Chapter 383: Phoenix, You Are Guilty!

While Clark confronted the true form of the Phoenix in the multidimensional universe, the situation on the other two battlefields was similarly bleak.

On Mount Everest, communication had broken down due to the absence of Clark,

the only person who could act as a bridge between the two sides. Meanwhile, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants, already hostile towards the Avengers as outsiders, launched a fierce charge under the command of the Dark Phoenix.

The Dark Phoenix herself, controlling Jean's body, soared directly towards the peak of the high tower where the Heavenly Sword was located. Her aim was to stop the invaders' sinister plan by completely destroying the mysterious structure and shattering the core "Heavenly Sword" along with the green gem emitting terrifying energy. Among the mutants, only the power of the Phoenix could accomplish this.

As the Phoenix power darkened, its might became boundless. With Wanda absent, who could contend against it? Watching the Dark Phoenix gather the Phoenix force and dive towards the Heavenly Sword, Wanda's form also erupted in a burst of scarlet magical energy. She soared into the sky, swiftly intercepting the Dark Phoenix. Her hands shifted through several gestures, rapidly shaping the chaos magic into a giant sword that she thrust at the Dark Phoenix's chest!

Facing the equally formidable chaos force, the Dark Phoenix didn't dare slacken. She quickly crossed her arms, and a surge of Phoenix power coalesced into a massive shield in front of her, blocking the chaos blade just in time.

"Boom!"

The direct collision between the chaos force and the Phoenix power was terrifyingly potent! The shockwave triggered an avalanche on the mountain.

As the avalanche roared down, threatening to engulf both the mutant army and the Avengers, the green-eyed Eastern girl standing behind Magneto swiftly turned around. Utilizing the momentum of her turn, she launched two purple light blades with her hands. One sliced through the descending avalanche, while the other shot towards the airspace above the Avengers.

In the next moment, the two purple light blades exploded mid-air, transforming into two irregularly shaped portals. Using the spatial displacement between the two portals, she redirected the entire force of the avalanche towards the Avengers' heads. The mutant with this ability was Clarice Ferguson, known as Blink.

However, if the mutants had Blink to manipulate space, the Avengers naturally had their own ace up their sleeve.

Almost at the same instant Blink's portals opened, Doctor Strange, donning the Eye of Agamotto, swiftly drew a magical portal of equal size below Blink's, diverting the falling snow. Before it could threaten the Avengers, it plunged into another portal, hurling back towards the mutant army.

"Humph! A bunch of trash!"

In mid-air, the Dark Phoenix, engaged in a standoff with Wanda, sensed the shift in the battle and disdainfully cursed. A sweep of her Phoenix force melted the descending avalanche into water, blasting it towards the distance.

But her momentary distraction allowed Wanda to seize the opportunity, launching a straightforward blast of chaos energy that struck the Dark Phoenix squarely in the chest, sending the strongest of the mutants flying backward.

Hearing the Dark Phoenix's scornful insult and being inadvertently saved by her, both Professor X and Magneto felt awkward to the extreme.

They wanted to assist, but alas, they were powerless! Clark, anticipating potential issues on the mutants' side, had prepared accordingly. Before departing, he had equipped all Avengers with devices that could block psychic attacks. Compact and more elegant than Magneto's cumbersome helmet, these devices significantly leveled the playing field.

As a result, the most formidable brain among the mutants could do little more than coordinate his troops, reduced to nothing more than a mascot.

With precautions taken against both the benevolent Professor X and the often troublesome Magneto, the Avengers' equipment had been upgraded to nano-carbon material, neutralizing Magneto's influence.

Initially, Clark had hoped to align with the X-Men to counterbalance threats from Magneto or other potential disruptors like the Hellfire Club. If not, he wouldn't have helped enhance Professor X's powers.

Unfortunately, things had progressed in the worst direction he had anticipated, nullifying his investments in the X-Men.

