"What did the Imperial Physician say?" Madame Jiang instructed someone to serve a bowl of silver fungus porridge for Zuo Zixi and Zuo Xiangning each.
"Father's illness is not minor; it's very difficult to cure," Zuo Zixi said with a grave expression. "I've already had Shi Qi move to the outer courtyard. I've had the steward arrange for new attendants to serve Father. You should also press the servants at the second gate later to ensure Shi Qi comes less to the inner residence."
"I understand," Madame Jiang nodded. "When are you leaving the capital? Have you set a date?"
"His Majesty the Emperor has agreed for me to leave the city together with my sister," Zuo Zixi said. "Probably in half a month."
Madame Jiang looked at Zuo Zixi, then at Zuo Xiangning, and sighed. "Whatever you both need to prepare, write a list for the steward to purchase, especially medicinal herbs. You should take more of those."
"Mother need not worry; I've already prepared everything," Zuo Zixi said.
