Upon their arrival, they found quite the crowd gathered in the hallway leading to the apartment.

Whispers and murmurs filled the air as the scandalized crowd spoke in hushed tones. One woman was not as discreet as others and she spoke loudly.

"Whose man did she sleep with? They don't call a woman a slut for no reason."

Alix looked at Caishen, puzzled. Meifen had not mentioned anything about name calling. All she said was that someone had painted unsavory words on her door during the night and also splashed blood on it.

She needed to get through the crowd and see for herself what the truth was.

"Excuse me." She called out loudly and raised her hands, preparing to push the onlookers out of the way.
