Horrible day.

Zhan's Pov.

After a crazy day, I finally arrived home exhausted. As soon as I walked through the door, I greeted my uncle and headed straight to my room. However, before I could lay down and rest, I knew I had to finish my chores. So, I quickly got to work and completed everything on my to-do list.

As I crawled into my sleeping mat, I couldn't help but think about tomorrow. It was the day I had been waiting for—the day I would leave here with Wang. I had been counting down the days for a week and couldn't believe it was finally here.

I woke up in the afternoon, feeling groggy and disoriented. It was Sunday, so I didn't have any urgent plans for the day. As I stumbled into the kitchen, I couldn't help but think about Wang and his strange transformation. The image of him turning into a wolf burned into my mind, and I couldn't shake it off.

As I prepared food, my thoughts drifted back to Wang. I wondered what it would be like to see him change right in front of me. Would it be scary or fascinating? I couldn't decide, but the idea intrigued me.

As I chopped vegetables and stirred the pot, I tried to push the thought out of my mind. In the end, it seems like a ridiculous dream. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't forget about Wang and his wolfish transformation.

Finally, I finished cooking. I realized that my mind was still wandering. I sighed and shook my head, wondering why I couldn't focus on anything else.

Busy night, Uncle Hao raises an eyebrow.

"Yes, Uncle Hao," I murmured.

How many tips did you get? Mao asked.

"Oh, I've got a lot of tips," I replied. "But the regulars always come through."

Mao nodded, pressing his phone. "How much was it?" he asked.

"I don't know; I haven't counted it yet," I replied.

Go and bring it. Aunt Ru said mockingly:

I smiled and nodded, then quickly rushed to the basement to get the tips. I returned with a bag full of cash and coins and placed it on the counter in front of Mao. He opened the bag and counted the money.

"That's from the night before since I didn't work last night, but they don't need to know that."

Impressive. Mao smiled before looking at me. "I'm keeping this. I'm heading to the cinema with my friends, and we can also have a decent dinner. I'll tell them it's your treat." He grinned, and I nodded in understanding.

There's no point in arguing since I'm leaving tomorrow. I just need my money and my mother's necklace.

I washed the utensils I used in cooking, and by the time I finished, they had also finished eating. Mao said I could eat his food, so I did. After I had eaten, I returned to the basement and laid down to rest before going to work.

By 7 p.m., I had taken a shower and gotten ready for work. I then gathered all my tips and the money Wang had given me for the past few weeks. I put the money and my mother's necklace in my pocket before leaving.

I am excited to meet Wang and apologize for freaking out. I am also happy that I won't be returning to this house.

When I got to work, Cheng looked at me in surprise and said, hey, it looks like you have a package. Could it be from your mysterious admirer? I was surprised. When I opened it, it was nicely wrapped. A lotion, body wash, perfume, and eye drops. Attached to the package was a note that read, "I don't want the demon to follow your scent." Use these items to mask it. The eye drops will also change the color of your eyes, so you can disguise yourself even better."

I knew immediately who sent the package. I quickly hid the note from Cheng, not wanting him to know. I told him what happened. However, I didn't mention anything about the whole werewolf ordeal or what the manager said.

I quickly rushed to the bathroom to use the eye drops. It stung slightly but felt cool afterwards. I then sprayed perfume on my body. I was grateful to Liu; no one had bought toiletries for me before. The perfume had a tobacco-like smell, but it was very pleasant.

I rubbed the lotion on my face and neck, then my arms, feeling the silky texture and subtle jasmine scent.

At 12 p.m., I spotted Wang, looking like a demigod, sipping a cocktail. He seemed in a pleasant mood. I knew I had to work, but I needed to talk to him and tell him I was ready. He would wait for me to close before taking me with him.

I picked up my sticky note. I swiftly scribbled a message on it that read, "Can we please talk outside?" I entrusted one of the servers to deliver it to Wang.

Cheng, I will return in 5 minutes. Please cover up for me," I said, and he nodded in understanding. As I hurriedly stepped away from the bar.

I rush outside to wait, my heart pounding with excitement. I have so many things I want to tell him, especially to thank his brother for what he did for me. I wait anxiously, my eyes glued to the door, watching for any sign of movement.

Finally, I see him rush out too, his face flushed with excitement. I take a deep breath, composing myself before I approach him. I don't want to seem too eager or overwhelming, so I try to stay calm and collected.

So, I take a deep breath, step forward, and hug him from behind. When he turns to look at me, I smile sweetly.

I was startled when he suddenly pushed me back. However, when I looked into his eyes, I saw the fear and anxiety hidden beneath his excitement. He thought I was scared of him, and he was trying to protect me, and my heart melted at that moment.

He turned to leave, but I couldn't let him go. I reached out, grabbed his arm, and pulled him towards me. He was surprised, but I didn't care. I had to show him that I wasn't scared of him. I looked into his eyes. I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. It was a bold move, but I knew it was what I wanted. Our lips locked, and he sneered at me with a different face. Pale, with sharp fangs and red eyes. My eyes widened as I stepped back, my heart pounding. I felt a chill down my spine as I realized what it was. It was his vampire face!

I was scared, but I stayed calm. However, my body betrayed me, and I shook uncontrollably. I wanted to explain myself to him, but I stuttered and couldn't speak. I felt embarrassed and stupid for making such a bold move.

After a few moments, I finally spoke. "It's Zhan," was the only word that left my mouth.

"I don't care who you are; just stay away from me." He hissed. The words echoed in my mind as I stumbled back, my heart racing. His tone was menacing, and the look in his eyes sent shivers down my spine. I had always known our relationship was complicated, but I never thought it would come to this. As I stood there, trying to process what had just happened, I realized this was it. He didn't want me anymore. The realization was like a punch to the gut, and tears welled up in my eyes.

He continued, "I'm sorry I scared you, but I don't want my boyfriend to see us together and get the wrong idea." His words cut me deep, and the hurt I felt broke me to pieces. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
