The Xianbei Confederation (1)

After being informed of what was happening in Shofang and Anding both me and Cai Yan departed Langye alongside Lin Biao, Tai Yang, and Ma Shun while Mercenaries the land over are traveling towards Shofang as our group headed northwards before reaching Kong Rong's Territory and arriving on the Yellow River to ride on the Mercenary provided military transport for us and our horses.

Luckily as we were Military Generals we had our own Tower Ship that's meant for both Navel Combat and the transportation of large troops over distances across water, though ours was smaller as their wasn't that many who achieved the title of Mercenary General, especially in this region of China.

So what would have taken a few weeks on horseback only took a few days to make the way towards the lands of of Eastern Anding as we went across China while using the Yellow River.

"So this is our Base Camp." I mutter as we departed from our ship as tents were set up everywhere with a rather hastily made wooden barricade around this massive camp that is meant to house over 50,000 mercenaries, all conscripted to fight for the empire, or at least what remained of the Han Empire in name alone.

But as the Empire is still alive and a new Dynasty still hasn't formed yet the Han Dynasty is still the ruling leaders and as such even if not serving them directly and under a corrupt administration the people of China will work under their banner, especially if you were to paid well for these endeavors.

"There's already over thirty thousand here." Ma Shun said as he got a better look at the camp as we headed towards the center where any and all generals and strategists would set up the tents.

*Neigh!* suddenly Kali began to act agitated making me have to rub her head, "Something's wrong, Kali is acting up." I mutter to myself as I look around, she hasn't acted like this since I tamed her, but it's as if she is acting anxious and agitated.

"Easy girl, it will be alright." I stroked her head as we finally made it to the central camp location where the Generals would set up our tents and prepare for the battles to take back both Anding and Shofang provinces.

"Looks like we were the first to arrive, well almost." Lin Biao says as we depart from our horses to see an extra tent next to the central tent that is set up for making strategies.

As we departed from our horses the many men began to help make our tents, "My, My, I am quite surprised you have arrived first to the emperors decree, it just shows that you are quick to answer the call." I hear as I turn and see a man in his early twenties and in robes said as he departed from his tent to greet us.

'Why is he here?' I internally asked as I remembered him, it was none other than Chen Gong himself, but at this point he's supposed to be still serving under Cao Cao so why is he here on the outskirts of Anding Province?

"And you are?" I ask as I look at him with a raised brow to which he answers with a bow.

"I am Chen Gong! One of the Han Dynasty's predominant Strategists, at your service." He said before lifting himself back up straight.

"Wu Kong, one of the Mercenary Generals that will take charge in this assault on Anding and Shofang." I say as his eyes widen in surprise when I introduce myself.

"Wu Kong? The Wu Kong? The one that has Spread Far and wide as the now Legendary Dragon Mercenary? The one who single handedly dealt with an entire army of Yellow Turbans with just a single attack! My I truly surprised that someone so young would be able to pull off such a feat!" He said excited that he was able to meet me here which I found odd.

'Isn't he supposed to be Lu Bu's Fan Boy? In the historical fact he went out of his way to betray CaoCao and help Lu Bu to gain several pieces of CaoCao's land before being driven off by larger forces and better strategies, has my presence already derailed thing so severely with me showing off my power before those events would come to pass?' I think to myself as I looked at him with a raised Brow.

"Why, may I ask, are you so thrilled to see me in particular?" I asked him to which he just smirked.

"Why wouldn't I be interested in a great warrior such as yourself? Their has been only one other person in all of China that could pull off a feat such as yours and thus now I feel torn between who I should follow on the path to greatness as I can feel the winds of change blowing and whoever's side I choose to follow I can feel that my name will be written down in history!" He said excitedly as Chen Gong's ultimate goal is to be remembered as one of China's Greatest Strategists after all.

"And if I had to guess the other person you look up to is Lord Lu Bu, I do respect the man but from everything I have heard he is more attack first ask questions later type of man." I say to which he nods in response.

"Indeed, I have heard that as well, though I believe that I could lead him to victory if he so desired to follow my strategies." He says before he goes over and opens up the main tent flap leading to the strategic main tent for this mission from the emperor himself.

I walked up to the table that gave us a run down of the current situation, our base camp was set up near the east coast close to the souther mountains of Anding which was just north of the capital of Chang'an.

"All of Shofang and almost all of Anding has been captured by the Xianbei Confederation, they have set up small villages in the major strategic villages and the majority of their armies are located in the capital of both Anding and Shofang but they have separate contingents across the provinces." Chen Gong said laying it all out for me as I looked it over.

"Is it only going to be us or can we expect any aid from the Emperor, Han Sui or Ma Teng?" I asked but he just shrugged.

"They would have been the ones to deal with this but the alliance between Han Sui and Ma Teng has been severed after Han Sui's Refusal to save the Emperor from his current Regents in Dong Min and his followers when Ma Teng went on the attack to try and save him personally, the relationships between them all are strained and while no longer at war, Ma Teng and Han Sui are on the verge of War after everything that has come to happen, as of now we are the only ones who can fight, 50,000 men strong versus an combined force of 200,000 from the Xianbei Confederation." He said which made me rub my chin.

"But I assume all their forces are spread out across the lands, if I had to guess they probably have around 50,000 in each of the capitals and the other 100,000 spread out across the lands overall with anywhere between 10,000-20,000 in the many smaller villages spread about." I say to which he nods in agreement.

Before I could continue I could hear people running before a solider ran into the tent before kneeling and bowing towards us.

"Lord Chen Gong! Lord Wu Kong! It's-It's-It's Lord Lu Bu! He-He's here!" The soldier shouted out to which our eyes widened hearing that.

'Lu Bu? Here? What the hell is going on?' This is looking less like Dynasty Warriors and more like Total War at this rate.

Now I have no clue how things are going to go from here.
