Los Angeles

They both stared at each other, their surprise evident. "Who did you say owns this watch again?" Aaron's voice trembled; he had suddenly forgotten the name of the billionaire because this freaked him out.

"Martin, the country's top billionaire," Tyler replied.

Initially, they couldn't understand why a wealthy organization like F&F would be interested in such a wristwatch. They could easily afford it themselves, so it didn't make sense.

"Did it just give us all the details to break into a bank?" Aaron's confusion lingered as he approached the TV, cautiously reaching out to touch the blueprint of the bank.

They didn't know the password; it wasn't theirs. "Don't touch anything; let's hand this over to the organization before it freaks us out more," Tyler said, and his stupidity shocked Aaron.

"Do you realize how much we could get from breaking into a Los Angeles bank? Is it anything compared to the money that will be given to us by the organization?"

"What do you mean?" Tyler asked confusedly, even though he had a little idea of what his friend meant. He always knew Aaron as a greedy man who wanted more, but this was a risky situation.

"We stole this, so now it's ours... After breaking into the bank, we can hand the wristwatch to them."

"Have you lost your mind? We are street thieves, and you want us to break into a bank? Don't let your greed lead us to our early grave." Tyler said angrily attempting to seize the watch, but Aaron was quicker.

He clutched the watch tightly. "Think about it. The life we've always dreamed of depends on this watch. The organization doesn't care about us; they sent two teenagers like us to steal this device,"

Aaron explained, highlighting how they were mere pawns in the organization's game.

Tyler pondered for a moment: "They could have afforded professionals to do the job, but they came to us. Why? Because they saw us as fools who wouldn't figure out what the watch is about," Aaron kept explaining. He was trying to convince Tyler.

"If this watch is so important, then we will be risking our lives for it," he argued, attempting to reason with Aaron.

"My life or this watch? I am sure you know my answer." Aaron sneered when there was a knock on their door.

Fear gripped them both. Aaron pressed the button on the watch, turned it off, and swiftly put it on his wrist. He signaled Tyler to check who was at the door.

Tyler checked his laptop, which displayed cameras capturing their neighborhood. In front of their door stood a messenger from the organization, accompanied by several bodyguards and parked cars.

"The organization," Tyler blurted out, and Aaron's palms grew sweaty. He vowed not to surrender the watch.

"Grab anything and let's leave," he said, picking up his backpack before placing some clothes in it and some weapons in it.

Tyler placed his laptop and tech devices in his bag as well. They pulled out the carpet, and there was an underground door.

"I told you we would need this one day," Aaron remarked as they walked down the ladder and sealed the door.

The place was pitch-black, so Tyler turned on his phone's flashlight.

They walked for miles, finally reaching a hidden spot beneath the bridge in their community.

"Let's go..." Aaron's excitement about the watch was tangible, but to enjoy it, they had to escape the clutches of the organization.

"Where are we going?" Tyler asked.

"Los Angeles," he replied, earning a chuckle from Tyler.

"How sure are you that the watch still works? Maybe it was just a one-time thing."

Aaron sighed and pressed the button on the watch.

Aaron laughed "This is magical," he said, and Tyler nodded. This was a different level of technology he had never seen.

"Move it, slowpoke," Aaron urged as they ran with all their speed to make it to the train station.

They arrived at the train station after thirty minutes, but it was too late—the last train had just departed.

"We missed it," Aaron muttered angrily. The station was deserted, and the gates were locked.

"Maybe this is a sign that we shouldn't push through with this." Tyler had cold feet, and what they were doing was so risky. This wasn't what he signed up for; they were supposed to hand the watch to the organization and move on with their daily lives.

"Then let it be that I saw the red flags and ignored them; I am pushing forward." Aaron declared, his determination unyielding. Only he knew the hard life he had lived. He was used by everyone and thrown out of the house by his stepmother.

He was called useless by his classmates; he became independent at the age of thirteen, and this was his one big chance, and he wasn't going to let it go.

"For once, use your brain, Aaron," Tyler hissed angrily.

"Trust me, I use my brain a lot," he answered, and then he could feel some movements. He had been a thief for a long time, and he could tell when they were being watched.

He quickly took the watch from his hand and placed it in his trouser pocket. "Listen to me; we need to leave," Aaron said, and Tyler clenched his fist angrily.

"Let's not push through with this, and there is no train. How are we going to leave?" he yelled, and Aaron scanned around before locking eyes with Tyler, determination burning in his gaze.

"We need to leave," he insisted, and Tyler was consumed by anger that he didn't understand.

"Run, Tyler!" Aaron scolded as he turned to run, but a gun was pointed at him. Tyler turned to run when another man pointed a gun at him as well.
