From a 2-0 lead to a 2-2 tie, Tottenham's mentality started to crumble. The once noisy stands of White Hart Lane fell eerily silent. Tottenham fans held their heads in disbelief—how could they let victory slip away? Why were these Chinese players so relentless?
Su Luo's brace had shaken Tottenham to the core. They were terrified he'd strike again and complete a comeback. As a result, Tottenham became overly cautious, not even daring to counterattack.
But the more they feared, the more likely it became.
In the 83rd minute, Su Luo unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box. Lloris managed to save it, but it resulted in a Chelsea corner.
Ajal took the corner from the left and surprised everyone with a short pass to Su Luo, who had moved to the left. Without hesitation, Su Luo delivered a quick cross with his left foot.
The move was so unexpected that Tottenham's defenders were caught off guard. Su Luo's cross was perfectly placed, a low, dangerous ball between the keeper and the defenders—anyone could have scored.
And it was Lukaku, who had just replaced Pedro, who got lucky. Standing right in front of the goal, he barely had time to react before the ball struck his knee and ricocheted off his face into the net!
The distance was too close for Lloris to react. Lukaku, stunned by the impact, was in a daze, not fully realizing what had happened until David Luiz rushed over to embrace him in celebration. Only then did Lukaku understand—he had scored, and the joy was as intense as the pain.
Su Luo had earned another assist.
"Lukaku's last-minute winner! What an incredible comeback by Chelsea!"
"Chelsea have scored three consecutive goals in the second half, completing a stunning comeback against Tottenham!"
"This is a milestone moment—Su Luo has equaled Thierry Henry's record of 20 assists in the 2002-03 season!"
"He's just one assist away from setting a new Premier League record!"
"Su Luo tops both the goals and assists charts—he's unstoppable!"
"Conte's strategy of building the team around Su Luo has paid off brilliantly!"
"Chelsea have scored 71 goals in 20 league games this season, with Su Luo involved in 80% of them!"
"They're on course for a 20-game winning streak!"
"White Hart Lane, unbeaten this season, will fall to Chelsea today!"
After Lukaku's goal, the Chelsea players mimicked Su Luo's celebration, cupping their hands to their ears. Where were the loud Tottenham fans now?
Tottenham supporters were left in stunned silence. They had been in control, only to be defeated by Chelsea. The feeling was worse than swallowing bitter medicine.
But there was nothing more Tottenham's players could do—they had given their all. Su Luo was simply too powerful, with 2 goals and 1 assist, all of them spectacular.
Finally, the whistle blew. Chelsea had pulled off an incredible 3-2 comeback victory, securing their 20th consecutive win and sending shockwaves through Europe!
After the match, Chelsea immediately lodged a complaint with the FA, requesting action against the racial abuse from Tottenham's home fans. As Englishmen, Chelsea's management was all too aware of the discrimination other races often faced in the UK, especially the Chinese.
Despite complaints, nothing usually happened. The Chinese community typically had to endure such injustices in silence.
But Su Luo was different—he was Chelsea's undisputed star, the king of Stamford Bridge, the core of the Blues. If Su Luo was mistreated, what would happen if he decided to leave?
The entire Chelsea club stood behind Su Luo. The management took the initiative to address the issue, and the FA responded swiftly.
Given Su Luo's immense global influence, particularly in China and Southeast Asia, the FA knew they couldn't ignore the situation. Within three days, the FA announced that Tottenham would be fined £50,000 for poor crowd management. Tottenham also issued an official apology to Su Luo and other affected players, identified the offending fans, and banned them from the stadium for life.
For now, the matter seemed to be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. But Su Luo himself didn't dwell on it—there were more matches ahead in a grueling schedule.
In an interview with BBC, Su Luo addressed the issue calmly:
"People can say what they want; I can't control that. But excessive behavior makes me very unhappy, and the only way I can vent my anger is by scoring goals. I'll say this once, and I hope all Premier League fans remember it—whenever I'm subjected to this kind of treatment, I'll score goals until they're silenced. If your team loses badly because of it, blame those cheap fans."
Su Luo's declaration sent shockwaves through the Premier League. No one wanted their team to lose because of fan behavior, and everyone knew Su Luo wasn't just making empty threats—he could back it up.
From that point on, opposing fans were noticeably more restrained in their treatment of Su Luo.
Three days later, Chelsea faced Peterborough United in the third round of the FA Cup. With the main squad resting, young players like Mount got their chance to shine. The FA Cup is known for its upsets, but Chelsea didn't give their opponents any chance. Mount, eager to prove his worth, delivered a goal and an assist as Chelsea secured a 2-0 win, advancing to the next round.
