"I don't know why they suddenly dragged me here, sir."
"Really?"
Jace darted a glance at Mr Fitz, who understood what he wanted him to do without Jace uttering a word.
"What were you doing in the garden a few minutes ago?" He asked in a gravelly voice.
"I-I wasn't sneaking around, sir. I-I was just... um..."
"Who said anything about sneaking around? Or was that actually what you were doing?" Mr Fitz asked with a disappointed expression.
He had warned her times without number to mind her business but she wouldn't listen and carried on as if she had the final say, now that she has been caught by the boss himself, let me see who will save you.
"No, no. I was just…"
"I was only looking out for Master Charles's safety since Grace is new and we don't know her character yet," she explained and even she, herself, did not want to believe her own lie.
"I can't remember assigning that role to you," Mr Fitz sounded coldly.
