Assassination (5)

The assassin smiled because he had come utterly prepared for this moment. Tanya was helpless, she could have deflected this deviated attack if she had slashed at the same time as the assassin but even if she was quicker to deflect the first attack, the deviation that she didn't anticipate to happen was out of her hand.

The sword of the assassin easily slashed through Virtya's skin and it cut through the bones of his neck easily before cutting his head off cleanly.

The assassin could be see smiling as he wallowed in all this feeling of accomplishment, even if he would definitely die in this place on this day, he was satisfied for finishing the mission that was given to him.

"What have you done!" The knight who had been following this assassin hollered. His sword was already in his hand and he didn't wait even for a second before he separated the hand of the assassin that was holding the sword from his body.

"Eeeeerrrggh!" The assassin cried and he rolled on the floor but when he saw the head that he had just slashed from its body, his face darkened and he felt like his soul was about to leave his body.

That face!

Clearly, the person that the assassin had decapitated was not Virtya but someone else. This person had the emaciated build and a tall height just like Virtya and that was why the assassin mistook him for his target. After all, the assassin was not given a chance to examine the face of his target because of the tense atmosphere.

Tanya could have saved this person who was put in place of Virtya but the assassin was tricky, that was why Tanya became helpless at the last moment.

Clap! Clap Clap!

"I have to thank you for your bravery. I wish I had such soldiers... No such knights. Such a shame that you are my enemy instead..." Virtya clapping as he walked out of the kitchen while wearing a black linen apron. In his right hand, he was holding a 1 metre long square steel that was fixed onto a pipe flange at the opposite end.

The plate flange was red hot and some fumes could be seen coming from it, but the hollow square steel was not hot. Virtya stared at Tanya who was checking on the body of the man who was used as a copy.

"Are you alright?" Virtya asked Tanya.

"It is ok." She answered.

"I know you might be thinking of lying to me or not revealing anything to me but I can assure you that I have a long time. I am not in a hurry to listen to you. I will wait until it will come a day when you are ready to talk." Virtya raised the burning pipe flange and placed it onto the wound of the assassin.

"Eeeeerrrggh!" The assassin cried while biting his lips and trembling. Nonetheless, the knight who had cut his arm held him in place and he didn't allow him to roll around. Fumes rose out of the wound of the assassin as the hot steel burned his wound.

At last, Virtya removed the hot steel from the wound and he could see that it had dried up. The blood was not coming out anymore.

"You know what to do Sergei." Virtya waved at the knight dismissively and then Sergei nodded before he carried the wounded assassin away.

Virtya didn't want Sergei to ask the assassin silly questions, he wanted Sergei to torture him everyday without asking him anything until the day that the assassin would open up even if it would take years. Virtya didn't allow the assassin to kill himself as even this assassin didn't carry poison with him. Maybe he thought that the mission was so easy and he would return home safely.

The knights were vigilant and no noice could be heard as the security was upped considerably.

"Tanya. You will have to reevaluate these knights. Not all of them are competent like Sergei Orlovsky. I only want serious individuals around me." Virtya told Tanya somberly. After this aftermath, Virtya had chosen to finish doing his part on the cement plant and go back to Whiten to see the progress of the cannon making. He also want to make guns so that he could break this knight thing into the reliable, modern and professional armed military and the police.

The serious knights like Sergei would be the spearheaders of the military while the trifling knights would be thrown to the police force so that they could continue jest with the people from there.
