"I was right there when it happened. Alex didn't even hesitate, just said something along the lines of, 'I don't trust beings who show up in fancy robes and start making demands.' You could have heard a pin drop in that room!"
The Red Demon's mind raced.
If they had approached a human prodigy, they must have seen something in him that went beyond normal potential. And if Alex had the strength to defy them… there was no telling what came next.
"You fool."
The Red Demon finally spat.
"Do you have any idea what you're saying? If the Overseers made contact with Alex, then he's no ordinary human. They saw something in him—something dangerous."
Donald shrugged, his carefree demeanour barely masking the tension rising in the air.
"That's not my problem. The way I see it, the Overseers can do what they want. Alex made his choice, and it's his fight now."
The Red Demon was silent for a moment, calculating.
