward to it—I'm sure you'll love it."

Gwen wanted to say something more, but before she could, the Alex took a step forward and vanished from her sight. By the time his figure disappeared, she realized she'd forgotten to ask him why he was getting stronger so quickly.

"Oh well, I'll ask next time. I'm definitely looking forward to it."

Humming a tune, Gwen leaped from the building, swinging away on her webs.

Alex didn't rush straight to New Mexico. Instead, he headed to a high-end restaurant to enjoy a meal. At level 3, he still couldn't use energy to replace food, but by level 4, he likely would be able to. However, even if he could sustain himself with energy alone, he wouldn't refuse a good meal—after all, eating is one of life's great pleasures.

With his current appetite, it cost tens of thousands of dollars to fill up at a high-end restaurant, but such an amount was nothing to him now. As his power grew, acquiring wealth became increasingly easy.

Leaving the restaurant, Alex was about to head to New Mexico to seek out the Thor for some fun when he suddenly noticed several familiar figures blocking his path.

These people looked a little different from their movie counterparts, but their distinct features and the fact that they were together made them recognizable. Standing before Alex, blocking his way, were members of the X-Men, including the kind old man in a wheelchair, Professor X, who had incredibly powerful telepathic abilities. Behind him, pushing the wheelchair, was Cyclops with his distinctive visor, alongside Phoenix with her red hair and Storm with her silver hair.

"X-Men? What do you want with me?" Alex asked curiously. Apart from having the same enemy, Stryker, he had no real connection with the X-Men.

Professor X looked at the white-haired young man before him, his expression serious. In his perception, the young man in front of him was a void, as if he didn't exist at all. He couldn't sense the young man's consciousness, as if a tiny ant was standing on the back of an elephant, unable to see the elephant because it was a vast, endless land!

In the moment he saw the White Mutant, Professor X realized that this young man was a far more terrifying existence than Jean. Even when facing Jean, he could sense her mental presence, but with the mutant before him, his abilities were completely ineffective!

Hearing Alex's question, Professor X softened his expression into a kind smile and said slowly, "My child, I'd like to invite you to join Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. The children at this school are mutants, just like you. If you join, you will no longer be alone. Besides, you are currently in great danger. The government and military have already devised a plan against you. Even though your mutant abilities are strong, you can't face them all on your own. Join us, and the X-Men will negotiate with the government and military to have your wanted status removed!"

Around him, Cyclops and the others looked at Alex with confident expressions. They were certain that if the White Mutant wasn't foolish, he would definitely agree to join Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

First, they were all mutants themselves and understood the feeling of being hated by others after awakening to their mutant abilities—the loneliness of being abandoned by the world. Mutants yearn for their own kind!

Second, the White Mutant was currently wanted by the government and military. Although he was very powerful, facing the full might of the military and government, and dealing with various mutants with unknown abilities, even he would stand no chance!

In his previous encounter with the task force sent by Stryker, the White Mutant had barely escaped with his life. Surely, he understood this well.

As long as they could bring the White Mutant to Xavier's School, the Professor would educate him, changing his violent nature. Then, the X-Men would gain an incredibly powerful ally!

Cyclops and the others eagerly anticipated that day!

But what Alex said next shattered their assumptions and made them realize they never really understood him at all.

"Sorry, but I don't feel lonely, and I'm not interested in joining Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."

Cyclops looked at the White Mutant in disbelief, shocked that he would say such a thing. As someone who had been called a monster by his classmates after awakening his mutant abilities, this was something Cyclops couldn't comprehend!

"If you don't stay with other mutants, won't people call you a monster? Won't they hate you? And what about the military's attempts to capture you? Even you can't face an attack from countless mutants with unknown abilities, right?"

He then saw the White Mutant's lips curve into a smile—a smile that grew wider and more brazen.

"Hahaha… They insult me? Kill them! They hunt me? Kill them! They condemn me? Still, kill them! I believe that as the death toll rises, they'll gradually realize their mistakes, change their opinions, and eventually come to the conclusion: The White Mutant is a righteous and kind-hearted law-abiding citizen! Hahahaha!"
