VALERIC gnashed his teeth, his hands balling into fists and his cold gaze blazing down at her small, frightened figure.
"Valeric… Please calm down."
He pushed his face closer, pressing his forehead against hers. "You want to leave me for him, right? You like him that much?"
"What?" Stella was taken aback, realizing that he might have seen them. It only makes sense that he lost his mind because of that. "Wait, Valeric, that's not it. It's not what you—"
"I warned you, I warned you... I told you you couldn't be with him, I wouldn't let you." His lips split into a light-devouring grin. "You're my wife, and it doesn't matter how much you like him more than you do me. He will never have you, he could never have you."
"You're mine."
So cold, it burned. Valeric's voice burrowed into her, a pinnacle of ice that threatened to freeze her heart and shatter it.
