Chapter 99 : Yuta Vs Maki 1

Yuta stood in front of Maki, both were ready to start the spar. While Yuta was bare hands, Maki was holding a staff on her hands. 

"Are you sure you don't want a weapon," Maki asked with one eye raised. 

"Nah, I'm good," Yuta replied as he smiled. 

It's pointless to get a weapon, ordinary weapons won't withstand his OFA powers. It's pretty much pointless involving himself with a weapon until he can get a really good one.

Maki after ensuring that Yuta wasn't taking any weapons, finally went on offensive. Charging at right Yuta with much power to her step she swung her staff at him from a distance. 

For Yuta covering that distance was the real problem, but he wasn't worried. He could just use OFA to speed up or Sharingan to dodge and predict her movements.

'Never mind.' Yuta deadpan.

'Why does the system only act after I have an existing plan in motion? Why can't you just give the task a little early so that I don't have to come up with a plan on the go.' Yuta really wanted to curse.

Seeing that he can't use his Hero Time. He has to fall back on all of his training up to this time and more than that, his passive skills. 

Previously he was able to pull this kind of mission off thanks to King's Engine back then was a passive skill. Not any more. 

While he was cursing inside his head about how unfair the system was, how the hell was he supposed to beat Maki without HT, his spider-sense tingle making him come out of his daze as his body shifted on the side on instincts, barely dodging the staff aimed right at his head. 

Maki is not just any normal human. Her physical power is on par with some superhumans. Curse Energy or not, this is one badass chick. 

'Well, at least I got Spider Sense. Next time I have to make sure that I update skills with more caution, Passive King's Engine with just a 1.2x boost would have been really nice right about now.' 

For Yuta the complicated movement Maki was moving and twisting with her pole was hard to predict. 

'If only this was another kind of pole she was twisting herself around. If only...' 

Yuta jumped, dodging a lower leg swiftly while twisting his body as his training all this time had taught him to dodge another kick aimed at him. 

Maki was using her body and the staff she was carrying masterfully. Shifting her weights in time while making sure that she only came close to Yuta while there was a window of opportunity to attack him while staying away and using the staff. 

"He is doing better than I predicted he would do ?" Panda said as both he and Toge were observing the fights from a distance. 

"Salmon." 

"You are better than I thought. Last time a Yuta came here, he was beaten pretty badly by me." Maki said with a smile. Not sure whether she was excited about the fight or smiled after thinking about that other Yuta. 

"But if this is all you can do, then this gonna end pretty quick," Maki smirked. 

Yuta on the other hand was trying to understand how Maki fights. Though Maki is strong but not by that much. Yuta himself has worked really hard on his physics, if not anything he should to close to this version of Maki at his base.

So it's not about power as much as it is about the range. Maki's range especially with that staff was throwing him off guard. 

'If I want to get to her, then I have to do something about that staff of hers.' Yuta thought as he planned. 

"We'll see." Yuta smile. 

'Both Power and Range are going for the girl.

While in terms of both speed and experience, we are almost equal. 

The only thing going for me is...

My experience of dealing with people is stronger than mine and I am pretty good at getting a rise out of people.' 

Yuta smirked. 

'For someone who has been bullied all this life, especially by Superhuman kids with all sorts of powers, Yuta build a knack for observing weak points or a loophole in their powers or the way they fight to use them against him. 

This might be way before he got his system but this is how he had survived all this time. 

And the very first rule when fighting an enemy who is stronger than you is...

"Never Fight Fair."

While this fight was going on, Gojo Satoru was standing on top of a building with Principal Yaga there. 

"You are hiding something Satoru. Tell me what did you find in that boy that you directly adim him in without even knowing his background ?" Yaga asked with both confusion and a little irritation. 

But unlike usual, Gojo didn't have his usual smile on his face. 

He was observing Yuta's fight with Maki with intent. Even though they were standing pretty far away. 

Thanks to his Six Eyes, it's not a problem for him. 

"Because we can't afford him outside," Gojo replied as he looked at his hand in which he caught Yuta's hand. 

His lips pursed, a little smile on his face but at the same time, he was looking solemn. 

"That kid, 

No matter whether he is related to Yuta or not.

He has the potential to be stronger than both Yuta and even me." Gojo said with a strange smile on his face. 

Yaga after hearing this was wide-eyed.

"Satoru, what are you hiding ?" Yaga now almost shouted. 

"Haha, nothing you have to worry sensei, Just make sure that those old geezers don't get a hint of the boy." Gojo smiles as he vanishes from his place.
