Price for Everything(III)

On the ship, QinZhi took the lead in informing Li Xin about the latest developments in the sea region. But most of them didn't seem to shock him that much.

She then seemed to have forgotten and took out something like a bamboo slip, she kept unwrapping it to remember the main points. It reminded Li Xin of those people that had to write notes for a presentation.

She indeed took her job seriously, and looked at the records and then finally spoke when she stopped on the last words on the scroll.

"In the sea city, several forces seem to exist, and those that have the greatest influence are the major families.  The relationships between them is complicated but even so, it seems that the pirates do not target this families goods or boats in the sea." Listening to this, he seemed to think of something and even smiled. 

"Is there a reason for this?" Of course he was interested in finding out about the reason that the pirates where so disciplined when it came to property of this group of people.

The most likely reason for there to be pirates was that the strong clans were involved. It was not easy to start being pirates in this world, after all other than martial arts, the group of men used had to have some skills. He didn't believe that someone influential didn't have their hands in this matter.

He did not think that a group that dares to rob goods in the sea would only avoid certain boats in the sea. That was very suspicious, and just beyond coincidence. They clearly allowed certain ships' to pass without robbing them. But he didn't seem that concerned about this issue for the moment, but rather the hideout of this pirates.

This was very suspicious and it might even end up making him think the two where one group. For the information about the major families having conflicts with each other, he did not bother with it. 

In his opinion, only the ones involved in this situation knew the truth, and perhaps if he met them once he would be able to get some information from them. 

In the same time, he actually hoped their was some sort of relationship as he did not mind visiting them when his martial arts made some improvement. In that moment perhaps he could indeed have the chance to check out on the good things they had accumulated over the years. 

In a way, he was more like a demon compared to the Black Lotus Demon sect leader. He seemed to be always thinking of ways to get benefit from others and situations and in this moment the major families seemed to be something he had set his sights on. He was not going to do anything to them though, after all he still needed a reason to ransack their warehouses. In fact, he even preferred to visit their place of storing treasures without them knowing about it. 

This matched his nature even more. In the moment he came back to his senses, as he could feel some sight looking at him. Since the only person that was on the roof was QinZhi, he assumed she was already aware of what he was thinking.

Cough! Cough! 

Even though he was closing his eyes, it was embarrassing to be in daze because of thinking about other people's treasures. The way QinZhi looked at him was even naming him too guilty, but he didn't plan to take on such risks unless he could gain something good. Ordinary treasures and riches didn't interest him.

What Silver and gold did he lack, rather he wanted things that had more to do with martial arts. The best scenario being martial arts at thee same level as the ones he was practicing. 

Such can only be the ancient martial arts, but for this, one has to enter the ruins. Even he dares not, since it was said that this places where left behind by some strong individuals in the past, but the passage of time makes them unstable. 

If not careful, he would end up being buried in them, and most of them do not even have anything left behind. In other words, it would be a practice of taking risk when in reality nothing might even exist in them. 

For him, it was best to practice since he still had the ability to improve rather than rush to his death. He would in the moment indeed not be able to withstand the power of nature, but that might not be the case in the future and he could visit. But even if he had to, it would be best to wait until a new one was discovered. 

Listening to QinZhi, he eventually heard her say, "The Black Lotus Demoness seems to have come to this region! But I wonder why she would be in this place?"

"Oh! She also came to see the Divine healer! But then again, it shouldn't be surprising, the medical valley has a lot of good things!" He spoke without even caring about anyone hearing. It was just the two of them anyway.

"Are you still thinking about your friends things?" QinZhi felt his attitude was not right.

"Pei! Pei! .. who told you that those things belong to him. The medical tia not as simple as everyone thinks, to even take one precious herb from that place one has to pay a price or have planted it themselves. The only thing that even Lu Chang Yao can take at will is the other treasures stored in the valley. As long as one can provide enough compensation, no one would care, but for medical products, they will be closely monitored. It's not like the two of us have not once thought of sneaking in and taking some precious herbs from that old man, but then again, we just thought about it and didn't dare try." When QinZhi heard this, she looked at him suspiciously.

It was clearly what she was implying, 'you might indeed try it, but don't smear the name of the Divine healer'

Li Xin looked at her with a helpless expression, "You have yet to even marry yet, and you are standing up for an outsider! I wonder what that boy Lu ChanYao has that makes naive girls like you fall so hard. Sigh!"

He seemed to appear lonely with that sigh! But QinZhi rolled her eyes at him. She decided to not continue talking to him anymore and focused on rowing the boat foward.

"Sigh! Women! After growing up you no longer even recognize your family anymore!" He kept lamenting as he looked into the sky.
