Unlucky Dorion

Sabrina's eyes flickered as her lips moved, but nothing came out of her mouth.

Watching her precious darling ignore her made her heart thump with excitement!

Ah, Dorion's pale face, his weak smile, his trembling body, and those pitiful eyes thrilled her to no end!

Once Dorion went home, she vowed to have him by any means necessary.

She controlled or atleast tried to control her overflowing emotions. yet, her shining green eyes were unable to hide the ecstasy felt by her. Sabrina bit the inner lining of her lower lip, an old habit and after one lingering look, she returned to the people waiting outside the door.

The moment the door closed Ren instantly fumed, "What precious? Do I look like a jewel to her? Hmph!"

The system jumped on his lap and tapped its fluffy paw to console the fuming Ren, "It's alright. All you need to do is find a culprit and get the second mission complete."

Ren's irritation aroused by the gaze of a pervert finally eased, "Hmm, Say Little god, what if Sabrina is the killer?"

"A wise guess, however, her location doesn't correspond with the killing time. She was at her home or some other place when the murder happened."

"Oh," disappointment evident in Ren's eyes. If she was the culprit, it would have been easy to get rid of her. A pervert like her belongs to jail!

Dorion's mother divorced his father when he was just a baby. While she needed to make money, she also had to look after little Dorion. A kid who was only two years old at that time.

The mommy Vitakis came up with the brilliant idea and shoved Dorion inside a storage room to save both her time and money on his preschool.

The storeroom, packed to the brim with various items, made it difficult for little Dorion to move properly inside. Being shoved in there repeatedly over the years left Dorion feeling disoriented. This experience became a shadow in Dorion's heart, haunting him even in his dreams. He would often wake up from nightmares of being trapped in a room overflowing with various objects.

So, Dorion would always try to hide before his mother went to the office and only then would he come out. It was at one of such moments that baby Dorion met Sabrina.

From then on, Dorion would bring little trinkets or food for his fairy friend. His thinking was simple: babies are forced to stay hungry and trapped in their storerooms. Not wanting to see his only friend starve, he would offer his only nutrient solution to her.

Dorion's situation improved when his uncle took custody of him. However, his stability was short-lived. By the time Dorion turned eight, his uncle began returning home drunk. It was at that time Dorion was molested for the first time.

Even Ren as an adult, didn't dare to go too deep into those disgusting memories. During one such incident, Dorion ran away to Sabrina.

Sabrina, now a 9-year-old little lady, found his panicked friend at her doorstep. She hurriedly took him in. When Uncle Vitakis came looking for a missing child, she hid him in her room.

Sabrina's quick thinking and calm demeanor in handling Uncle Vitakis persuaded him to trust her.

To confuse even an adult and persuade them to believe her lies demonstrates that underestimating her would be a grave mistake.

However, Dorion had no such critical thinking skills, nor was he in any place to keep his mind straight. All he wanted to do was run away. While hiding under a bed covered with clothes reminded Dorion of the storeroom. Dorion panicked and ended up in hospital.

No wonder Dorion's room was so empty.

Ren shook his head, helplessness evident in those eyes. His past self was too unlucky. First, he got traumatized, and his only friend became a pervert who threatened him with a room full of junk.

Yup, they need to go as far away as possible!

'Little God, how good are you at sneaking somewhere?'

The Goodwill Operating Web Domain system, which claimed itself to be an honest system, lifted its fluffy head and stared at Ren with intense eyes, "I once sneaked into the main system's office and looked at the forbidden data."

Even Ren didn't expect to get this answer. Those wide blue eyes suddenly appeared much deeper. The system didn't tell Ren that it was also because of this it was assigned to take Ren as its new host.

Ren laughed at the excited system, "Ok, Then it's final. We will go to the academy tonight and look for clues. Alright?"

Maybe because the smile spilling from those golden eyes was too much, or the system finally realized what it said, all Ren saw was a cub sliding from his lap and hiding its face with those fluffy paws.

Ren almost lost control and laughed out loud, "Pffft baby, are you shy?"

Ren's wanton laughter was retaliated by a tiny bite on his thigh.

"Ouch! Alright, little ancestor, I won't tease you anymore. How about we look at the gift pack we got before?"

Ren was busy playing detective, and the gift was still unopened.

The system slowly put its paws down, and a sense of anticipation filled the air. Ren found himself holding a small square box wrapped in exquisite red wrapping.

What can this box small enough to fit in his palm hold?

"Open it."

Under the urging blue eyes, Ren pulled the blue ribbon binding the box.

The moment the lid disappeared, Ren excitedly reached in and came face to face with a ...tiny doll?

A doll with a face bigger than her body had two braids longer than her whole body lay on Ren's palm. Ren's pinky finger might win the race of height with this tiny doll.

Her big black eyes covered her whole face, and for a mouth, there was only a tiny line. It reminded Ren of a cursed doll he once saw in a horror movie.

Ren carefully inspected the box, tilting it this way and that, but to his surprise, not even a speck of dust fell from within. It was as empty as it can be.

Ren, "..."

The system, "..."

"It's...um... a key chain?" a childish voice seemed a bit hesitant.

Ren's face was still the same just his slightly twitching lips showing his real emotions, "What key chain? It does not even have a keyhole on it!"

This was the first time the cub was assigned a host. It frowned, the confusion evident in those sparkly eyes.

Do all the hosts get this type of gift?

It silently searched on the system network to get the answer.

While the system seemed in a daze, a sudden notification instantly woke both the system and the human.

"Congratulations on receiving a lucky doll. This doll will increase the holder's luck by 20%.'

Alright, the cursed doll suddenly became a bit cute.

Maybe now he will also find a treasure chest while going on a journey to find an ancient herb which can cure anything. He will find a castle filled with many precious treasures. The more he thought, the more exciting it became.

Looking at the creepy smile spreading on Ren's face, the system couldn't stop itself, "What are you thinking about?"

"Treasure,"

Ren's answer met with an eye roll from his system. It only prompted a peal of laughter escaping from Ren's mouth.

A new notification made both Ren and System widen their eyes.

"Congratulations on unlocking a second stage of luck."

Apparently, there was another reward awaiting Ren's approval.