Fortunately, he had only enhanced Professor X, whose formidable abilities could be countered with proper precautions, preventing any severe betrayals.

Professor X's powers, more terrifying than Magneto's, could surpass even a twice-enhanced Captain America without specific countermeasures.

During this fierce battle, Magneto, although restricted, did not find himself as crippled as Professor X. At a gesture, the numerous blades carried by a mutant behind him soared into the air. Although the Avengers' weapons were mostly unaffected by his powers, there were still a few he could manipulate.

Thus, with another gesture, Black Panther and Captain America were involuntarily lifted, intensifying the tension among the Avengers.

Black Panther's abilities, derived largely from vibranium, offered no advantage against Magneto. Suri quickly retracted her nanotech Black Panther suit, preparing for hand-to-hand combat, while T'Challa found himself without options.

Without his Heart-Shaped Herb powers and if he forsook his vibranium gear, his combat effectiveness would be

 severely diminished.

However, Captain America, feeling Magneto manipulating his injured shield and vibranium hammer, revealed an unyielding spirit in his eyes.

What kind of man was Captain America?

A super-soldier enhanced by Clark, he vibrated his hammer to disrupt the magnetic field, freeing it from Magneto's control. A forceful strike of his hammer against his shield concentrated its power, launching a fierce shockwave directly at Magneto.

Magneto hastily erected a magnetic shield, blocking the thunderous strike but nearly exhausting his strength in the process.

The clash between the leaders was over in the blink of an eye, setting the stage for the full-scale battle.

The next moment, the mutant army and the Avengers clashed fiercely, escalating the battle to its peak.

Meanwhile, from within the Heavenly Sword Tower, an inspiring tune played—Tony and the others, influenced by Clark's unique tastes, had prepared a battle anthem for each squad.

"The Avengers" theme song played, not enchanted by Clark nor carrying any special effects. Yet whenever it played, the Avengers felt invigorated as if the music belonged to them, enhancing their combat performance.

Amidst the music, every Avenger unleashed their potential, holding their ground against a formidable and numerically superior enemy.

Despite their valiance, the battlefield situation remained grim.

The Avengers were strong, but their mutant opponents, each with unique abilities, were not to be underestimated. Not all mutants were suited for combat, but those chosen to fight today were the elite of a population numbering in the millions.

Facing such foes, even the battle-hardened Avengers struggled under the numerical disadvantage.

For instance, Captain America faced the combined assault of Magneto, Storm, and Psylocke alone. Despite being significantly enhanced by Clark, handling three top-tier mutants proved overwhelming, and he could only fight desperately while motivating himself.

"I am Captain America. I am Steve Rogers. I can do this all day!"

And his good friend Falcon was similarly engaged, battling Angel in the sky while dealing with Nightcrawler's intermittent harassment.

Meanwhile, Mantis, even stronger, found herself mounted and armed, battling alongside Wanda against the Dark Phoenix in the sky.

Initially, even a darkened Phoenix should not have been able to dominate Wanda, known for her limitless potential, so quickly. However, the Phoenix's powers had inexplicably surged, making her far stronger than when Clark last saw her, overwhelming even the combined might of Wanda and Mantis.

In fact, Jean's Phoenix force within her had not been very substantial until recently, when the Phoenix took advantage of an X-Men space mission to recharge Jean like a solar flare, boosting her powers and triggering her transformation.

Even the walkie-talkie Clark had given her went unused.

"Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!..." Just when the situation seemed dire for the two women, an utterly out-of-place sound of a car engine roared through the heavens. A flaming Batmobile soared through the air, striking the Dark Phoenix who was about to finish off her foes, sending her tumbling back.

The flaming Batmobile hovered mid-air, its door opening to reveal a figure in a black denim jacket with a flaming skull for a head. He glanced at Mantis, clearly fatigued and disordered, then turned to face the Dark Phoenix returning for another attack. From the skull's mouth, a hoarse voice slowly pronounced three words.

"You—are—guilty!"
