The helmet then lists a skill that could be claimed with the four skill points. Some of the skills caught my attention but I realized something terrible.
Despite having 4 unclaimed skill points, it could unlock just one skill as the requirement to unlock a single skill would cost 4 unclaimed skill points.
But some skills seemed to be quite powerful and it was a shame that I only had 4 unclaimed skill points, because all of the powerful skills required more than 4 unclaimed skill points.
So, in the end, I ask the helm for something good enough for my current situation and I need to defend myself against the upcoming monster.
*Beep*
<You 4 could acquire a skill to raise attack power through the helmet. The is called skill: Helmet Buff, C-tier skill. If you wish unlock skill, unclaimed points will be used.>
"How much attack power would this skill give me?"
*Beep*
<Based on the data that been provided. The buff adds +100 attack points, and every successful monster kill would add +2 points permanently to buff.>
"And the buff only lasts for how many minutes?"
*Beep*
<It 25 only lasts for seconds.>
Hearing that from the helmet, that skill itself is good. I am curious to know whether +100 attack points are good or not. All because such buff doesn't exist normally. Knowing the number reaching 3 digits is an indication of a good skill.
But the only downside was the buff only lasted for several seconds. As usual buff last 5 minutes or more.
"How to use it? Does it use MP to activate the buff or need another requirement?" I ask that to the helmet.
Because if it requires just MP, then the buff only lasts for a moment. I would surely take this skill as other C-tier skills aren't that good from what I saw.
*Beep*
<To activate the buff, it requires 10MP. And buff couldn't be stacked with same buff.>
It seems based on how many MP that I got, I could only activate the buff 5 times. Meaning 5 strikes and all of it must land on the monster as I do not wish to waste any of it. However, there's something that I don't understand.
"I see... But I don't understand what stack means. Can you explain to me?"
*Beep*
<It means that if the buff was already activated, it cannot be stacked. Because can only active once, and you activate again, previous one will overwritten.>
"I see, so within the 25 seconds of the buff, I could only be active once in those 25 seconds?"
*Beep*
<Correct! >
Hearing the helmet confirmation, I could only smile and think about the best course of action to kill the monsters.
I don't have much time and without hesitation at all, I tell the helm to unlock the skill.
*Beep*
<Helmet Buff is unlocked, all of the remaining skill points are used up.>
With that, the only thing I could do now was to wait for the monster to come here or to find it myself. Because I have the map function seeing the monster's location isn't that hard.
The map function is simple, the moment I think about activating the map, a map will appear before me and the red dots are the enemies while the white dot is my location.
But before all of that, I need to prepare for the fight. Because my equipment right now is a bit lacking.
However, I am lucky enough that the helmet is the only piece of equipment that could protect my head. My soldier armor is in terrible condition because of the fight earlier with the golem and the fall earlier.
It was a good thing that my breastplate was still intact. The only thing that I worried about was that a single hit would break the breastplate, and if the monster landed a powerful strike, it would be the end.
Plus my sword itself is on its limit and my shield is already broken into pieces. It seems that the shield was a bit old.
All of my equipment is not good and I don't know where the hell the place I am at, and the fact that I need to survive is quite hard. But at least I got this newfound strength.
I just hoped that my sword would not break after a few hits as it was the only weapon that I had.
With a little preparation done, I begin to track the monsters and it doesn't take me a long time. It took me 5 minutes and when I found the red dot that I had been following.
And when I finally discovered what monster was the red dot was on the map, I was quite surprised to see that it was the golem that I had fought before.
But I guess it's strong enough to withstand the fall even if it's quite deep.
It's going to be a tough fight indeed but I still have the advantage here. As the golem itself doesn't seem to detect my presence. Thus I could launch a sneak attack and might get away with a few hits with the buff applied.
But, before that, I activate the buff first and a notification appears before me.
*Beep*
<Buff Helmet buff activated: +100 attack points added.>
The buff has been activated but I felt nothing seems to change on how I feel. It's like I had the buff and it's not activated. But I couldn't waste any seconds as it wouldn't last that long.
The moment the buff is activated, I move forward and try to close the distance with the golem.
With the attack boosted, I hit the golem with a slash attack and a notification appeared before me, indicating the success of the sneak attack.
But just like I have anticipated, it doesn't go down after a single hit. The hit itself doesn't do that much damage despite the buff, at least that's how I see it based on how the golem is still in good condition and doesn't seem to crack that much.
That's how I see it, but the golem seems to notice my presence now as it turns its body to me and tries to grab me.
