Chapter 96: Winston’s Surprise

Garon, having activated his stealth skills, broke into a cold sweat as he replied, "Sir, you know we don't typically monitor Mr. Wick's movements unless there's a situation. Also, sir, didn't you notice that Mr. Wick's departure to France occurred just three days after he and Mr. Castle took down the Tarasov family?"

Winston quickly looked down at the intelligence reports in his hands. Sure enough, John had left New York for Marseille to find Gianna just three days after his and Castle's battle with the Tarasov family. Winston recalled asking Castle where John had gone, and that rascal had told him John was on vacation?

It seems that from the beginning, Castle and John had been setting up a trap for Santino, and Castle had kept Winston in the dark the entire time. The more Winston thought about it, the angrier he got. He wished he could summon Castle right now and give him a piece of his mind for his deceit and disrespect.

Despite his anger, Winston quickly regained his composure. The priority now was to inform Castle that Santino blamed him for the bombing in Paris and was in New York seeking revenge.

Determined to help Castle covertly, Winston issued immediate instructions to Garon, who was waiting attentively. "Notify Castle right away about Santino's arrival and his reasons. Tell him to stay alert and let us know if he needs any help. Make sure to do it discreetly so Santino's people don't notice."

"Yes, sir. I'll take care of it right away…"

Garon hurried out, while Winston was left to wrestle with another dilemma: should he inform Castle's father about the situation? Winston owed his position as manager and owner of the hotel to Castle's father. Allowing his son to be in danger under his watch without notifying him was unacceptable. But Winston was also anxious about explaining how Castle had caused such a significant incident right under his nose.

Wait a minute… Winston suddenly realized he had overlooked something crucial. He picked up the report and scrutinized it again. The squad that bombed Santino's club was operating under the Elder's name. Could this mean that Sean already knew what his son was up to and intervened to help him? This suggested Sean was well aware of the feud between Castle and Santino and had already stepped in.

Winston decided it was best to contact Sean and explain the situation. Better to clear things up now than to let any misunderstandings fester.

After several calculations, Winston finally picked up the phone and contacted Sean.

Castle's father patiently listened to Winston's account of the current situation and then burst into laughter, thanking Winston while explaining that he had already met Castle in Paris and was the one who destroyed Santino's club for his son. Sean reassured Winston that both he and Castle were aware of Santino's move to New York and had already arranged for Martha and Alexis's protection. Sean expressed gratitude for Winston's concern but mentioned that it was time for Castle to handle things himself. 

Winston finally learned about the many developments over the past month: John Wick, at Castle's suggestion, had gone to Gianna in advance and, thanks to her affection, had successfully become her partner, reclaiming his blood oath marker from Santino. Castle, meanwhile, had gone to France and coincidentally rescued two kidnapped girls with the help of mercenaries hired using Gianna's golden coin. He had brutally wiped out the human traffickers and even killed four D'Antonio family members present at the scene. This prompted Sean to use the Elder's armed forces to destroy Santino's club in Paris, cutting off his secret operations there.

No wonder Santino was enraged enough to come to New York seeking revenge!

Anyone would be furious if their carefully built network was destroyed overnight by an intruding writer.

Understanding the full context, Winston lamented his declining attentiveness. He felt both relieved and amused by Sean's satisfaction with Castle's growth and decision to let him face Santino on his own.

With Castle prepared for Santino's arrival and Sean watching from the shadows, Winston's worry faded. Instead, curiosity got the better of him. Like Sean, he decided to sit back and enjoy the unfolding drama between the second generation of the D'Antonio family and Castle.

Unaware of all this, Castle was at home, contemplating the two random skill rewards he had stored. He pondered which targeted reward would be most beneficial for his current situation.

The system had told him he could exchange for any skill from movies and TV shows. After much deliberation, Castle finally chose the skills of Jason Bourne, the ultimate spy.

Why Jason Bourne? Because he was the epitome of the ultimate spy. In spy films, Ethan Hunt from 'Mission Impossible' excelled in disguises but was vulnerable without his team. James Bond, on the other hand, relied heavily on gadgets and charm, lacking in stealth and infiltration skills.

Castle ultimately decided to exchange for the spy skills of Jason Bourne, a one-man army capable of taking on the CIA.
