Evelyn's eyes widened subtly in surprise but quickly composed her expression and nodded to Kiana. Taking the white roses from the basket, she passed one to her little bear, who slowly walked closer to the grave.
Kiana's hold on Evelyn's hand tightened as they stopped beside the headstone. Evelyn squatted down to Kiana's height and gently patted her back, letting her understand that it was okay. Kiana looked at Evelyn and then at her mother's picture, tears slowly trickled down her eyes.
"You should join them," Natalie suggested to Zevian, knowing her little niece needed both of her parents to release her pent-up emotions, and let out what she felt all these years without Katherine beside her.
