Doctor's Office

Characters: Doctor, Alex, Antoinette and Ruth

The doctor explains Wisdom's situation to them.

Alex: Doctor what do you have to tell us?

Ruth: Doctor where is our son?

Antoinette: Doctor what is wrong with him?

Doctor: Please you should all take it easy. Calm all nerves down. (He diplomatically talks to them)

Alex: Doctor please talk to us..... Please (He sorrowfully talks)

Doctor: Your son was choked when eating. We found a bone in his throat. We are fortunate he was brought here on time.

Alex: So where is he, can we see him now?

Doctor: We had to conduct a surgery on him.

Ruth: My God!!!! (She sorrowfully exclaims)

Alex hits his hands on the table and stands on his feet.

Alex: Doctor what did you say? (He sentimentally asks)

Doctor: Yes..... We had to operate on him in other to save his life.

Antoinette: So what is his state now? Where is he?

Doctor: He had some damages on his system.

Alex: You don't mean it doctor.

Doctor: I mean it Mr. Alex. Due to the situation, we had to operate on him immediately.

Alex: Which is????

Doctor: We had to operate on his intestines in other for him to get back on his feet again. He will be discharged tomorrow.

Alex: Really.... That's so great.

Doctor: Yeah.... But eeeerm you have to see the accounts office and make payment of the bill.

Ruth: So how much are we looking at doctor?

Doctor: The bill is 75,000 dollars.

Antoinette: What!!!! Preposterous. Where do you expect them to get that huge amount from? (She surprisingly asks the doctor)

Alex: Doctor can't you do anything about it?

Doctor: I'm sorry there's nothing I can do about it. The surgery conducted on him was very expensive.

Alex sits quietly for some time....

Alex: Alright doctor I'll do the payment tomorrow. So where is he doctor? (He patiently asks)

Doctor: (Hmmmmmn) He's at the children's ward.

Ruth: Doctor can we see him now?

Doctor: Yeah... Let me lead you to him.

They walk out to the ward.