Mount dreamed of playing alongside Su Luo in the Champions League, and with performances like this, that dream was inching closer to reality.
After the game, the media questioned Chelsea coach Conte.
"You're competing on four fronts now. Will you prioritize certain competitions over others?"
Conte confidently replied, "No, every one of our players is highly capable, and we will give our all in every competition!"
Chelsea's current form is truly impressive. In the history of English football, no team has ever won four major trophies in one season. The schedule is packed, and with the addition of another cup competition, it seems impossible for most teams to excel on all fronts.
But can Chelsea achieve the impossible this season? English media and fans of rival teams are skeptical.
"Impossible, absolutely impossible!" declared an article in The Sun.
"There has never been a quadruple-winning team, and there never will be," the article continued. In football, the highest honor is the treble, or the sextuple, which includes the Club World Cup, the Super Cup, and the European Super Cup. So far, only the peak Barcelona has managed this feat. But seven trophies? That seems beyond reach.
Even Conte and Chelsea's executives aren't counting on such an achievement. Their strategy is to go as far as they can in every competition, but if the League Cup or FA Cup becomes a burden, they'll likely focus on more important matches.
However, Su Luo believes differently.
"Seven trophies? If any team in the Premier League can achieve that, why not challenge it?" he thought.
Four days later, it was time for the first leg of the League Cup semi-finals. In the semi-finals, there are two legs, one home and one away, and Chelsea needed to face Hull City twice.
Chelsea took the opening game at Stamford Bridge seriously, with Conte starting Su Luo. Hull City, having reached the semi-finals, fielded their strongest lineup in an attempt to compete with Chelsea.
But it turned out to be wishful thinking for Hull City. Su Luo was in excellent form. In the first half, he unleashed a stunning strike from 30 meters out, piercing Hull City's goal.
Just five minutes later, Su Luo made another dazzling run down the right wing and delivered a perfect cross. Pedro was there, timing his run perfectly to slot the ball into the net.
In the second half, Hull City's misery continued. Su Luo was tripped just outside the penalty area. Taking the free kick himself, he sent a perfect shot curling into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.
Later, Su Luo dropped deep to receive the ball and suddenly launched a long pass to Willian in the front. Willian controlled the ball and calmly finished, scoring again for Chelsea.
4-0!
Su Luo finished the game with two goals and two assists, completely dominating the match.
Chelsea had proven with their performance that they were serious about competing on all four fronts. But the players were exhausted. After the League Cup semi-final, they had to travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City.
Jamie Vardy, with 16 league goals this season, was their main threat, ranking third in the Premier League's top scorers. However, with N'Golo Kanté gone and Riyad Mahrez now at Manchester City, Vardy was left to fight alone. Without the same midfield support, he couldn't trouble Chelsea's defense.
Meanwhile, Su Luo was as active as ever. Before the game, he went to his usual nightclub to unwind. Even though the English paparazzi captured it, no one criticized him for it.
"Su Luo at a disco? That's normal news. It would be news if he didn't go!" remarked one fan.
And check out Su Luo's form! Right after hitting the dance floor, he pulled off a dazzling move, dribbling past three players at the King Power Stadium, and coolly finishing past the goalkeeper!
Leicester City fans were stunned.
"Isn't clubbing supposed to affect your performance? How is Su Luo playing even better? This doesn't make sense!" they muttered.
But Su Luo wasn't done yet. This time, he disrupted Leicester City's defense in the penalty area, passing the ball back to an unmarked Lukaku. Lukaku couldn't miss from there, easily scoring to extend Chelsea's lead.
2-0!
Chelsea was in control.
But they weren't done. In the second half, Su Luo provided yet another assist. Hazard broke the offside trap, received Su Luo's pass, and skillfully curled the ball into the net.
3-0!
Chelsea had convincingly beaten last season's champions Leicester City, securing their 21st consecutive victory!
They were now just one win away from Real Madrid's 22-game winning streak.
On the other hand, Leicester City had been completely outplayed. The team that performed miracles last season had faded away.
The "Foxes' Miracle" now seemed like a distant dream. Without their core players, Leicester City's future in the Premier League looked uncertain.
This was the harsh reality for small clubs in the modern era of football. Rich teams like Chelsea could keep pushing forward, while smaller teams struggled to keep up.
Now, Chelsea was about to face a grueling schedule with 5 games in just 12 days—a true test of their strength and endurance.
In addition to playing Hull City in the league, Hull City in the League Cup semi-finals, and Brentford in the FA Cup, Chelsea had two major battles ahead:
Chelsea vs. Liverpool on February 4, followed by Chelsea vs. Arsenal!
In just 12 days, Chelsea's entire season could be decided.
